I might be wrong but I remember they played "roller derby" around this time or (maybe a few months earlier) at a show and we got a single (Leathers)in August ( I think) of that year when their last album dropped. A new song will be probably be on the setlist every date they have coming up on the tour with Incubus and we will either get that song or another from the album late summer . It's not coming out in when Chino said though. Late October the earliest or early to mid November is my guess. Who knows..

Thing is, the songs are all done. They could play a new song if they wanted to, because the songs are all finished. So it's not like they can't play a new song because the album isn't ready, which means the date would get pushed back. They've chosen not to play any new songs for whatever reason, so they could still keep the release date the same. I don't know why they haven't played a new song yet, though, it's weird. Ah well, I'm remaining hopeful.

Wow. According to Chino, YouTube has only just been invented? Haha come on, dude, I remember us all going insane over Rocket Skates and Roller Derby. Plus it gets everyone hyped up and excited for the album. These guys really suck at promoting their albums, the only clips we've heard are from people that aren't in the band. We'd barely know they're making an album if it was just down to them. Hearing them play a new song live, seeing those videos emerge, having something we can actually listen to, does a lot for people looking forward to a new album.
Well, at least we know this isn't a reason to worry about the album being delayed a lot.
Late October or November are most likely better bets for the release date. A single would literally have to drop in the next week or two to coincide with a September 25th release. I don't see that happening if they are still in the mixing phase. I'm cool with that, though, because late fall is the perfect time for Deftones music.

Maybe it points to what they were saying about doing something different, if the songs are more textured and abstract it makes sense for them to be worried about how they come across on bad youtube recordings, Rocket Skates and Roller Derby were straight forward heavy guitar songs with riffs you could bang your head to, if they're doing something a bit weirder the songs may not translate through youtube as-well as those higher energy songs did.
the first song deftones played live from koi no yokan was rosemary. not a particularly hard hitting song and it sounded just fine. just saying

Edit: Well... Trivium just dropped their new single and the album comes out October 2nd, so we won't be seeing an early October release from Deftones unless we hear of the single soon.

Pretty sure the current tour is the one with Incubus up until the end of August. Maybe they'll announce the album and release the first single after that so they can play the new song on their following shows in late September and October. Which is insane. I don't think I can handle waiting this much longer :-\

Seriously, what is taking them so long? No new songs, no album title, no cover, no tracklist, no final release date. Yet they finished up the album in what feels like an eternity ago and basically the only thing they told us about it is "We had a good time making it" and "It's just another Deftones record. What a way to kill the hype.

I don't see that happening, to be honest. After all the record company is still in charge of everything and they certainly wouldn't release the album without some sort of promotion. I'm sure they demand an announcement two months prior with a first single.

Agreed, I'd like to see what Sergio brings to the table with the 6 string. With all that extended range I'm sure there will be a few heavy tracks on the record... that small snippet with Cantrell was really grungy in a good way. But he could be doing more of that experimental bass slides, grooves and phrasings like you hear in Swerve City and Prince for example.

Definitely! He can add an entirely new mid-range layer to their music with the two additional higher strings. He doesn't have to play the low end alongside Stephen anymore and can be more distinguishable. I'm excited to hear more Sergio in the mix

The band is confident and it feels like they know they are hoarding the gold. Chino sounds awesome as ever. And Jerry Cantrel??? 6 string bass??? I've been apprehensive about Sergio playing with a pick vs. Chi but now i think this is going to transcend to a whole new level. The atmosphere and sonics of the last album are the main reason I liked it so much. I've said that Tempest is my favorite song, but I gravitate to what I like from what's fresh. There is just something about those lyrics and the build up to that first chord of the chorus. It sounds like EPIC FUCKING DOOM, and when they play it live it looks like they are really having fun. But in all seriousness S/T will always be home so don't get that all twisted. I know some of you old school die hards haven't liked the direction the last few albums gone but I've always felt like this has just been a prelude to something greater. I'm always gonna love this band rain or shine, but I really want this album to deliver what those you who have been discontent with recent albums have longed for. The third album with Sergio will be the trifecta, and I have a really good feeling about it.

Thats funny because ATF is also my favorite but my 2nd fav is Diamond Eyes. Goes to show how much of a difference of opinion there is among deftones fans. My girlfriend (whom doesn't normally listen to metal) actually bought Diamond Eyes for herself. When she first heard Butcher and Beauty School she mentioned she liked the songs, then SexTape came on and she was sold. The album actually brought us closer.
And right about now the record company is sitting on a big fat heavy single waiting to drop it on us, probably laughing because it's so good and that they can't share it yet lol

Dude no shit they will lol, they're doing this on purpose. Quite the same happened with Diamond Eyes, it came out on May 4 and they started including loads of DE songs in the setlist on April 27.
I really hope they mix up the setlist. Doubt it though.
If the new album doesn't leak, I doubt they'll play "loads" of the new songs a week or two before its release.

No, the co-headling tour with Incubus is over. Their next tour starts at the end of october, although they have three seperate dates in late September. Still, they now have three weeks off. Plenty of time to get the wheels turning in terms of album promotion

KNY was announced on August 30th and came out on November 13th. If the new record comes out on November 20th an announcement this week doesn't seem too unlikely. Probably just the album title and a release date, though. For the first single, tracklist and album cover we'll have to wait for another eternity, I'm pretty sure.

I like the fact that nothing has been announced or a single has been released, it keeps the album more of a mystery (I know it's Deftones we are talking about, and a lot of it is probably down to laziness by the band)
Keeps me in anticipation of the album
I recently watched an interview from 2010 in which Stephen already mentioned that he believes doing no promotion whatsoever could avoid their records from leaking too early. Maybe this is what they're going for this time, after all.
It's cool in theory, if you drop your album out of nowhere with no hints that you've been writing and recording music, so the fans can't even anticipate anything.
But they've been letting us known they were up to something for pretty much one and a half year now, already posting pics from the writing and studio session and handing out tentative release dates. Now to me that feels more like a "fuck you, you don't deserve anything" to us fans, if they don't feel the need to follow up their constant teasing with results.
Not really surprised about the lack of info for the new album but doesn't it seem like there were barely any interviews on the tour with incubus? What did we get like 3 interviews or something?

Sergio is a great bassist and I'm glad the 'tones have him. That said had Chi never got in an accident and remained it would've been cool to have heard him use a 7 string bass with his Studio One influenced style and how that would've worked with Steph's current 8 string Djent-y style.

Warner Bros. just announced a record by one of their artists for a November 20th release with album details and a first single. If the tentative release date for the new Deftones record (also November 20th) is still in debate, an announcement with album details and the first single might follow very soon as well, since it's the same label.

Oh good, then there's hope. Hell, even if the date gets pushed back a bit, it can easily be an early December release or something. At least it shows that it's just the way the record company is going about things, as opposed to trying to compare it to the announcements of other bands' albums/singles.

Something in the way of news or a song might come along relatively soon (late October, probably November) but as far as the actual album, we're probably about 3 months out at the earliest.

No. Record companies don't just sit and wait. They're doing everything you've mentioned. In fact, they just announced another artist releasing an album in late November, and that announcement was yesterday. There's lots of time for them to release a single and promote the album for November release date.
They probably don't produce much in the way of compact discs so that wouldn't take long to manufacture maybe a week. And maybe another week for shipping. Plus most albums have a digital release.

Looks like the tweets from both those people have been deleted.
I think it's most likely going to be December or January at this point. I could be wrong, and I know some groups definitely have announced tight releases recently. I just see it also being 3 months out due to them being on tour, and the overseas shows still on the schedule. I bet we get a release date for either december or january, after the tour has ended, and for them to be home to promote the release.
Or maybe it will be out in 2 more hours lol

Edit: Really not sure if it's Deftones. It sounds heavy, but I can't make out Stephen's 8 string, just a bass guitar. Also the drums sound a little too hectic and busy for Abe. On the other hand Chino described the sound of the album with "lots of keyboards and spacey, low frequencies", which definitely applies here.

Pretty cool news if legit, I think the fact the music is mostly done aside from some post stuff is a great sign because it puts it more in the record companies hands and it's unlike record companies to sit on things for too long, aside from factors like a release conflicting with a competing artists album release record companies seem to be eager to get things out and start getting money in once the musics finished, it's not as if a band like Deftones requires a huge publicity drive either the record company will know they will get not huge but respectable numbers with just typical press runs and some targeted advertising.

There's been some misleading information in the press about the new album and its release date. What's the status?
To be completely honest, we still don't have a title yet. Our label came to us and said we could wait wait until the first quarter of the new year—which works much better for us. That's the plan right now but don't hold me to it. We don't even have song titles nailed down yet. I couldn't even tell you one now if I tried.

i'll be getting my driver's license back on December 26, so that'll be perfect timing for me if the album comes out during the first quarter of next year. I can just drive around aimlessly listening to a new Deftones record.

Izzy of the 105.1 The Blaze radio station conducted an interview with DEFTONES drummer Abe Cunningham and turntablist/keyboardist Frank Delgado at this past weekend's Aftershock fetival in Sacramento, California. You can now watch the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On DEFTONES' upcoming follow-up to 2012's "Koi No Yokan" album:
Delgado: "It's being mixed now. It started being mixed a couple weeks back. They're actually going tomorrow to go down and listen to mixes and do things and... We're mixing and we still are in the process of [finalizing the] album title, artwork, songtitles. We haven't even got there yet. But the music's done."
On the writing and recording process for DEFTONES' new album:
Delgado: "You know what's cool? We had some [release] dates that were already kind of tentative. But we were [putting the finishing touches on the album] and the label actually came in. They were, like, 'Hey, guys, for the first time ever, you guys wanna just take your time, make it right, and then we'll release it in the first [quarter] of the year?' And we were, like, 'Wow! Yeah. That sounds great.' And that was actually how we wrote the record. We would go and we'd meet up in L.A. and we'd write for, like, two-three weeks, we'd go home for a week or two weeks, and we'd go back to L.A. and write for a month, then go home for three weeks. So it was very relaxed and very chill. Then we'd do a couple of shows in between all that, and then we were ableto jam our ideas on soundcheck. And we have never done it like that. Usually we'd be, like... They'd say, 'You need a record out at this time.' And then you're, like, 'Oh, shit! We've gotta go in the studio.' Now you've gotta be creative and turn it on within this short amount of time, and write and record. But this one's been hella cool, because it's been at our own pace, at our discretion, and it's been different and really good. And it works for us too, especially now at this time in particular for who we are as musicians and men. A lot of the guys got kids and families, so it worked out for that part of the thing really well."
Speaking about the new album's musical direction, DEFTONES singer Chino Moreno told a radio station this past summer: "Every time we make a record, our main focus, with anything, is to try different things, and try things maybe outside our comfort zone a little bit. But this time, this record, one thing that's really cool, sonically, is that our bass player [Sergio Vega] is really not so much playing... He does play bass on some of the record, but [on] a lot of the record he plays a Bass VI, which is a six-string bass, which is more like a baritone guitar, sort of. So the way his frequency works with my guitar frequency and Stephen's [Carpenter] guitar frequency, it kind of [gave] it a different sound."
Chino also talked about the songwriting process for the follow-up to 2012's "Koi No Yokan". He said: "It's never easy, I don't think. I think we found better ways to work nowadays. We used to have our own studio in Sacramento, and we didn't have set hours or anything like that. We would show up at the studio at eight o'clock at night, and we'd get there, and we'd have no focus. I mean, we'd sit there for two hours watching 'Lost'... Seriously, we would just waste a lot of time, and by the time we'd start playing our instruments, it was midnight or one o'clock in the morning. We were taking three years sometimes to make records. And I attribute that to a lot of different things, but that was one of the main things. A couple of records back, we adopted this [routine] of going in at this hour — we start at noon and we end at five. And the room that we actually write in is pretty small, so while we're in there, we wanna be actually doing something productive. We just need to create, create, so we can get out of here for the day, and then listen to whatever we did the next morning, come [back] in, and do it again. We did, like, ten days, two weeks of writing sessions — going in and spending six days a week just doing that. We all live apart now — a couple of guys live in Sacramento, I live in Oregon, one guy lives in New York, and one guy lives in L.A. So, yeah, we all kind of fly in to meet at a certain spot and just work. And we all kind of go back to our little hideouts and come back and meet again. So it's kind of cool."
According to Moreno, sixteen songs were written for DEFTONES' new CD, which was once again produced by Matt Hyde (SLAYER, CHILDREN OF BODOM, MONSTER MAGNET, WINDS OF PLAGUE). The effort will feature a guest appearance by Jerry Cantrell (ALICE IN CHAINS).

As frustrating as it is for the album to be delayed by quite a bit, it sounds like it's a decision they're happy with, that it allowed them to perfect the album in their own way, so hopefully that's good news for us despite having to wait a little longer.

No real logistical reason just them not wanting to put it out until then for whatever reason, maybe they want a decent break because they know once the album gets around release time they need to do lots of media work and then tour to support it, the mixing, artwork and tracks can be done quickly but if they had set the album to release in February they would have had to get back to work in January, so my guess is they're trying to get a good break in with their families over the holiday season because they know it's going to be pretty non-stop once it's out.
I personally wish they would take the Mogwai approach and just randomly name songs and use any cool looking art but realistically that's not what's holding it back.

Nah, I love their song titles usually, haha. I don't imagine it'd take that long though, so yeah, you're right, that can't be why they're waiting that long. Can't blame them for wanting a break, I'm just impatient.

It might, partially, be a marketing decision as well. They don't want to release any singles until the songs are named, and they may want to give it a proper amount of time after releasing it/them before the album drops. It might also be easier to market the beginning of the year, with a couple months of everything finished, then a rushed marketing campaign right after everything's finished at the end of the year. It wouldn't be the ONLY reason for the delay, but it might be part of it (or at least the label's perspective of the decision), along with the guys themselves wanting a calm before the storm.

Andy Copping (Download Fest organiser) was recently on the 'that's not metal' podcast. Discusses organising the deftones Wembley show and some of the business decisions for choosing Wembley (quite interesting).
Also, as the UK deftones promoter, he's heard 5 songs from the new record that comes out in April. He said 4 of the 5 songs he heard are huge and said its going to be a monster year for deftones. Even said from what he's heard so far, this could be the record that sees deftones make the jump to a serious festival headliner.

We think there is a very good chance that the band will be offering the single as a free download with each ticket purchased.
It only took them six weeks from the time KNY was announced and the Leathers single was released before KNY officially dropped. So if Jan. 15 is the (tentative) release date for the first single, can we logically expect the new album by the end of Feb?

Haha, as if it's gonna happen... If the album drops in April we'll hear a single in march, if at all. Wouldn't surprise me if the album gets further delayed for whatever reason. I lost all my optimism towards the album release after all the delays and letdowns provided by the band and management.
There's literally been 1 delay. From Nov 20th to spring.

It was planned to be released around summer, then got a tentative date for September, which got pushed back to November. Then there was no word from the band until well after the planned release in November until Abe (I think) confirmed the delay to early 2016. They were talking about March until somehow April was suddenly the new date. Quite a few delays with very little input from the band.
I remember Abe also hoping to debut a new song at a UK Festival in Summer 2014, which didn't happen, obviously. Then there was the tour in 2015 were everyone anticipated a new song to finally be played live, which also didn't happen because the band thought it would be a great idea to wait until the album release. I'm not entitled to anything and I bet the music will be great, but everything about this new album was a constant build-up of anticipation and eventual letdown for me personally. I'm just tired of the band/management being so vague and carefree.

The article that addressed the Lubbock show presale and the new single was removed three or four days ago. I emailed the radio station manager and also wrote them on Facebook. Both responses were very similar and just said "More information coming soon". Obviously it is now very unlikely we get a new song Friday. I just wish the label or the band's management or whoever else would be a bit more transparent. Even if there will be no new single until March, at least let us know. Maybe no one knows though....

Damn, I'm in Amarillo (about 2 hrs away from Lubbock) so this is depressing. Hopefully it's at least pushed back a bit instead of just scrapped. When I went in 2013 it was a larger festival instead of just them headlining with a few openers, so maybe they're situating that but idk.

The article said something along the lines of "to coincide with the release of the band's new single, the onsale date for tickets to the show in Lubbock has been moved to January 15th." That page stayed up for close to a month but was removed 5 days ago. I understand it was never anything official from the band but I imagine they had some kind of information. They likely didn't just make it up. I emailed the manager of the radio station a couple days ago and all he said was "more information soon".
We'll probably hear some info on the next few weeks. Weezer just announced an April 1st release date for their new album, so it won't be long now.

Doesn't sound too legit to me. Doomed User is a Team Sleep song.
So, the album is called Gore and there's a song called Acid Hologram? Evidently Deftones are putting out an early 90's prog metal album.
And that tracklisting has already been taken down. Maybe Deftones management caught wind and had them get rid of it? I dunno, it's a legit radio station, right? *shrugs* Either way, if there isn't a new single/announcement in the next few days, then the March 18th date is bullshit.
And I don't think Doomed User being on this tracklisting automatically makes it fake. Deftones have "borrowed" Team Sleep songs before (Teenager, Lucky You) and Chino has recycled song titles before too (You've Seen the Butcher was some weird Eros-era instrumental before it became the song we know).
Still, "Acid Hologram", "Pittura Infamante" and "Geometric Headdress" don't really sound like Deftones titles to me. I'm not sure why, exactly, but they don't. They sound more Tool-esque.

Gore would be an awesome album title. Tracklist sounds like something one of those kitschy prog metal bands like Periphery would call their songs, though. I'm skeptical if this is legit.
It's funny, for how random their album/song titles are, it just doesn't seem Deftones-like at all. Plus the only reason the release date got pushed back was so they could take their time naming everything, right? I mean, the music was already done.

So now that we are finally inching towards the album release I can't help but wonder how it will sound. I am a fan of most all of their stuff in one way or another. I just hope there is still a fair amount of aggression. I have mentioned many times in the past that I believe most bands get more refined as they age. Their music softens and the heavier stuff is less heavy. This isn't always the case but I notice it happens more often than not. I liked the heaviness of Goon Squad on KNY but I am not a huge fan of the song overall. I guess I am wondering what everyone is hoping to hear from this album? Do you want more raw aggression or is the refined aggression fine for you? Or are you looking forward to the more atmospheric/lighter stuff?

Could be the cover for the single. If the previously posted tracklist is somewhat credible, then Gore is one of the songs on the album and this could be the single cover art. Just a thought.

You know, the more I look at this, the more I think it's real. The art style is remarkably similar to some of Frank Maddocks' other work, particularly the S/T and SNW booklets. Same grainy aesthetic. I hope it's real, because I'm not sure if anything else could live up to it. And if it isn't his and instead just fan made, then that fan should be designing albums covers for real. Definitely looks like some skill and talent was put into it.
I might be the one of the biggest suckers in the world, but it looks Deftones-ish to me. If not the cover for the album maybe the single.

Single artwork perhaps...
What bothers me with this artwork is that it's too well done: a picture of a girl with a blurry effect and shady colors, it's typical SNW/Team Sleep/Crosses or even KNY in terms of mood. Besides, it pops up from we barely know where just one day after the presumed tracklist leaks. It almost looks like Deftones themselves are spreading the rumors. As much as I'd like to believe it's genuine, it looks too much like something (really well) made by a fan.
Rumors said there was some truth to the tracklist/album title, maybe they're just working titles. I don't know, but Gore would certainly fit in well with an album that Chino said is darker and less optimistic-sounding than the last two. Kind of a boring title, but ah well. This is cool, it's getting very exciting, I just hope we hear some official news soon. It's long overdue.
If Gore it is, I'm digging it. It feels plain and explicit.

It's not that I enjoy it just because it is Deftones. They just always hit the spot for me. I am well aware that there could be an entire album that disappoints me. Hopefully that day never comes.

I've never been worried. There are some songs I don't really like, but very very few. I don't know, they always make music I love. Maybe some songs need to grow on me more than others, but I've never been worried that the direction they go in, or the song they'll release to us first, will disappoint me.

The rumors, hype and checking google for new info for months now is driving me fucking nuts. They havent disappointed yet, 8 albums in ... so I'm hopeful. Last I read, they recorded 16 tracks. So, even if that means 12-13 on the album..... and a handful of b-sides sprinkled across singles .... new deftones for bumpin for my amp/box in my car. I'm all in.
I wish they would bring back the script font like ATF, WP and S/T.. It was so sexy and went much better with their style.
I like the newer font. It's simple but for some reason I find it nice. That said, I don't care if they use comic sans as long as the music is good.

Stephen did an interview at the ESP booth during the NAMM 2016 show about 30 mins ago. I didn't see it myself but it was streaming. He said the album drops *April 8th*. Apparently he said it like it was no big deal and it was old news......I imagine the interview will be up on Youtube in the next day or two.
I guess what I was told was correct then. Maybe we can expect an announcement tonight/tomorrow.
I hope so. I know the band doesn't owe me/the rest of us anything but this lack of transparency is really aggravating. For me and surely many of the others on this board, new Deftones music/tour announcements/etc is like a big life event. When I heard a single was coming out on the 15th I was stoked beyond belief. Since then that article (which wasn't even official, it was posted by a radio station) was taken down and we have heard absolutely nothing since. We get a tracklist and an album name that could be real or fake with no announcement or confirmation from the band. I check this forum and a few other sites 20 times a day or more. I go to bed each night disappointed. Maybe that's just a problem with me. Maybe I need other stuff to look forward to lol. Deftones have always been my favorite band though and it's not even close. I just wish we would hear a date for a single or a date for an announcement. Maybe I'm crazy....

I wrote KFMX again. They were the radio station that initially reported a single would drop on Jan15th alongside a presale for Deftones show in Lubbock. Last time they said "more information soon." Today they said more information "very soon. Sorry for the cryptic responses".
Blah. If last week was "soon" and today it is "very soon".......then my guess would be a couple more days to a week before we hear anything.

It's only 10:30 on the west coast. Although I highly doubt anything will be announced today, it is still early in the day.
3pm EST would be the latest. If nothing is announced shortly after that then we could be looking at next week or possibly into February.
Not a regular on here, but I was looking at the screenshot of the track listing over on Metal Injection and it looked like there might be an 11th track titled "Dubious." Maybe I'm crazy, but that's what it looks like to me. I assume that the album will be at least 11 tracks, considering the amount of tracks they had been rumored to have written for the album.

I remember something from the interviews like 16 songs have been recorded during the sessions, and the album will have 12 (less sure about that one). So I assume at least 11 like the usual, if not more.

Yeah, I honestly didn't believe the tracklist was real simply because, for how random their song titles can be, some of them seem very different to what they usually do.
I think some of them were working titles but the album name might be real.
They did say the new album was a screwy in sound and if it's anything like those clips Chuck has posted then they could work being disordered/weird.

Although, I am starting to wonder if Prayers/Triangles and Hearts/Wires are songs with multiple "suites", for lack of a better word. Usually when a song has a backslash in its title, it's really two songs on one track. I'm probably wrong, though.
And I think that's just Steph's philosophy on the albums. He doesn't like to sit around and describe them in interviews, because he doesn't want to make unrealistic expectations for the listener. It's a trap Chino fell into in past interviews, where he'd always be describing the albums as being like White Pony. And really, what sounds just like White Pony? Nothing. His thinking is basically just "you'll know what the album sounds like when you hear it". Steph has always been like that in interviews.

The sign up has always been there. It was at the bottom at one point IIRC.
The email they send you is old. It creates a unique back link so thats why you get the "Unauthorized" thing for the fan club link: youre already a member. And the rest are old/havent been replaced. Ive gotten that a long time ago, nothing new.

New album sucks ass, that's why Warner wanted Deftones to work on it more and more. Chino & co. weren't happy with first mix, they tried smth else, it was even worse, so they got back to first, mediocre, mixing.
Sounds to me like they were 2 days into a new mix with Matt. Hopefully they don't just leave it to him and wait to hear the finished product again--I'm sure it'd be hugely helpful to Matt and to the final mix if they were injecting input into the mix of every track. Definitely sounds like we have a bit longer to wait if they're re-mixing again.

They're not mixing again. That interview was from October.
uhh ohh I feel the negativity creeping in haha. I am still holding out hope that it will be classic Deftones. I do not care about fonts, song titles, or covers on a cd. I just want great tunes to workout and run to. I was a fan of DE and Koi so that wont bother me if its along those lines. The thing I love about Deftones is that its Chino singing over sweet heavy guitar riffs from Carpenter with Abe banging on the drums. The reason I hate most metal bands is that you literally can not understand a word they say, and a good majority sounds the same to me. I love all of their cds so I have no reason to believe it will suck. Although their are several bands I use to love that as time went on they slowly started to miss the mark for me so I wouldn't be surprised if it sucked.

I think it sounds quite flat to be honest. I thought everyone keeps saying it sounds massive but Im not getting that impression from this mix. Could be the youtube compression or each song sounds truly unique like they said.

This sounds like it's gonna be even BETTER than KNY. I'm so hyped. So now we know the tracklisting and the album title are official.
It sounds a little post-metal-ish, which doesn't surprise me. I've noticed that the last few Deftones albums have been a lot like Chino's side projects of that era. Like SNW has sort of a Team Sleep vibe to it, KNY has a bit of a Crosses vibe, and now that Palms was the last Chino side project album I was expecting (hoping) for a post-metal vibe on their next effort. Very excited! This could be the best thing since ST, guys!
Yeah I like the new guitar sound it's a much nicer distorted tone, we'll still have to see how the lower register stuff sounds but I'm liking the fishman pickups.
Oh thank god, something real, finally. I think this is what we were supposed to be looking out for later. Shame it's just a teaser, but it's Friday soon, so must be getting a song then, surely?
Not sure how I feel about the actual music. It's good, but it's only 30 seconds of one song out of an album. To say it's going to be better than Koi No Yokan is...quite premature, haha. I think if Chino is right about this album being a lot darker-sounding than Koi No Yokan and Diamond Eyes (and it seems it, with a title like Gore), I'll love it more than those two. I love those albums, but I'm so ready for some dark-sounding music. Not necessarily heavy, just dark, less happy-sounding.

The song in the clip could be Prayers/Triangles. I'm digging the 30s of song that we've heard so far. It sounds better to me than most songs on KNY.

I personally think it'll be next Friday for a single. They posted the bottom right corner of the supposed album art from shazam. So if they continue posting each part then that is 9 days (feb 5th). So at the very least a new clip every day.
Or maybe the full album is 11 songs like the leak and we get a 5 song EP next Friday.

Anyone else not get a Deftones vibe from the tracklist/supposed album cover? It feels weird typing that, because their titles are often weird and random, and their album covers differ greatly too, so in theory anything is Deftones-like. But I don't know, I'd never have believed that tracklist was real or that the picture of the flamingos was the single/album cover, but here we are.
I quite like the picture, though I'd be interested in hearing how they came about choosing it.

A lot of people seem disturbed by the tracklist, but let's not forget that we've had curious song titles before (the konami code, cmnd/ctrl, xerces...), simply not so many at once. Chino has stated that the album would be surprising, so it's not unbelievable that the song names and artwork are too. I agree it feels odd for a Deftones album, but why not. It can work.

Oh yeah, I'm not disturbed by it, I'm incredibly excited. They do have weird song titles and I've always loved that, I just remember being 100% sure that the tracklist was fake because it seemed nothing like Deftones. The fact that the album is called Gore is enough to make me happy, since it adds weight to Chino's comments about the album being darker, and that's the only thing I didn't like about the last two albums; too happy-sounding. I can't wait for this album.

I thought the track listing was fake as shit at first, but now I'm actually hoping it's legit. Prayers/Triangles was, so it probably is, unless they make some changes. The titles definitely suggest dark vibes. Rubicon (passing the point of no return, unless it's about Chino's favourite soft drink), Doomed User, Gore, Pittura Infamante (look it up if you hadn't already). LMIRL (let's meet in real life) reminds me of WGTB, but I don't know what it'll be like. The 30 second teaser of P/T is very promising, but who knows what direction the vocals/lyrics are gonna take. I guess we'll hear the full song when the final flamingo square is posted.
Do we know when the single is releasing? I wish they would just be like most every other band and officially announce the album/trackslist/single date etc.
We can only speculate that it will air Friday along with the last piece of artwork, but officially nothing has been said regarding singles.

16 songs written/recorded, but I doubt all 16 will be on the album. On the screenshot of the tracklist, we can see ten songs plus an eleventh that we can't read clearly because it's cut off. So at least 11, but hey, hopefully more?

I think its a sticker meaning that the word Deftones isn't actually on the album cover, its not on the shirt.

Nah, it's on both vinyl and CD. Fairly sure it'll be on there
Most album covers that don't feature the name name have stickers on them for marketing purposes.
Would make sense since it's exactly the same as the sticker but I don't know, don't see this album without their name for some reason. Doesn't matter much anyway

It will be a sticker. Depends what colour you go for...

Added the Itunes Digital as it is now. I'll refrain to make up the Vinyls until there is info on track lengths and splits between the sides.
I think since White Pony has a few Covers without their name on it, it can be considered official depending on what release.
