11 times. Would have been 12 but they didn't come close enough last tour. Looking back I should have gone to the Aragon show but I hate going to Chiraq. I considered going to the show with incubus at tinley but tickets are way too expensive to watch them with binoculars. I prefer to squirm my way through the other maggots and fight for the front. It's funny seeing how much sweat you can wring out of your shirt after. I remember some guy tried to pull my grip from the rail, like that was going to fucking happen. If you watch that video closely around 3:32 you can see me throwing the horns in front of the bouncer who I refer to as "Santa".

And did you read the comments for that FNM video? Are you trolling me or did you actually fall for that? Had me scratching my head for a second, it is a well executed shred. Reminds me of this other video that is an almost hard to believe piece of awesomeness. But this is the real deal. Guy who posted it hates FNM ironically. God bless him....

Damn not bad. Too bad terrorism always wins...

I just remembered this dream I had awhile back where I was eating at a dinner hall and Mike Patton walked in. He stood out because he was the only one there in a suit. I was like holy shit!, and I had to introduce myself. We get to talking and he asked me if I wanted to hang out, so we left the hall and when we get outside hes got this shitty 80's dented black spray bombed camaro or firebird whatever with a sub box in the backseat with rusty miss matched rims and big wheels on the back. He makes me drive him to his guys house so he could get some coke. So I'm waiting outside and he comes running out with guys chasing him. We take off and get into a car chase, we start getting shot at so he shoots back and takes out the driver. Then we cruised around for awhile doing coke and yelling obscenities at hookers, drunks, and random people on the street. Later on it was getting daylight and somehow we ended up out in the country. We drove down this dead end sand road and at the end is a farm. It was this western half grass half sand field with dead trees scattered around and mountains in the background. In the field there was a couple of bulls and Mike decides he wants to play chicken with them. I told him it as his car so he had to drive. We switch places and he proceeds to chase and bash into the bulls with his car. At some point he looses control and we end up crashing into this shallow ravine with the car stuck on top of a tree stump. We got out of the car and stood there for a minute trying to figure out how to get the car off until a farmer with a shotgun came out yelling, then Mike shot him. At that point he decided the fun was over and said he was going to walk home. He walked whichever way he though was back to town. I had no idea where the fuck I was so I decided I was going to hike up the mountains to get a better view and I started walking that way. Then I woke up.

I have to be honest...you are the last member I thought would post here. You are aware that your friends here don't like me right? 82ir@q is the only person to reach out to me and he started this so we could share random whatever for shits and giggles, although anyone is welcome. I've been waiting for the trolls to show up, and I don't know what's stopping them. I'm a simple guy, I really don't know where to start. What would you like to know? Could you start by introducing yourself? Where are you from? What do you do for a living? And just how fucking awesome are the Deftones?
Title: Re: @thewanderer
Post by: blixa on Jun 07, 2015, 12:34 PM
don't worry. no one liked me for a long time around here. my name is mariam and i'm from sydney. i'm a scorpio. i work at an art gallery. umm, can't think of much else. i've sort of lost track of the deftones to be honest. i haven't listened to them in a while. i like country and folk music and i've recently started listening to a bit of punk but just mates bands and stuff.
Title: Re: @thewanderer
Post by: thewanderer on Jun 07, 2015, 01:50 PM
No one liked you....until you posted pictures right? I find it strange that people who aren't into the Deftones anymore still come here. I mean no offense but could you explain what it is about this board that brings you back? Is it only for the friends you've made here? I'm just curious. I've always wanted to go to Australia. I have a huge interest in animals and I want to see the great barrier reef. Have you had the opportunity to dive there? There are also a shit ton of snakes and frogs down there which are my favorites so that's probably the part where I start grossing you out. I am an aries and currently a machinist although I am quitting to return to my old job as a poly wrapper operator. You know those bags you get magazines in with the your address printed on? I'll be doing that. Not the most glamorous of jobs but it pays well. As far as music goes I kind of find a way to like everything even if it annoys me. And especially if it annoys other people. Somehow it becomes novelty to me. Country and pop music fall into this category but it irritates me that most of the artists don't write their own songs. Anyone with "the voice" and "the look"can buy a hit and be successful. But a good hook is a good hook so I can't help but like some of it. Where I grew up everyone liked punk music and Metallica so for that reason I've always felt like I didn't need to. Some punk is alright but most of it just seems like an uncreative use of noise. I am eternally grateful Nirvana transcended it. So what country and folk do you like? It's funny I actually have tickets to Country U.S.A and I am going to see Kieth Urban with my mom at Summerfest. I was just bored and figured it would give us a reason to bond because we don't see each other much. Kinda bummed I don't get to see Erik Church at Country U.S.A though. He was the only one I actually wanted to see there but it's the same night as Kieth. She is fucking obsessed with Kieth. I though she was going to flip out when I was playing this Kieth Urban acoustic guitar she won. I was surprised by the quality of it, it has electric pickups and came with an amp. It gives me something to do while I'm at her house. Ok, I'll shut up now... hope you didn't fall asleep reading that.

no one liked me till they got to know me a little more. i posted pictures of my leg hair with mascara on so its not like they like me because i'm hot. i've been on this board 11-12 years. it's not that i don't like deftones. i just listen to other music. by country i mean will oldham, dolly parton, townes van zandt etc. deftones were a big part of my teen years. i mostly come here for the people.

make sure you see the barrier reef before it goes deeper to shit. machinists intrigue me.

Well I would state some obvious facts, but I'll spare you. I've been here a long time too but it's only recently that anyone has really talked to me. I come here just to keep up on what's going on with the 'tones otherwise. I can honestly say I like everything they do and like the direction they are going. It's not a lie I tell myself. I agree with some that wish they would do things a little bit differently but I don't place expectations on them. That's a recipe for disappointment. Older country is alright but I tend to like the bluegrass type stuff. I just like when a band plays hot. One of my favorite recent albums is Puscifer's 8 Ball bail bonds. The version of vagina mine on there is on fire. Drunk with power is another good one. I like some hot steel guitar and Junior Brown is one of my favorites. This Surf Medley is killer...

Anyways, machining is kind of a sore topic for me. I was hired by the ceo of the shop, that I have known since I was a teen and always looked up to. I grew up good friends with his stepson. He offered me the job and offered me a high wage and made promises of getting training to setup and program. I figured he was making an investment in me and I didn't want to let him down so I dove in and worked my ass off and proved myself more than capable. But then he hired a friend of his to be plant manager and he squashed any hope of that ever happening. It turns out I was told the same lies they tell everyone to get them in the door. My co worker who is the top machinist offered to train me and someone else programming off the clock and was shot down by the plant manager. This guy has the "everyone is replaceable" attitude and does not understand that good employees are the foundation of a successful business. They have already lost important people that they have yet to replace. Everyone on my shift is looking for a new job so I'm getting out while the getting is good. They are in for a world of hurt. It's a shame, I've lost the respect I once had for the owner, and he doesn't even seem to care. I'm an o.c.d. perfectionist and would have made one hell of a machinist. It's such a waste. But in the end it's alright, I'm hard working and tough as fuck so I will survive. I'll tell you one thing though, machinists are some hard headed, ignorant, and arrogant motherfuckers. I'm surprised I haven't bitten my tongue off.

You know, I downloaded that movie but I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. All I know is that he was responsible for someone getting hurt or something and had guilt issues. And yeah I learned alot I just wish it would have been enough to make going to another shop worth it. It's also a bit hazardous with grinding metal and I've been concerned about breathing it or getting it in my eyes. My lungs are fucked enough with years of smoking I don't need metal dust in them too. Some of the chemicals we use are also pretty nasty. Otherwise it was kinda fun. It is what it is, I have no control over the situation, but neither do they but they won't realize it until it's too late. Or probably never. They will just play the blame game that I have become accustomed to. I strongly believe pride is man's greatest weakness, so I don't mind going back to my old job. Fuck em'. My last day is the 11th so I'm out. Anyhow enough whining about that shit. I live in Wisconsin between Lake Michigan and Lake Winnebago. I'm not a big city guy. It's quiet here and I love it.

Lol. I quit for 3-4 years but I still smoked pot. I quit that awhile back but the guy I've been working with smokes cigarettes constantly so I broke down. When I go back to the old job I won't have as much freedom to smoke so I will probably quit again.

So what are your favorite eats/drinks? Are you vegetarian, pescaterian, or carnivore? I'm mainly carniverous and I have a sushi addiction. There is a place in Appleton that makes the best tuna tartar I've had. I don't eat my fruits and veggies like I should but I like brussel sprouts and I love raspberries and peaches. As far as drinks go I like Becks beer, or Heineken in a pinch. I make white russians with absolute vanilia which are awesome. I also like some captain with rootbeer. Sometimes I do the cheap wine thing and get the mondo jug of Carlos Rossi sangria or sweet red.

i quit for 3 years and started smoking when i went to art school. how old are you? you sound very late 20s and white male.

i like japanese beer and flat whites. i'm vegan. i don't like sweets except when i'm on my period and i like a good dark hot chocolate because it has that slight bitterness i like. i like all foods generally. whatever i find ethically right to eat i will consume.

I'm 34, white, but I still look like I'm 16. I get carded all the time and I'll probably never look my age.  I'm guessing you are mid 20's?

I totally forgot to mention Sapporo! It has to go hand in hand with my sushi.

I made time to watch the machinist and holy fuck did Bale look like hell. It was quite the schizophrenic guilt complex mind fuck. Kinda reminded me of vanilla sky in that way. I just watched dallas buyers club last weekend and McConaughey looked like a stick man in that. He actually did a damn good job. I would say the same for jared leto but all he really had to do was show up and be himself ;D.

Those were some antique lathes and mills they operated in the machinist though. I wouldn't run that shit I like my limbs and fingers too much. I was thinking about posting a vid of the same machine I operate in action but I couldn't find a decent video that really does it justice. Or maybe it's just more boring than I want to admit. I guess the shop I work at actually made parts that are on the mars rover. When I started there I thought that was pretty cool.
Title: Re: @thewanderer

late 20s, middle eastern descent. i also get carded, but i've worked as a bartender and in bottle stores for a long time so i'm not going to complain. it's hard to tell when someone is 18 though because all 18 year olds look heaps old nowadays.

did you know he wanted to lose more weight but the director wouldn't let him. i really liked the darkness of the film. really good. i never used to like mcconaughey till true detective to be honest. they should have cast an actual transgender actress instead of jared leto.

I've always liked McConaughey. He comes off as an arrogant dumbass to some but I never got that vibe. To me he seems confident and mellow, and a bit goofy. He reminds me of Woody Harrelson in a way. Those are two guys I'd like to fish and drink beer with. I feel the opposite about Brad Pit, Edward Norton, and Mark Wahlburg although I do like their acting. How Mark went from Marky Mark to the respected actor he is now displayed social gymnastics I will never comprehend.

And I think they should have cast Tim Curry. Everybody do the Time Warp!

Now what would make you think I haven't seen that movie?  I appreciate the arts. Its because I'm a deep southener I get it ..asshole.

Lol actually man all the motel scenes for that movie we're filmed about 10 min walking distance from my house. No shit. The motel they used is in a real grimey crime ridden area just off a major high rise . They didn't change a thing they just rented it out and had police block the streets off while filming. They just closed the neigborhhod store that the store scenes were shot in last October also.

And yes , I was expecting a sing and dance number from Leto.

HAHA!  ;D I wasn't making assumptions it's just something I wouldn't watch normally and I didn't know if the same applied to you. I don't take much time to watch movies anymore and I have a lot of catching up to do. That's cool parts were filmed close to you. The closest thing to me was Public Enemies with Johnny Depp in Oshkosh.

Have you ever been to a Rocky Horror audience participation show? It's a fucking riot. We don't get too many real transvestites here though, mainly guys with full beards in drag. And there was a big fat bearded guy with caterpillar eyebrows in a pink tutu.

Damn I'm sorry to hear that. I'm very indifferent to death and I envy those who pass on. I don't know the circumstances but I'm guessing he died as a result of his own actions doing what he loved, so try to remember the mountain as a memorial and a celebration of his life. I don't know if that can help you see it in a more positive way, I just don't like the thought of you hating the mountain because of him. I'm guessing he probably loved that mountain, and would want you to.

I wanna say I went to Champagne to race 1/10th rc stock cars when I was a kid but that was a long time ago so I can't say for sure. I tried looking on the map to remember the city but it was so long ago, and my car was being a piece of shit so it wasn't much fun. The only part I really remember was the drive home with my dad and we got stuck in a traffic jam in Chicago. My dad flipped the fuck out and was trying to find a faster way around it but ended up in Chinatown! He was screaming and beating on the steering wheel saying "MERGE!!" "JUST FUCKING MERGE!!" I was trying so hard not to laugh. I haven't told that story in a long time, and I'm about to fall out of my chair right now! ;D "JUST FUCKING MERGE!!"

Like I've said before, big cities aren't for me. Too many people every where at all times. I hate waiting in traffic, in a line, or for anything for that matter. I like the buildings though, the architecture. Driving through Chicago at night is quite a sight.

Night driving in chicago (or actually any big city) ftw.

Where you at, wanderer? Still in Illinois? I'm just outside Chicago in the burbs these days.

I have to disagree. You just need moonlight, and some fireflies.

I can't say a lot about Illinois because I haven't seen the whole state, but from what I have seen the topography is a bit flat.
Not dissing it, just saying.

I've become partial to Wisconsin mainly because of the landscape. We have hills, bluffs, cliffs, waterfalls, prairies, forests, rivers, rivers with cliffs(The Dells), an a ton of lakes among other things. Everywhere you go there is something different to see. It's a Nature Boy thing I guess.

With my job I have a rotating shift where I spend a few months working days and then a few on nights so its back and forth. I get to experience all hours of the day and dusk to dawn is my favorite. There is something about the hours from about 2 untill 5 that I feel like I have the world to myself.

I don't have a photobucket or whatever image host the cool kids are using nowadays. Any recommendations? I've been wanting to share some random pictures but haven't had time to be fucked with it.

And I will be extending an invitation to anyone who wants to meet me soon. Just give me some time.

I think we might have reached the end of the space-time-feed-back-loop. Don't know what I'm talking about? Neither do I. I'm just making this shit up. Nevermind.

I want to ask some questions for anyone who may be reading this and might have the proper wisdom to answer logically.

Have you ever experienced Deja vu? How often? Do you think it is a result of actual repetition, intuition, or precognition? And how often would you have to experience it in order for it to seem abnormal?

How about coincidences? Are they merely coincidental, or do you think that they could be supernatural? What if you noticed a coincidence, made a prediction based upon it, and your prediction was correct? Would that be coincidentally coincidental or supernaturally supernatural?

And what is the IMF? What the fuck are SDRs? And what the fuck does it have to do with all of the tea in China?
(no really, don't answer that.)

Anyway, it's time for a little trivia. This one is for Bright Lights. Here's the deal, and here's the question.

I'm going to post a picture of myself if you can tell me....where was this picture taken? C'mon it's almost a freebie.

Ok I'll give you a hint. I found it quite amusing that this was posted in a truck stop restroom. I can't imagine truckers having much sympathy for the environment. Lets say someone was breezing though Chicago and wanted to gas up and get a quick bite to eat, where would be the easiest place to stop?

Here's your Bright Lights and Big city. My driving while photo taking skills are unmatched.

That's looking from the south I think, so that's the Dan Ryan Expressway. Probably near the Sox stadium. But where do you stop along the way? Don't think there's any oasis along that stretch.

You're right the picture was heading north from the south side, I was returning from vacation in Florida. The correct answer was the Oasis. Lol I just realized now that they misspelled it.  I took that picture on the way south. That sign was in the restroom for a few years like that but I was disappointed to see it was gone this summer.

so we're allowed to turn right at a red light. HOW DOES THAT WORK FOR YOU. DO YOU TURN LEFT?

Actually a friend of mine just went on his honeymoon to Wales and Scotland and rented a car. He said the transition was easier than expected, just some roads are super narrow. From my experiences in Europe, narrow roads are awesome. Forces you to walk or get a bike. The US needs more paved-with-stone, narrow, old school roads. They're legit.

I know it's such a sensitive subject, like the metric system we should have switched to. I haven't driven European roads but I know metric is easier.  We should have adopted that shit long ago.

This is completely unrelated but it is killing me right now.

Ok, funny story. This guy<<< locked his keys in his car for the first time in probably 15 years because his battery was dead in his key fob and was too lazy to replace the battery. I was just using the key to open the door and locking it manually. I sat in my car on break and set my keys and soda on the passenger seat while I took a little nap. I woke up and grabbed my soda but forgot the key. Luckily my co worker loves driving and was down for the road trip to get my spare. Bet you've never seen a Saturn like this before...... Words cannot describe the look on the faces of bystanders.

Post by: thewanderer on Oct 04, 2015, 02:21 PM
I knew it was going to happen. I kept telling myself to replace the battery but when I get done with work I just want to go home.

The last time it happened was in 2000 when I was 19. I was on break at work and showing off my new JL 12" subs blasting the latest hit at the time, maybe some of you have heard it. It's called "Keep Rollin". My friend wanted to hear how loud it was with the doors shut.......

KEEP ROLLIN' ROLLIN' ROLLIN' ROLLIN'...............

Fuck that was funny. I learned how scary easy it was to break into my car in a hurry.

So anyway the crash test dummy has struck again but this time a vehicle wasn't involved. He hit his head on a wooden crate. Flesh wounds are cool.
He has winterized the car now with a hacked up truck bed liner behind the seats. It actually looks kinda cool in a hillbilly redneck way. I'll take more pictures when I get a chance.

In the holiday spirit it is time for a re-telling of the craziest dream I've ever had. It happened in late November or early December 1998. I remembered this dream well and have told it many times. I couldn't make this up if I tried....

It happened like this....

I was sitting in a local dive resterant known as "The Lions". This was your typical gathering place for underage beatnicks, trenchcoat mafias, goths, and other assorted counter-culteral misfits. We preferred this vs. the ever fabled "Country Kitchen" because it was located downtown. So I was sitting there drinking my shitty coffee and smoking when this guy I know walks in. I'm going to call  him by his nickname which was "Butt", I don't know how he got the name, don't care, all I remember is he hated being called that. So he walks in and tells me he needs my help and wants me to come with him. I didn't have shit doin' so I went.

So we leave the resterant and get into his mom's shitty volvo station wagon. I ask him where we are going but he says it will be explained when we get there. He drives trough the country for what seems like an eternity. I try asking him where we were going but all he would say is we are almost there.

Finally I begin to see what appears to be a military base. He pulls in the driveway and someone at the gate checks his identification. At this point I'm asking him what the fuck is going on but he just tells me to relax. He parks the car and we are immediately escorted by military personel into a room where we are given black ops military fatigues. So we change and they lead us to another room where we are given M4's and remote explosives and given a brief training on how to operate them. All this time I am trying to figure out wtf is going on....

After our training we are lead into another room. This one is like a classroom and is filled with military personnel. Someone shows us where to sit and soon the general comes in........... "Gentlemen, Saddam Hussain is attempting to build the WORLD"S BIGGEST CHRISTMAS TREE, and you two are the only ones who can stop him. There is a shipment of giant christmas ornaments being sent from China and you need to destroy them. We have a C-130 ready for your departure. Good Luck."

So we get rushed out onto the plane and fly for what in dream time felt like a minute. Someone says we have reached our destination and hands us parachutes. The back of the plane drops out and we jump....

As we decend it becomes apparent we are in the persian gulf, the ship beneath us. It is nightime so we stealthly glide our way onto the ship unnoticed. The deck of the ship was filled with boxes of ornaments like you see at the store, except the ornaments were ten feet tall.  We start planting our explosives but as the last one is placed we get noticed and a firefight ensues. We shot everyone on the boat and planted our explosives so I said now what? Butt was already on the radio calling for our transit.

Just then this red Miami Vice boat pulls up and Butt says get in. We get on the boat and the captian was this kid I went to school with named James. James was huge into wwf wrestling and the first thing he said was "Did you see Hogan on Smackdown last night??" "No. No I didn't... just get us the fuck out of here."

Just then we start getting chased and shot at by some Arabs in Miami Vice speedboats. We tried to evade them, but couldn't. James said, "I'm gonna beach it, you guys run". So he drives the boat onto the beach and it flew through the air hitting pedestrians causing explosions and awesomeness. James stayed back to protect what was left of the boat, and Butt and I ran. We managed to hot-wire a Dodge Caravan which are common in Saudi Arabia. We were running low on ammunition so we decided to go to Fleet Farm which are also common in Saudi Arabia.

While we are gathering our ammo we noticed we are being watched buy these guys wearing a fez and figured it was trouble. We run out of Fleet Farm to our Dodge Caravan and drive off into the sunset.

The End.

I really should have seen this coming. Clairvoyance and premonition are a bitch to live with. It appears to me that I have been savagely trolled by my favorite band. Or maybe I'm just crazy, but to quote myself,

Quote from: thewanderer on Oct 05, 2015, 02:54 PM

If someone says you are crazy, swallow your pride and consider it as a possibility.

So I guess that's it. All this time I've had this eerie feeling. It's been like this for over a year. Like I've been here and seen this before, not only here but in real life except it is always broken and out of focus.

I don't just say this shit. There are no coincidences. Only fate. And the joke is on me. I took some time today to reflect and for some reason getting trolled brought it all into focus. The proverbial "her". She was only one thing that ever left me defeated, and she is narcissistic to the core. And it's the same thing that brought me to Deftones. They were the only thing that could sooth the burn. But that was a long time ago, and in the same way I don't dwell on her I'm not going to dwell on this. The jury is in and the verdict is retarded. So I'm turning on the screw. At least I can admit it. I have nothing to prove. I just want to have fun. I'm not sad about this, I actually think it's pretty funny. April fools came early this year, so I am going to use "The Fleek" to extend it the entire year.

So I'm just going to leave you with this, your moment of zen.

I like how a bunch of white people here in the US are talking about moving to white Canada, instead of Mexico once Trump gets elected (even here in the south). They claim Trump and his supporters are racist, yet Bernie supporters overwhelmingly live in middle to upper middle class neighborhoods that have the highest density of white people in the United States.
These people, who are the most sheltered from the the impact of illegal immigration, somehow think their opinion is more valid than the people actually living with the immediate consequences of those policy decisions("dumb, poor, trailer trash, racist rednecks"). Shit's weak
