I have never got one. Which sucks. I can't believe I have never even got Chlamydia. I'm a fucking WHORE and I still haven't gotten it. Even with some "risky behavior". Every time I get an STD test I cross my fingers for something.......but nope, nothing. well we were really bored on deployment. And I have all these medical books. So I was showing my Marines pictures of like ass herpes and all kinds of nasty skin diseases. Then one of them takes the book from me and looks up this STD I have never heard of and says he caught it. It looked EXACTLY like what I got. He said he went to the doctor and they said that it is an STD but it cures itself. You get it once, your body takes care of it, and thats that. I would look up the name of it, but the book is currently being shipped from Okinawa to here.

no and no. If you catch the syphilis early enough, which in the 1st world it would be ridiculous not to, then you are fine. Stage 3 is deadly , I think. But both are curable.
And yes, HPV is a form of warts. But like I said, probably everyone on this board has it. They say that if you have EVER had unprotected sex, you have it. I have never heard anything about HPV being treatable. That is why they had the big controversy over vaccinating 10 year old girls with the vaccine. Parents didn't want to admit that their 10 year olds would grow up and have sex. Doctors were trying to make them understand that they would probably rather have slut daughters than slut daughters with cervical cancer. Girls are getting hysterectomies at like age 22 and 23 because of HPV. Most of the time you don't show any symptoms. So I don't know how you would freeze the wart off if you didn't have the wart.....yeah, im Pretty sure there is not treatment for HPV
HIV and Herpes are both treatable though. Yes, that is correct. We have now eliminated all of the killer STDs. Not even HIV kill people these days. As long as they have money. Hep C can kind of sort of be classified a STD. But contraction of Hep C through vaginal intercourse is soooooooo unlikely that they really dont even classify it as an STD. I think the CDC technically calls it one. But says that you have a fraction of a % of contracting it. But as far as I know, there is still no Hep C treatment. So sucks for all you IV drug users. Because I have seen a couple people die from Hep C. And it looked miserable.

This was a rumor started in youth groups to try and scare kids to abstain ( Im dead serious ) The rumor got started by youth pastors telling kids that HIV molecules compared to the poors in condums is like throwing a bb through a tennis racket. But this is ridiculous. Just google it kids. Im HIV positive that there is tons of research on this out there

Yeah you might as well get the rest done. They can test for herpes and syphilis through your blood too. I would say that the blood is the most important part. But you might as well do the Q-tip too. It's not cool at all, and either the nurse or doctor will be doing it to you. They will put it in about 10 cm, twist it around, then pull it out. I have to do that shit to marines. I fucking hate doing that shit.

But when I worked at the ER in the civilian world, I had to do folly catheters to guys pretty much every day. I only had to do females once in a blue moon. It all sucks, but its part of the job.
But it will be a culture for bacteria. So they will test for chlamydia for sure. I think also gonorrhea. I'm pretty sure those are the only two. But I'm not a preventative med tech, so I'm not 100% sure. But I am about 99% sure. Also I'm about 99% sure that the blood test will be able to check for all the other STDs you would be worried about.
ok I'll just stick to the blood sample then... Should be pretty good enough for me.
And I don't really understand everything you talked about ("female paps", "folly catheters"), but in a way, I think I'm happy with my ignorance this time... ;)

yeah I was totally wrong. We got a really good lecture on STDs from my Medical Officer while I was in the field. Chlamydia doesn't show symptoms in up to 70% of men. I was grossly misinformed.
