Sharing Lungs Forum Rules and Guidelines.
The Sharing Lungs Philosophy:
Sharing Lungs was created with the intention of being a forum for Deftones fans to gather and converse/discuss a wide range of topics.The tone of the boards is as an enjoyable and open community for fans and like-minded individuals to converse in an open and friendly environment.
As such the following rules must be adhered to at all times by all members.
Flaming/Trolling:
Flaming (To engage in an online argument usually involving unfounded and off-topic personal attacks by one or more members directed at another member or group with little relevance to the original thread topic or intent) and Trolling (The act of purposefully antagonizing other members into arguments or posting threads or comments with malicious intent.) are forbidden on Sharing Lungs.
Thread Derailment/Off-topic posting.
While through the natural course of conversation threads may steer away from the originally created topic or intended theme deliberate sabotage or steering of a thread away from it's originally and clearly stated topic or purpose is forbidden.
Please create a new thread or post in a new section to avoid this problem.
If you have suggestions for what you think is a needed or missing section please PM a mod and we will run the idea past Nuno and other members.
Spamming and Unacceptable Content
Posts of any advertorial nature selling or promoting products or other websites is strictly forbidden.Posts of a racist nature, posts containing pornography or posts containing or linking to warez will be instantly removed.
Also falling into this category are members who repeatedly post non-sensical or off-topic threads and posts in such a manner and amount it saturates and effects the over-all tone of the boards and it's topics.
Sharing Lungs is a message board, not a personal blog and the @User section is the place for such day to day posting.
Creation of threads
Threads must be created with a clear intent and purpose in regards to both topic and tone and must also be started in the correct section.Threads that are created with out a clearly stated topic, threads started in the wrong section, and threads started with the clear intention of instigating arguments or flames will be removed, moved or locked so please make sure your thread does not break these clearly stated guidelines.
Moderation
It is the intent of Sharing Lung's moderators to be fair and keep these boards civil without lessening the enjoyment of Sharing Lung's members.If you have any suggestions, complaints or thoughts on the moderation process or of a moderators specific actions please either PM the mod or feel free to start a thread in the "Suggestions, Comments and Help" section of the forum.
Raising moderation issues or complaints is disallowed in any other section.
Warnings/Banning
Breaking of any of the above rules may result in a warning via PM.
Continuation of bad behaviour or breaking of the forum rules or guidelines in anyway once a warning has been issued will result in a 5 day ban.
Continuation of bad behaviour or breaking of the forum rules or guidelines in anyway once a temporary ban has been lifted may result in a permanent ban.
Conclusion.
It is the intent of the moderators and administrator to create a fun and friendly board so enjoy and feel free to contact any of us at any time with concerns or suggestions on how we can help you more enjoy your time here.
Sharing Lungs is a community and as such we are all responsible to each other for the tone and enjoyment of these boards.
Sharing Lungs Moderator Rules and Guidelines.
Moderation Philosophy.
Moderation is a privilege....not a right.
As such we should all be able to communicate openly and freely amongst each other with the goal of making these boards friendly, open, clutter free and most of all enjoyable for the Sharing Lung's community as a whole.
General Moderation.
Locking of threads, removal or editing of posts, warnings and temporary bans are the right of individual mods within the realm of the forum guidelines being broken.Any abuse of these tools should be reported in the moderation section of the forum.
Abuse of the individual moderation powers may result in a revoking of moderation status.
Notification of Moderation..
Threads that are locked must contain a post from the moderator who locked it simply stating "locked" so we can monitor any possible abuse of this function.Threads must be locked for 2 or more days before removal and instant removal of threads is disallowed unless it is highly offensive in which case it should also be reported in the moderation section.
Warnings and temporary banning must be posted in the relevant thread (which we can start if this goes ahead) stating the reasoning and justification for said action.Post removal is at the discretion of individual mods but must not be abused.
Moderation Reversal.
Any moderation in the form of post deletion, thread locking, warnings and temporary bans may only be reversed by the moderator who instigated said action.Any moderators who disagree with said action should raise the issue in the moderation section of the forum stating clearly their concern and justification for reversal.
If it is agreed that the moderation was wrong by the majority of mods it will be reversed.
Moderation Privacy
Moderation rights will be instantly revoked if a moderator lets another member on his/her account or relays discussions in the moderation section to general users without permission.
Permanent Banning
If a member is still breaking forum guidelines after a temporary ban two moderators may raise the issue of the need for a permanent ban in the Moderators section supplying just cause and reasoning for the ban.If Nuno agrees the ban is justified it is permanent and any subsequent accounts started by the banned member will be deleted on sight.
Moderation frequency.
Moderators should sign on at least once every two weeks.If not possible, without a good and clearly stated reason, moderator status may be revoked.

But i'm still so sceptic about this. SL is such a small place, we're so close to each other and we feel the community. I think, rules won't improve this feeling. Moders, trying to folllow these rules literally, will destroy all fun of this place. I hope i'm wrong but still...

when it comes to flaming and name-calling, just use your common sense. I'm sure everyone on here can take a joke. as long as it's fun for both parts, then it's fine. if a member is repeatedly attacking someone else that's when it becomes a problem.
as for porn, I know it sucks. we discussed it when creating the rules and in the end it was decided to be this way to keep the board safe for work and for the sake of Nuno's sponsors.

nothing was getting out of control at all. A couple mods were just butt hurt because they want everyone to think they are important and suck their cock because it says "global moderator" under their user name. Its pretty pathetic actually.
Anyways people dont get online to find more rules. This is stupid. I hope making a hand full of mods happy was worth guaranteeing that this board never gets bigger or better than it is right now.

If you tell a member to fuck off, especially in a section such as this, your post will be deleted.
If you have an issue with mod actions use the Suggestions, Comments and Help section, @User section or PM a mod or Nuno and it will be raised in the mod section.If the mod is at fault action will be taken.
