This is a great rock band. Their first album In Loving Memory Of.... is their best with top singles like Blown Wide Open, The Oaf, That Song, and Under the Lighthouse. Here's a couple great songs off that album:

Ok, is there some kind of inside joke or something this forum has on this band? Beyond awful? I have no idea how any fan of rock/modern rock could possibly find this band anywhere near that bad. Who gives a shit about charts? It has nothing to do with quality. And they're more a Canadian band than anything where I believe they charted quite well. Albatross is better than Wasting Light and people seemed to go goo goo ga ga over that one. They've got more talent in their pinky fingers than most rock bands today have in their whole body.

Just because someone isn't feeling the some band that you enjoy doesn't mean they have something wrong with them. Maybe the Creed comparison was a little off, but this band .....meh
Honestly, they sound like every other generic "alt-rock" band out there.
Ok, so you like them, good for you...but don't get all butthurt because people think it's shit.
They play these guys on the radio here a LOT. I don't mind them. They have some alright tunes. Nothing stellar but nothing truly awful either. He sounds a little too Chris Cornell for me (fucking hate Chris Cornell) but whatever. It's harmless radio rock. Nothing really worth hating on. I won't turn the channel when it comes on but I won't rush out to buy their albums. Much like most Canadian bands.

normsteez: I said that because of the Creed reference which I couldn't believe I was reading. I was being overly harsh to make a point. They are no where near sounding like Creed.
And I'm getting so defensive or whatever because I am so surprised, not because there's some criticism towards them, but how it's like everyone posting here hates a band that I thought was quite well respected and regarded for their talent. They are certainly not a generic radio band. Listen to a whole album and not just a song or two. I especially couldn't believe the response after posting Blown Wide Open which is an excellent song. About as good or better than any Soundgarden classic.
