I think this tour has to be it for some of these songs being played live for a while.

My only thought on the lack of setlist changes is that they will obviously start mixing some new tunes into the set at the end of the year - 2016 and beyond.   With that, I'd think songs like Swerve, one of the DE/RS combo but not both, etc. will not be heard for a while or maybe just not as frequently.

Deftones please stop playing DE-KNY songs

A friend from CA confirmed they played it, but it was just a snippet.

Diamond Eyes is what got them a lot of new fans so they'll play them for sure. I'd definitely rather hear earlier stuff but it's just how it goes.

Yes, but seriously cmd/ctrl fit a lot more the energetic vibe than DE, sextape and so on...

So what? A band is out to make the most people happy. Hence why Incubus isn't playing SCIENCE tracks like the older fans want and instead play Drive and Wish You Were Here for the pop noobs. It's a business, not a club.

It's about the consistency and being professional. Sextape ruins the energetic vibe. Digital bath, Rosemary fit more that's it
But don't get me wrong, I'm not into the Happy/energetic vibe they have since DE.

I get the strategy honestly, but it just must be hard for the TONS (because yes, there were probably many more than the popular opinion claims) of hardcore fans who used to follow them on club tours. Back in the day, they weren't about fitting a genre or following standards, and that's for everything.

I read recently about 1998's Chino opinion about the video for Be Quiet and Drive. He said that he wasn't about that "gay artsy shit". Can we take a moment and think about the videos that came out since then? Just take Swerve City.

They changed, they just really changed, on many points. But it's rarely something oldschool fans want to face, especially when you know how diverse they've been at least setlist wise, and how long they stayed that way (2007 still had tons of surprises setlist wise, and it was like 12 years after the "club band Adrenaline" days).

EDIT : Before someone tells me "Yeah but it's a business now you must accept it they grew up" etc, I get it. I'm just defining the matter.

Chino doing the Wicked bit on Engine No. 9, thinking it's from yesterday's show, any idea the last time he did that?

I think "gay artsy shit" was the younger Chino's way of saying "overly pretentious" - which is the prefect way to describe the odd cut scenes, and the water hose.

Other than the fake glasses chino was wearing, the swerve city video was actually well done IMO. Minerva is still their best vid, however.

what a bunch of whiny bitches. I'm happy they're still touring and making new music. I've been to four of their concerts and had fun at all of them. I'd say you're kind of a weird fuck if you went to their show and left sad.

don't get me wrong I still have setlists that i'd rather see, that will never happen. I want to hear some MX, Needles and Pins, Rats Rats Rats, Leathers, the chauffeur, and one of those songs I find kind of strange like good morning beautiful, but at the time I'm not going to let it ruin the concert for me or make me hate on them. How cool would be it be if they played Pink Maggit in it's original state. I get some of the frustration but in the big picture their concerts are fucking sweet. Prince too, to me the best song off Diamond Eyes. When I saw them in 2006 at Cleveland house of blues, I think they played just about every song off SNW except cherry waves, pink cell phone, riviere, mein I don't think was played either. I couldn't find the setlist online. That concert was the shit. Either way when they come Pittsburgh and Cleveland I'll be at both concerts.

Me too, I've seen them three times and the setlists have only changed a tiny bit during those three times. I still love their shows, though. But of course people want to hear some older songs or some songs they haven't played in a long time. It's not whining, it's just that they're mostly playing their hits, most well-known songs. And that works well at festivals or at shows where you're opening for another band, but for Deftones playing their own shows, people there are fans and want to hear the rare songs, too. I'm going to enjoy seeing them in London next month even if the setlist is the same, but will my experience be 100x better if they played different songs? Hell yeah.

Vesanique, do you have any other live performances of Rapture? the only one I've seen on youtube is from the taste of chaos tour. Personally I love that song, might be my favorite off of SNW.
