does anyone watch this show? i never did but my friend had the season one dvd and i watched the entire season in 2 days
just wondering if anyone watches it
nope, but i know if u buy orvill redenbaucher popcorn you get 10 dollars off the dvd
of course, how can people not watch this show?
I watched like two episodes and I thought it sucked. I was expecting some interesting supernatural stuff going on, a bit of horror and sci-fi. but absolutely nothing ever happens in this series it seems. I've seen some small bits and pieces every now and then (just saw like 5 mins of todays episode) and it looks like nothing's happened since they arrived.

But why would you expect sci-fi from a series that's about being stranded on an island?
It's good, I'll buy the dvd of season 1 soon, would be nice next to my 24, Sopranos and X-files collection.

because after seeing trailers for a while I just thought there'd be something like that. they gave you the idea that those people would meet strange creatures in the woods. and they said stuff like "there's something odd about this island". and then it all ends up like some fucking reality show.
Still, 24 ey. What a series yo.

Who doesn't?
I'm watching Lost at the moment.. but it's kinda getting weaker and every episode seems like a fucking bible story or something. I like it though, but it's not what I thought it would be.
Heres how I would have done it: The thing in the jungle is a fucking dinosaur.. T-Rex preferably.. none of that gay Brontosuarus shit. It maybe eats one of them.. the Korean guy maybe, I don't like him at the moment. Something of a story develops also.
I'd call it Lost in Jurrasic Park or something. Jurrasic Park franchise + People getting eaten = Ratings.
I should pitch this idea.
But the creators do know how the series ends. The survivors will not learn they are part of some dastardly experiment, or discover they are in purgatory, or wake up from a bad dream. "These guys get off the island," said Mr. Cuse.
Then, nearly in unison, both men add, "If it's an island."
if its an island, fucking shit shitty shit fuck fuck
fuckin awesome
i thought the new ep was alright, watched invasion....meh.....
Michelle Rodriguez? what the F, I really don't like her and now they brought her into lost.
just wait, a lot of answers will be revealed in ep3

managed to get season 1 on DVD last week and me and my girlfriend watched all of it, best show on TV for a long time (over here anyway) I downloaded the first two eps of season 2 also.
Awesome show.
I don't understand that goddamn show. Maybe it's because I came into it way to late. I thought there was gonna be little Godzillas on the Island instead....I don't know what the fuck, it's not aliens and shit is happening...

Spoiler fuckin' mania. Thanks.
haha
Ahhh, thats better. Last episode shown here in UK was where Locke ties up Boone and puts that shit on his head that fucks him up. Without a doubt the best episode since the first. I gotta say, the series was losing me.. But they got me watching again now. When I thought that fucking monster thing had got his sister I was like "W..T..F...". And judging from the spoilers above, this shit is gonna get even better.
Locke is the fucking man. This new season is kinda dragging. I don't like watching week by week. I watched the first season on DVD in two days, waiting each week blows. Now it's off the air for three weeks.
Yeah we get it at like 10pm on Ch4, and the next episode straight after on E4, but I only set it to record the Ch4 one cuz I always forget about the E4 episode. Waiting a week is fucking gay though. Get so into the fucking episode and it's gone. Is it me, or is the part after the intro when the LOST title appears the freakiest part of the program? Gets me every time man.
Episode 2.09: What Kate Did
Airdate: November 30, 2005
* new 10/31 - As Kate's backstory continues, her original crime is revealed. Locke and Eko make an interesting discovery about the film, and Michael has a mysterious encounter with the computer.
Finally, after three weeks, it's back.
Darren Aronofsky is supposed to direct an episode...I'll watch that episode.
holy shit!!! that's awesome. i'll definately be watching that too

Just watched it. Holy shit, good episode. Those numbers man, fucked up...
Just found this:
Well, guess which big Lost mystery is finally going to be revealed in episode 13? Yep, HOW Locke became paralyzed. Helen (Katey Sagal) is coming back for the occasion. There's also some news about some kind of underwater somethin' somethin' that may or may not sound like a certain Survivor. I hear the producers have written a new female character who's describedas an "excitement junkie." I'm picturing her as a certain TV diva who uses words like "piddlably," but no word yet on her casting. She will appear in the 13th episode and may be back later on as a recurring character. Someone we thought was dead will be back. She (did I say 'she'?) will be found in the most delicious of all ways -- by Eko and Sawyer in the middle of the jungle. And this is someone we do not know well at all.
Finally it was back on tonight, and it was awesome. Just found this:
A group of fans have filed a class action lawsuit against the Oahu Police Department for arresting "Lost" stars Cynthia Watros and Michelle Rodriguez on drunk driving charges. These fans say they're all still watching season 1 on DVD and haven't even gotten to season 2 yet, which is when Cynthia and Michelle's characters are introduced. They say they were all blind-sided by the news that these actors were arrested and they were horrified to hear they were from season two. Their attorney argues, "It was a massive spoiler to reveal these actors are in the show, and we blame the police department for creating such a tragic consequence...They were well aware that thousands of fans were still getting through season 1, and, yet, the irresponsible officers still went ahead with their arrests." They are seeking $350 million in damages for "cruel spoiler activities" and "pain and suffering."
That's gotta be bullshit.
Anyway, Season 1 finale was on tonight. It was fucking good but I still have no idea what the fuck is going on. The preview for season 2 though? Holy fucking shit it looks good.
im up to date with the America. so im hoping my house mate has downloaded it by now. i think there were two episodes last night in the US. ep 10 and 11 of series 2 i think.
i think its pretty good. i think i mainly got hooked on it cos we downloaded the first entire series and watched them all in 2 weeks. now i have to wait weekly to download them; but finally they were back on last night (i hope)
i also watched the last of the first series again on CH4 last night. call me sad, but i was stoned and lost can be the shit when u are bonged out. it was pretty good. me and 3 other mates, stoned, watching it again. we all noticed small things and started talking about possible theories. got into a massive debate. due to our nearby whities, i cant remember much.
i noticed this tho that i didnt before... it makes me believe the french chic more, that she isnt crazy. she took the baby thinking the others wanted it cos she heard them say they are coming for the boy. she was telling the truth. first time round i thought she was lying to keep the baby, but they were..... but for walt. so the others on the boat were on the island and went out to get them.
im looking forward to watching them when i get home after work.
i think its good cos it explores all the characters past in so much detail, and even though the obvious questions we want to know never really get answered, it still manages to keep you hooked while it draws it out.
sorry bout that rant.

I hate that guy michael, i was glad when that dick disappeared!
OMG!! i hate michael too. i think its because i have an hdtv, and cant stand how round his head is.. it seriously bothers me. haha, not to mention i hate walt too because he has an annoying sharp scream.. and doesnt listen.
i want jack and kate to fuck so bad... its killing me. OH did you no that here and charlie get it on in real life!!! ew, i know!
He just reminds me of Romeo & Juliet and how gay and annoying he was in that film, he was the only thing i didnt like about that film, and for that i will forever hate him! Walt is an annoying little bastard too, if i was on the island i would have ate his dog and told him he was next if he didnt fuck up!

New episode tonight.
Wow, that episode....
This Show melts my fucking brain! It probably turn out that was all a dream or some shit!
I know, this is like the first tv show that i have ever really gotten into...
Season 2 started over here. After the Sopranos this is the greatest TV show I have ever seen.
Really? I didnt no u liked lost! I started watching by renting the 1st season dvds and could not stop with watching only one disc. Now that im caught up, i like have to watch it every wednesday! I do wish they had the second season out rent..
I'm way back in this thread somewhere, but I stopped posting because it was spoiler mania.
i know! i hate it because che always knows whats going to happen, and he will be like " someone is going to die in the next episode" and i get sooo mad that he ruins the surprises for me.. haha. I like watching it and not knowing what to expect, i think thats what makes it such a good show, you never know whats going to happen....I even hate watching the previews for the next show on the television!
this show never disappoints.
I haven't been watching for like two months, anyone feel like filling me in?
21 was good, although that cunt michael is still alive!
i wonder if there's gonna be another season, i hope not. it feels like they're wrapping it up, and they're doing it pretty bad. "the whole thing was a test" come on, they could have done better then that.
Apparently there is gonna be 6 seasons, i think there are more hatch's cause there are 6 parts to that Dharma thing and they've already found 2!
'Lost': "Greatest Finale Ever"
TV show Lost is set to finish with a bang - the season finale in two weeks is being rated as the best ever, according to the show's co-creator JJ Abrams. Abrams tells the New York Post that plotlines that have been undecipherable so far will finally make sense. And it will be even bigger and better than last season's big finale. Abrams says, "The ending of this year in Lost blows the ending of last season out of the water. It's an incredible finale. You'll see what happens, but I can tell you that a lot of it has been there and been building from the beginning of this season. It's not out of the blue, but what happens at the very end of this year, for me, it's the greatest finale I have ever heard."
i had a dream about lost this morning.. thought i was kate, and sayid was choking me. to death, woke up gasping for air!!!! you know your obsessed with something when you start dreaming about it.
Obviously the creator of the show is going to say its the greatest finale ever! Still cant wait to see it any way!
lost. Is on tonight. Im so obsessd.
I'll download it in the mornin! They could have hyped the last one up a bit it seemed kinda slow or somethin!
man last episode rocked. sawyer proved he kicks most ass with the killer comment "you're about the closest thing i got to a friend, doc.... and because she's gone. well least now get to kill somebody *weapon loads*"
and the boat in the end, man intense.
oh yeah, michael still sucks and doesn't surprise.
hello!!! i told you all michael and his dum ass kid, sucked so bad before we found out he was a taitor!!! and @ raynor i thought the best part of what sawyer said was "i screwed her" hahaha!
good episode. 2 hour finale is going to be great
Good Episode! Cant wait for the finale though! Hopefully michael and walt die really violently cause they really annoy me, instead of talking to each other the just shout, Michael shouts walt and walt shouts Dad, WHY?
i know they are both loud asses.. i hate them.
and what is up the that boat coming toward them!!! are they saved!!!!!!!!!!
FUCK FUCK FUCK LOST IS ON TOMAROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i fucking hope they are, but it would be a lame ending.
nice finale.
I love Hurley.
Anyway, we're so behind. Yesterday was the episode where Sawyer killed that tree frog that piece of scum. I shouldn't be in this thread...I don't wanna know!!
Man that finale kicked ass, now we,ve just gotta wait 6 months to see what the fucks gonna happen!
what did they mean by "i think we found them"?
and did locke die or what?
That chick was obviouly searching for desmond, like she said with alot of money you can find anyone!
Locke becomes radioactive man and desmond is fallout boy and together they will save the rest of them!
**SPOILERS... DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW SHITLOADS**
Desmond forgot to push the button, so that's what caused their plane to crash. It's like some kind of EMF type of deal. Now that Locke didn't let them push the buttom, the EMF went insane again, and Desmond's woman had those guys looking out for some kind of EMF disruption. That has to do with the "I think we found them."
And the people who said they hate Michael, I think your wish has come true. It's rumored that he sold his condo in Hawaii and he moved to LA. I don't know if that's just for the summer, but I think him and Walt are saved. That one guy let them go and they're supposedly going to get rescued.
I heard a rumor that season 3 is going to have new arrivals. I don't know if they're already supposed to be on the island, or if the EMF malfunction caused another plane or boat to get trapped into their portal. Oh, and by the way, they're in the Bermuda Triangle or something of that sort. JJ was interviewed and he was asked about the Purgatory/Bermuda theories, and he said that the purgatory theory was one of his favorites, but that it wasn't true. He didn't comment on the bermuda triangle theory. The "Others" are actually scientists with Hanso, conducting experiements. Hence the fake beards, etc.
There's a whole Lost webgame going on @ http://www.thehansofoundation.org/ (http://www.thehansofoundation.org/)
The website was advertised as a legit foundation in a commercial during airing. If you were to just go there without knowing it's a game, it's pretty convincing. It's insane, it shows a bunch of active projects of the Hanso Foundation, which is supposedly who funded the Dharma Initiative. If you go to the Wellness and Prevention section and click on the maps, there's a hidden link showing that they have projects going on in the bermuda triangle.
It's all just an advertising ploy for conspiracy junkies, but it's pretty interesting. They even went as far as interviewing Hugh McIntyre a fictional Hanso executive on Jimmy Kimmel Live...
http://lost-media.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=580 (http://lost-media.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=580)
A few people I know honestly believe that it's real, but it's all just a big joke. ABC is trying to pawn it all of by convincing people that Hanso is real, and that Dharma Initiative is still going on, and not discarded in 1987 like they stated.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hanso_Foundation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hanso_Foundation)
If you're bored, go to the webgame and see if you can crack some codes.
Not really spoilers but interesting all the same!
Season 3 has to come real soon or i might show some signs of going crazy.. This has to be one of the best series next to the Sopranos and Shogun ever.

just watched series 3 ep1, it was pretty good but nothin special apart kate being hot as fuck in it!!
mascara pretty muched summed it up. refreshing to see some new episodes as well.
one thing (of many, of guess) i didn't understand was if that chick was telling the truth to jack or was she just making that shit up about his wife? i was thinking since ben/henry said "good job [her-name]", just like she fooled him.
oh yeah, sawyer kicked ass as always.
ben and that chick have a history
when they where in the book club meeting that dude kept talking about 'him' about 'him' not liking what they where about to read. later when the airplane crashed, ben said 'i guess i'm not in the bookclub anymore' as she held her stephen king book.
i think ben is probably one of the dharma initiative originators.
one other interesting note, the Hydra station was unveiled.
yeah
we also got an explanation to the bears when that dude said "the bears did it in two hours"
who the fuck is ben?
ben was the name he gave the lostees
his real name is henry, this is his picture: http://imdb.com/gallery/hh/0256237/iid_882971.jpg.html?seq=4
he kinda looks like thom yorke

wow the newest episode is a copy of "The Time Travellers Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger. Seriously, Desmond waking up naked, timetravelling and not being able to change anything.
that episode was weird!

i love desmond. i love the way he talks. i could see myself wanting to date someone like that. whenever he speaks i just think, "he's full of sex appeal, damn you". but that's probably just me. as per usual.
that desmond episode was really weird....
i dont think that desmond really travelled through time, i think he got a vision from the island mixed with his memories or something like that.
reminded me a little bit of "butterfly effect"
ya, i guess since the begining of this season, the show has just been all cool and the gang... but apparently this next episode is really hyped...i hope its good.
I'm getting kind of tired of this show. I mean, I love it, but I'm tired of the endless questions. I want some motherfucking answers. And no more 3 month breaks. that was fucked up.
I'm tired of this show altogether. This season sucks.

De Ravin sports a black wig for this flashback to Claire's dark teenage phase. "You meet her parents and see what she's been dealing with," de Ravin says. what jack paying football with that dude? lol turns out he made a deal with them...
what i wanna know is what the fuck is up with locke, he blew up the flame hatch last week, he blew up the swan hatch a while back, and in the previews to the next epidose hes blowing something else up... it's probably gonna be the submarine.. .
what i think is, he doesnt wanna leave the island. before coming to it, he was paralyzed, now he can walk.. so my bet is he wants to stay.
you're probably right about Locke not wanting to leave. I just want to know when everyone else is going to figure out that he used to be paralyzed.
Locke's always been pretty convinced there's something else going on with the island. I think he's just convinced that they gotta keep going where they're going.. Fate and shit.
That's something that bugs me about this show actually.. What happened to all the weird shit that was going on at the start? The monster thing in the jungle and that black smoke stuff. And how they can't explain things to each other properly. It's like if Hurley is talking to Charlie about the numbers he'd be like "Uhhh.. dude.. I'm like.. Cursed or something. Uhhh.. Everyone around me dies, dude.. These numbers.." When really you'd be like "There were these numbers that had a certain significance before I came to this island. In fact I won the lottery with them. Well, they're on this inside of the hatch and also happen to be the numbers that are entered before you push the button".. Too much beating around the bush.
It's nerving me.
I mean, they reveal stupid answers to good riddles.
Another 'wtf' episode.
i cant hang out with lost anymore, im so over it.. this season sucks.
That's a negative.

Yeah it looked bad.
I been reading up on theories and shit, as you do. All I can say is that finale will be on my mind for a couple days. My balls are well and truly grabbed.
theres like another 3 seasons at least!! kinda annoying
Yeah they're short seasons as far as I know though. Up to 2010. 48 episodes. Means more shit will be packed into each one.
Next up for me is the last half of the final Sopranos season, and 24 season 6 when it's on DVD.
its shit for me cause heroes just ended now lost and peep show just finished too!!
My mate wont shut the fuck up about Heroes. I never watched it but apparently the season end was a let down?? Peep show I never bothered with either really. I have no doubt it's funny but I just never bothered. I will some time.
so charlie died, wtf!
I kinda liked him in this season. I liked the flashback (or flashforward I guess would be a better word) in the last episode as well. 1nt3ns3!
That finale was majorly fucked up..
I really can't figure this shit out now, I really am lost lol

We've known that for awhile now...
I got a few episodes to catch up on which I will soon. I'm just not motivated to do it though.
The thing with Lost is they've been taking the piss for way too long now. There is just so much shit they have to answer. It's like they're just trying to make it more fucked up all the time and not thinking about how they're gonna tie it all together. At least fucking reveal something to keep me interested.
I remember really looking forward to the next episode, you know? Shit, I remember masturbating over the Season 2 preview. It's kinda lost its magic for me. I hope it ca pull it back.
Also, I had a dream the other night where Ben was fucking my girlfriend. He looks like even more of a rat faced fuck to me now.
hahaha i see what you mean man. its gotten to a point in my eyes, that they can do no wrong. i just fucking love this show and after last nights episode i was jizzing all over the tv waiting 2 fucking weeks till the finale

Yeah, john locke dies.
to say the least, almost every finale is a mindfuck.
and now they potentially have introduced time travel to the mix? my god...
i think the island moved back in time, so we're gonna have several timelines, i also think, since locke is back in the states calling himself jeremy bentham, he moved the island back where it was.. so now jack kate erin hurley sun and sayid can find it with bens help.
what do you think the whole deal is between ben and charles whitmore?
gay lovers
whitmore is just a rich powerful man, he doesnt have any financial limits, and he knows of the island's power for some reason.. maybe he funded the dharma initiative.. dont really know.
did you see that commercial towards the end? www.octogonglobalrecruiting.com i entered my email, but nothing.
yeah i was wondering what the hell that was...
one hour left
this really could be the best season yet
you're still up in air about that, pffffft
best season, hands down.

definitely gotta agree.. we've got some classic tv here- every week this season has been classic
interesting and nicely shaped episode.
I waited all the episode for the moment the Locke will die.. again, and not die yet.. and maybe die later. Anyway. Nice episode. and I'm bloody angry with Ben.. can't figure out if he's the good guy oi the bad guy. but since all the losties are good and evil and nobody will know the real deal until the end, we'll just have to wait.
this show will beat THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL with the number of episodes. many old ladies watch that shit here.

Ajira Flight 316 is how they got back to the island
- Coincidentally, the number of passengers on Flight 815, subtracting those who survived and at one point escaped the Island (Jack, Kate, Sayid, Sun, Hurley, Locke, Michael, and Walt) is 324 - 8 = 316
- the episode aired on February 18. on this day there are exactly 316 days left in the year
- 3:16 is a written on Eko's stick earlier in the series
- the Bible verse from above, John 3:16, is "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
- This is in direct correlation with John Locke's letter to Jack, which read, "I wish you had believed me," and Ben's Bible story to Jack about Thomas, The Apostle. Jack Shephard is our "Doubting Thomas"
OH SHIT!!
yep. lostpedia gives me the chills sometimes.

OH SHIT!!
brilliant
new lost was niiiiiiiiiiice
dammit this show never disappoints me!

Fucking mind blowing. That's why I love this show, it keeps you guessing.
quite a disappointing episode.
Sayid is just not interesting to me.
there was a time when he actually was my favorite character a couple seasons back. that said, i was pretty disappointed last night as well.
sure i wasn't expecting that ending, and there were several good things that happened. but it just seemed like an ordinary transition episode, which is very abnormal for this show.
I wonder what is changed by the fact that Benjamin Linus is technically dead.
Time travel mess-up ftw
definitely. i was thinking about this whole thing a week or so ago, and hoping they wouldn't kill him, because that changed everything.
i just hope the show doesn't get too far-fetched, or pull lame stuff like on Heroes ;)
omg, I have totally seen an explosion in a week.
omfg, we should do something
hahaha for serious man!
holy shit what a great episode. i thought that whole last scene was incredible.
plus a theory of mine is still holding up (the island dates back to ancient egyptians)
the episode was just strangeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
of course I watched it drunk. that did not help with confusion, no it did not.
another great episode! and next week's one is focused on Richard Alpert! HOLY CRAP ON A CRUTCH!
*SPOILER*
good god i hope we haven't seen the last of Faraday, he seemed he actually had answers, but never got to explain them
I hope Daniel did not die for real :/
I liked him very much
wtf?!
weird episode, but damn Locke is definitely now a man with a plan. can't wait till next week's finale
I don't knowwwwwwwww. this is going to the weird lost part again.
the part with Daniel (I mean mainly this season) was one of the greatest plots of LOST. but now that's gone.
and no hydrogen bombs and cheesy melodrama plots won't work for me
maaaaaan I don't know if it is LOST (probably) that I watched or what but I had the craziest dream today.
I was in another reality where I could travel through time in my dreams (not willingly). so I went to all sorts of places, mostly it was a nightmare because I couldn't seem to find the 'Exit' out of this whole dream. had tons of false awakenings and lucid moments.. and the most fucked up one was when I "woke up" in my own bed, just how I went to sleep. and I decided to call my friend (the first of about ten time-travel dreams were happening in a parallel universe, where one of my closest friends got a terminal disease and would die in two days, and we were saying our goodbyes), so I'm calling this friend - instead of her three male voices start talking to me through the phone, screaming at me that I "ran away" and that I should "go back" to solve the things. so they pull me back to the alternate past through the phone. man that was hardcore.
I cannot remember when I had a dream which was THAT terrifying.
hardcore indeed haha. probably was LOST. watching that show just fucks with your mind. it's awesome how it sometimes sticks with you for days.
although being a huge lost fan i somehow "lost" interest in checking out the new season because the ending of the last season didnt seem that promising to me.
so last week i finaly decided to check out the first episode from the new season.
i needed 4 days to watch through all episodes, just couldnt stop watching this shit. damn, this was the best week of my life, this season is the best shit i've ever seen in tv. cant wait for the finale.
lost is as intense as intelligent tv entertainment can get imo. and i'm proud that i decided to chose a lost-character for my forum profile name ;)
amen brother
I've been trying to watch this show from season 1 on abc.com.... can someone tell me why Jin still has handcuffs on him? Dont they say hey Jin sorry about locking you up can we take that off of you? Hes been walking about with the broken hand cuff like a bracelet and noone seems to care!
Are you sure it's Jin? The only person I remember having handcuffs on them in Season 1 was Kate...
yeah it was jin... becuz he beat up Michael
Ok I don't remember that, seems years since I've watched Season 1. I might go back and watch Seasons 1-4 again just so I can maybe try and get my head around some things. I've just watched Episode 15 of Season 5 and I haven't got a fucking clue what's going on... Time travel is confusing me. Looking forward to the last 2 episodes next week though...
yeah, I guess LOST is a show that you always have to update yourself with.
I mean there are SO many characters with so many details on everything which connect - usually.
Like the Locke part etc.
Locke is easily my favorite character for Season 5...he definitely has been a man with a plan lately
And I one of these years I can't wait to watch the entire series beginning to end. Maybe then we can finally completely grasp everything they throw at us.
This show has gone to shit. It was so awesome in the beginning.
sounds about right ::)
sounds fasle, actually
Fuck that, Faraday lives.
And this show is BEAST.
want to know something sad? after tonight, there's only one more finale. :'( :'( :o :'(

Sad? Thank god, show fucking sucks.
"The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.
The opposite of art is not ugliness, it's indifference.
The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference.
And the opposite of life is not death, it's indifference."
Elie Wiesel
Just watched the last two episodes...
that was.. . . .. .. ..
I mean, the end, explosion.. I have many theories.
and as for the Jacob and the other god.. Devil and the God? what?
whole episode was really nice. eh.
so now we'll have to wait another half of year to at least find out what happened..
and come on, please don't kill Juliette. she's awesome.
Yeah I was also thinking Devil and God, especially when he touched Locke and he suddenly woke up when he fell out of building. I don't believe Jacob is dead and I think Ben is more important than we are led to believe... When Richard spoke Latin, the translation is 'The one who saves/protects us...' I think.
There is definitely some religous thing going on here but we shall see...
the latin phrase means 'Whoever will help us, will help everyone'.
I loved the idea of fate versus free will (from ATPR).
yeah i see what you guys mean, I've figured out for a while now that there are so many religious undertones to the series in general. but man, I just don't know what to think about next year's final season. who knows anymore. I give so much credit to the writers, there are so many things now that refer back to the 1st and 2nd seasons. and who could've seen that Locke twist coming?? (plus, ever since the season 2 finale I love every moment the giant statue is on the screen)
every single scene was crucial in the 2 hour finale as well, and I enjoyed it all. from the emotion of Sawyer/Juliet (sorry but I think she's done for) to that scene with Bernard and Rose and Vincent the dog. good god, they brought so much into perspective. and we never even saw any of Desmond or Widmore in these episodes!
what I'd like to know...what is the theory on Christian now? is he just an abhorrition of the Smoke monster or he like the "Devil" from the beginning that now is like "Zombie Locke"
yeah, I suppose it's just a form of the evil guy.. probably.
I heard theories that black smoke = the evil guy taking all sorts of shapes, but actually black smokes work in favor of Jacob, so that's not really true.
and what about the "loophole" to kill Jacob? so interesting. and yes, I totally agree with you on broadening our spectrum with Bernard and Rose, etc.. so nice, so nice.
well, I have at least come to the conclusion that this is what the statue is....Sobek, with the ankh in his hand as well.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sobek
nine months till next season, nine months!!!
I think the new Locke is the black smoke, who can take any form, like Alex or Christian
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c203/rr21476/ben.jpg)
now this is just wrong, lithium
Shoulda used a picture of Sawyer.
just started watching season 5..... I'm loving the time travel story. JJ sure loves time travel plots!
I, for one, am eagerly anticipating this coming Tuesday. Gotta enjoy it while it lasts, since there is not other show that I anticipate as much as Lost. I read somewhere a couple weeks ago that Jeff Fahey(the crazy pilot) is getting more screen time, which is awesome. And John Hawkes (Deadwood and Eastbound & Down) is joining this season as well. I love how they consistently get fuckin' GOOD actors on this show.
Wow, I made this thread back in 05 lol. I still hate this show.

I'm excited as well. Seen first four minutes of "LA X", excited about things, and you know - it's the last season, and even though I'm pretty sure the series will end in a incomprehensible plot twist with an open interpretation, many mysteries are yet to be solved during this season. Which - obviously - is good. I just don't want to be disappointed when aliens or black holes and "I see dead people" show up
haha! yeah let's hope that's not how it all ends.... who am i kidding, it does have to be something COMPLETELY out of left field.
I still think the writers will end the stories in a way that, how to express that in words - hm - nothing ever happened. I mean, nothing EVER happened, everything is like a time error or something, so, nothing happened = no need to explain something what did not happen anyway.
I mean, LOST is all about super weird things going on with no reasonable explanation, so you know..
watched the recap today.
soooooooooooooooooooooo excited
ahhhh! i'm so excited that even my friends are having a big lost viewing party tomorrow. fucking sweet!

%90 agreed
actually something happened but not for 5 season long..
they have over 20 characters and on every single episode they dwell upon their single lifes
i say lost is not a 6 season long serie..(money power)
it should be 2 seasons
well it's kept my interest all these years, but i can see what you're talking about. but at least we are getting a sense of finality this year. the writers and producers have been saying for a quite a while that they want end it all with this season: no loose-ends, no spinoff shows, no movies in a couple years. there will be a concrete ending.
i hope so...
actually it would be nice if the final was a ''complete movie''
I can't wait for tonight!!!!!
Hmmmm... so I guess they didn't crash....
didn't disappoint, more mindfucks! i don't know where they are going with the parallel universe thing, but it was awesome seeing what would happen if they never crashed.
the way they did the end of the 1st hour was brilliant with that scene on the plane.
SPOILER***
with the end of the second episode, I didn't even realize until one of my friends brought it up. but they already revealed that Juliet was right, with who saw that red warning flare go up.
explain that to me?? I'm confused... what do you mean?
The others fired the flare with Jack, Kate, Hurley, etc there. Then we see Richard with Lapidus, Ben, Sun, etc and they see the flare in the sky. That means that they are all together doesn't it? Potentially all in 2007? so, in a sense, Juliet was at least right that they got into the same time period
Lapidus??? whos Lapidus. The guy in john locke?
the awesome pilot with the long gray hair that's been traveling with Sun since they crashed back on the island.
two words
so.
cool.
Haha Mack.
dude that was awesome, I totally called that Mac would be dead by the end of the episode when I saw that he was tagging along with Kate and Jin.
This show really sucks now.
I think richard came on the black pearl a long time ago and he was locked up in chains where sawyer killed lockes dad.
ep 3...still boringggg
Kate used to be so cool, but even as a badass in this episode her parts got a little boring. So many mood swings...
nothing has happened at all so far
but how bout the 5 minutes of Mac from its always sunny, and then he gets shot, ha
ep 4.....still the same shitttttt
god damn i hope it ends soon !
last night was definitely way better than kate's episode. screw you guys.
yes, totally. it is so awesome that the numbers are back, and well - the general mysticism.
nice gesture on throwing the white rock/Jacob from the scales
i agree with the last two guys, the first 3 eps weren't great (although i didn't think they were bad), but number 4 got me intrigued again. And sawyer remains badass, they can't really go wrong when sawyer is involved
the thing makes me crazy (in a bad way) in this show is :
the bitch says ''i will tell you everything about this island''
and then guy asks ''what is it..why ?''
the bitch answers ''you already know...come with me''
and he never tells anything
the guy asks ''whats this numbers ?''
the bitch answers ''the important think, why you are here ''
''yes why am i here ?''
''because you have to be here'' (is this an answer)
millions of unnatural things happened and still nothing explained !..
and some lost fans watched 'the matrix'' and they said ''what a stupid movie, he can beat 100 simith and he fly...thats stupid, how can he fly''
anyone agree with me that the smoke monster might be the good one and jacob is bad on the island?
the thought has crossed my mind. but then realize this is Lost, and they've fucked with our perceptions of characters before. what happens when the smoke monster gets off the island though? turn into the Cloverfield monster?
we all know the man and black can't kill jacob, but when Ben snabbed jacob he didn't kill him instantly. Remember jacob was on his hands and knees bleeding and he said they are coming, then the man and black finished him off by kicking him in the fire. When the man in black kicked him he was breaking the rules. He killed jacob by doing that. Ben didn't kill him. Thats why that mysterious boy in the jungle said "You know the rules, You can't kill him." Now because he broke the rules jacob will come back.
holy shit you just blew my mind.
;)
Ok, I'm gonna give this show one more episode. After that I quit. It's been really going downhill.
OMG WHAT A STUPID EPISODE
its almost final and there s still nothing !!!
this show doesnt deserve to watch it on first day...
its waste of time...
im gonna wait till episode 16 and i ll watch just ep 16
i should watched SE-6 Ep-00 and SE6 Ep-16 would be enough, you know what i mean....
I absolutely loved every minute of this episode.
I'm not even sure why, but I'm more into LOST than ever, I'm actually even thinking to rewatch the whole series while watching S6.
I love the fundamental themes of evil/good and fate/free-will throughout EVERYTHING in the show.
It's so epic in my head.
by the way, ilovechino69, consider my mind blown by you noticing those details about killing Jacob.
I still think Jacob is the good one. In a way he does manipulate everyone, but there's still a chance of everything not going by the direction he had planned. Though, there IS a possibility he is actually representing the dark forces of the universe, lol.
Anyway, I'm excited with each and every episode. I'm pretty sure the finale will be fucking epic.
I agree man, another good episode.
And if you really are a fan of the show, and then proceed to give up with 10 hours left IN THE ENTIRE FUCKING SERIES, then fuck you and die. retard.
EDIT: Ok maybe not die, that was harsh. but seriously gtfo.

if you really are a fan of the show
im fan of good movies, good series, good musics
thousand unnatural things happened and we wait for the secrets for 6 seasons and we still got nothing so i dont care anymore if there is good-bad war or not..
whos ready for tomorrow!!!
i'm still watching mainly for a number of reasons:
1. lapidus is hot.
when he's in his pilot uniform....woahhhh!
2. desmond is babe numero uno:
he looks like steven aka your sister makes me hard, which makes steven babe numero dos.
3. the theme song is fantastic!
4. john locke is the best character. he's so formulated as a person. i've been on his side since the beginning. i didn't realise it til last week how much i cared for him. WHY DIDN'T THEY LET HIM DO THE WALKABOUT?
5. i actually think it'll end well. people are getting frustrated mainly because they know this is it and they want everything explained to them quickly. these are the same people that know nothing about foreplay.
6. whatever anyone wants to say, but charlie had the best death.
there's more reasons but my headache is persisting.
luuuuuuuuuulz
I shave and wear suits everyday. I'm stylin everyday. I still look awesome even without a beard, and long hair.
last nights episode was totally awesome.
don't say anything. we're an episode behind you guys. the last episode revealed that jack has a son.
and i hope claire hasn't lost her marbles.
goddamnit....must talk about lost, but i gotta refrain now!!! oh wait we have a spoiler-dealy now
THOSE FUCKING SCENES BETWEEN DOGEN AND SAYID WERE SHEEP TITS
was a good episode.. can't wait for next weeks

holy crap what a great episode last night! it's one of my favorite ever for the series. so many speculations confirmed, and we basically know the potential endgame and what's at stake!!!!
yeah, I agree. I'm superexcited
LOVING the evil/good/hell themes. awesome.

what episode is this? we just finished the episode that focused on sawyer. we're either one or two episodes behind you guys.
you're one episode behind.
this episode is about Richard :)
yeah wow, i'm sorry! that sucks that you have to wait an extra week for these episodes. the richard alpert episode is HUGE.
i always wanted to know what that guy's story is! finally. there's going to be an episode on desmond soon. god, i missed desmond. hunk of a spunk.
i really liked the scene with ilana and ben in the forest where he tells her about how his daughter died and he knows how she feels about losing someone you love. and when he says, "because no one will have me" and then ilana says, "i'll have you." i got very emotional over that.
ilana is so beautiful too.
yeah, she's becoming quite important too :)
agreed, scenes like those are what make Lost awesome.
initially i didn't have any feelings towards ben. after that episode that focused on him, i pretty much decided that ben is awesome. he's a good man but i don't think he knows how to behave like one. there's a good in him. what he said was just so beautiful.
Them being in some kind of Hell did cross my mind before.... I wonder if Richard knows what he's talking about.
yeah that was a theory going back to like the first season. there are so many religious allusions with everything on this show, so i won't be surprised if in the end the place really is purgatory, or hell, or some weird heaven, or some cork to jesus wine ;)
but I clearly remember lost writers debunking this theory in the run of first two seasons.
well - there's other fact here too, lost was initially designed to have 3 seasons, so I guess the story was just shifted and changed.
but I would not mind the idea anyway.
I did really enjoy seeing Richard's back story, He's one of my favorite characters.

yeah not too great of an episode, but it was still entertaining and it was nice to see them follow up Sayed's flash-sideways.
oh and
we got finally got desmond AND Mikhail
I still wanna know who that mysterious boy in the woods is?
desmond is a babe.

great seeing desmond back! and with this last episode, i get the feeling we're on the verge of some big revelations about these flash-sideways. we were so close to getting answers tonight!
oh maaaaaaaaaaaan. what an episode.
I'm so excited.
though I'm already depressed that there's like only 5 episodes left.
Oh that Desmond and his mind time traveling ways
I don't think it's Jacob. I just think it's some sort of "emotional luggage" for the black smoke guy, which will finally ruin all his plans and such.
By the way, only now did I think that finale's flash-side-backs could be smoke guys. just a though. anyway, only 4 episodes left. absolutely crazy.
What if all these episodes leave us to the finale having more questions which would lead them to make a LOST movie??? Idea? Anyone agree? lol
I don't think there will be a movie :)
i'm more in love with this show now more than ever. i like how they are gradually giving us some answers, and also that couple dead people we saw with Hurley this week. good to see them back, if only for a few lines
that answer i alluded to above was with the voices in the woods on the island. the answer was a little forced by the writers it seemed, but it was a solid explanation to something that went back to season 1.
Any guesses on the meaning of Desmond hitting Locke in the flash-sideways? my opinion is that it was redemption for being thrown in the well, as Desmond seems to have some serious connection between the realities
STEVEN IS SUCH A LIAR!!!
who's ready for tonight!?!?!?
desmond = the new jacob
but his name's not in that cave!!!!!! :o
WHAT?
desmond seems to be the only character now who knows what's going on.
well, this could actually be true.
Sayid obviously did not kill him, Jack turned to the dark sideeeeeeeeeee. Wicked stuff. I want to postpone the finale with a couple of seasons, cause I don't want to know what's going on.
is this true about jack?
and why are there spoiler boxes? the title of this thread is 'lost CONTAINS SPOILERS.' i think that's warning enough.
well, for example you were always one episode behind, so we kinda are spoiling the fun.
Jack did not choose the other side willingly. He just did not know that if you talk to "Locke" you are automatically enslaved.
really? sheesh, that's a heavy consequence.
i am an episode behind but whatever. i feel bad for sayid. us middle easterners are very emotional people. once you take away our emotions, it's pretty much up shit creek without a paddle.
yeah, but I hope that Desmond talked sense into him and will maybe undo the zombie stuff
ohhh, desmond. he's so dreamy. i love him.
ok so no more need for spoiler boxes?
anyways i can't believe jack really is on the dark side. i can see him being the best candidate to replace jacob, but there's no way he can actually be EVIL. but yeah, only 4 weeks left, fuuuuuuck i don't want this to end!
I recently started to talk like Desmond, saying brother after every sentence.

I think the writers did this intentionally. I'm pretty sure they don't want Jack to stay the lead figure in the show.
Somehow I've got a feeling that the final candidate would be something random like Kate. I am kinda afraid of the finale, because I'm pretty sure a LOT of losties will die then. I don't want to see my heroes die.
i'm not sure locke saying "you're with me now" means jack is on the dark side. as far as i'm concerned, he's still a contender for the candidate spot.
my brother put this on my pillow:
you're brother has a very female handwriting.
my brother is kind of feminine in a really masculine way. girls love him because he's very easy to talk to and he is very very funny.
once i was on the train and he taped lost for me. he was sending me texts (i never delete his texts) about what was happening:
"sayid has turned full evil and jin is kidnapped by widmore and is about to meet desmond."
"and jack as usual is still crying from the start til the end. oh so sick of his attitude."
"omg just when you think jack is gonna stop crying, desmond dies. here goes another season cry baby."
and every time i try to surprise him with a spoiler he replies:
"indeed it's not a spoiler that he's gonna start crying again."

omfg - new episode
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BEN AND RICHARD?
yes that deserved all caps
they got "lost in the jungle", they'll come back sometime, don't worry.
but this episode.
omg.
oh yes. definitely. "this place is death" came from this show. and it showed yesterday.
are you guys talking about sayid, jin and sun? that's the episode we watched yesterday. so fucking sad.
jack hasn't turned bad. thank jesus.
i know next week's episode is all about the smoke monster. i'm so tempted to watch it online.
yeah good you saw it. next week's should be huge. might be the most important episode to date!
we're on the same episode? i thought you guys were ahead by one episode.
it seems we're on the same page now
damn straight, the amount of times those guys are saying, "australia" this season is crazy hahaha
haha i have no idea how you caught up, but it seems like you're all good now.
may 23 is the end date and yesterday they revealed that the finale is now 2 and a half hours! plus the 2 hour recap beforehand. so basically that entire night is ALL Lost.

Awesome, and Bright Lights is right you should really stay off this thread it will ruin alot of the surprises in the story.
holy shit

Man In Black episode tonight! hopefully we get some BIG revelations!
okay. not that many revelations, right? I mean, I did not really feel as if a "MAJOR REVELATION" was revealed. ditto. on the other hand, the episode was completely awesome. As I have said many times before - I love how fundamental LOST became. black and white, good and evil, science and faith. superb. though I kinda wished for more "nowadays on the island" action, but ooooooooh well.
ok I do agree about the fundamentals, but I have to admit I was slightly disappointed with it overall. the tying of things together at the end was great and clever (i wonder if Lindelof and Cuse REALLY planned on that from the beginning) but the first half of the episode just seemed really... well, off. In my opinion, it just wasn't nearly as good of an episode as the one that showed Richard's origins.
I felt the showing of the light underground with the wheel didn't explain shit. it was cool to see, we didn't really get any answers, did we?
I hope the next 3 and a half hours answer a few more questions. I'm pretty psyched for the 23rd!!
Fucking bring it.
great episode, compared to last week's. i'm really excited for the finale now that we have some answers of who's going head to head.
oh yeah, and the writers went insane here with the killing off characters that have been around awhile.
I bet Sawyer will die some kind of heroic death too :)
yeah, I guess he will.
The episode was great. Highlights? Conversation with Jacob, Ben meeting Danielle, alter-reality meet up with Hume Hugo Ana Lucia etc etc. SO AWESOME.
i agree, those were the top 3 highlights. but i'm pissed off with seeing the way
Richard and Widmore
died. they were uneventful deaths (i guess Ben won), while being crucial characters throughout the entire series. i get that it's the end and some of these deaths are to be expected, but i'm kind of disappointed.
i'm glad that bitch died in that closet
isn't Richard.. like immortal or something? it is kinda weird how their deaths are so FAST and meaningless
I doubt that Richard actually is dead
in LOST we have to actually _SEE_ someone die
i do have my doubts about Richard's status. Ilana had said before that he was important, and we haven't seen any important actions from him this season. What a meaningless character in the end (if he really is gone)
I'll be pissed. He's one of my favorite characters!

i actually appreciate the fact that these people are having uneventful deaths. it's balanced. the way sun and jin died was pretty intense. my dad was affected and that says a lot. if you look at the way a lot of characters have died in the last few seasons its been pretty aesthetically pleasing. this season a lot of characters are dying in realistic ways.
charlie had the best death in my books. it was fucking perfect. the way he crossed himself and just died. it was fucking beautiful, man.

i concur, that ending to that season finale was one of the best moments in the entire series.
the best episode was 'the constant' and charlie had the best death. the storyline of penny and desmond has been one i've had the bigger response to. i loved the scene when the man on the street takes a picture of desmond and penny and desmond doesn't have enough money to pay for the polaroid so he breaks up with penny. i still remember that scene. i haven't been able to forget it.
i don't know what i'm going to do if desmond gets killed off.
Not Pennys boat.
Almost time...
shit yeah... like 7 hours!!
Okay I've never seen an episode of Lost but I know that the Deftones song title "This Place Is Death" is a reference to the show. Anyone else think it'd be awesome if the show ends with this song playing?
honestly, i would say fuck no. the music in this series WAS perfect the way it WAS. (i need to get used to talking about this in past tense now)
and i very satisfied with the ending. amazing and poetic. now you other fans need to get on here to help me make COMPLETE sense of it all.
I liked the ending
the built up to it was great but the final 5 mins were bad.
there are still so many questions unanswered!
overall great show. finally something awesome after the x-files!
and to always remember how cool Sawyer is I just purchased an actionfigure :)

i don't know, the more i think about the ending, the more i think it was f-ing brilliant.
I'm shattered. The finale was just perfect - yet heartbreaking - yet purposeful.
I have so many thoughts about everything now. LOST is definitely the best tv show I have ever seen in my life, and I spent countless hours watching this, and I knew that the finale would blow me away, but not THIS much.
I mean. Like. OMG.
The finale HIGHLY corresponded with my mental status and my general personal feelings, so, I don't know, I feel like I touched the heart of the show.
It is SO beautiful. Wow. I mean like WOW.
Nothing can beat this.
Wow. I'm just speechless.
That's a good point, maybe the most important point of what the whole show is about... You either hate it or love it. If you have some sort of personal, emotional attachment then you'll watch it from the beginning to the end, every episode. Maybe because somewhere in that show there is a character who we can all somehow relate to on a personal level.
No matter who you are or what you've done, there is light at the end of tunnel...
(Though there are obvious questions unanswered... where was Walt? Why wasn't Miles or Richard or Frank in the church at the end either...)...

yeah, I was a LITTLE disappointed with the reality catching up with the show (like Mr. Eko asking his usual episode pay times 6). The writers etc surely did not have enough resources to bring back EVERY character. And I'm pretty sure there is some meaning behind the "selection" of the finalees.
But you know what? After some thought I decided I do not need any answers. I'm fine with the fundamental ending about life and death entirely. I decided I'm not even going to try to talk to people that disliked the finale very much. Different opinions. Either you hate it, or love it.
can someone explain to me what to think of the alternative reality catching up to the whole island story?
someone ever though that they all are in heaven now and that's because no one actually is dead?
I personally think when Jacks father appeared again the whole ending turned into shit for me. how can someone so uninteresting be the one to end it all?

this. i loved how we got CLOSURE to the characters' stories, and not some long diatribe about mysteries of the island. in a way, i'm happy that we never really knew anything about why the physical island itself was so important and special. leaves it all up for an individual's interpretation.

i can't answer for Walt, or Mr. Eko for that matter. but here's what i got from it all:
the characters on the freighter had connections to the island, however they weren't really connected specially to the survivors of 815, if you know what i mean.
everyone in the church at the end was from flight 815 and/or connected either romantically to each other and
found themselves on the island. (whereas someone like Michael is left on the island as a creepy "whisperer")
now, the entire flash-sideways thing (what i took from it)- the entire thing was a purgatory that they manifested. it was pretty much what the characters thought they wanted as their happy ending.
since the purgatory has no time setting, and everyone dies, everyone is in some sort of afterlife.
everything that happened on the island, really happened; everyone that died on the island, died. juliet with the bomb, locke strangled, sun & jin drowning, jack next to vincent in the bamboo (where was vincent in the church?!?)
however those who survived the ending (hugo, ben, kate, claire, sawyer, etc.), lived on but obviously eventually passed on entered the purgatory. (this is from the ending when ben and hugo are chatting it up, mentioning that "you were a great #2". that signified that at least those 2 guys lived on for a while still on the island)
perfect end setting too, for a spiritual show, in a church with religious artifacts behind a character named CHRISTIAN who enters a bright light.
here's my question: was the entire flash-sideways-purgatory story all just for everyone to get together to send off Christian to heaven(since his body was missing the whole series)? or was everyone leaving purgatory and entering heaven because they were finally truly happy and found each other in the afterlife?
I guess they kinda "waited" until the Jack would die (though this makes no sense, especially if "some lived longer" than Jack). But the way I think of it - the purgatory is kinda static in time, timeless even. And because Jack is dying, the whole crew is "transfered" to the "point" where Jack dies. I mean, no matter if Hurley would die in a 100 years, he is there now, cause dying transfers you A LOT further. Kinda?
So since Jack is dying, he is transfered to the purgatory. He is the only one who never really got into acceptance with his father, his father is there (I should say - the father being sweet and all, considering Jacks issues, is kinda bullshitty, but you can always say that "oh well it's purgatory, they can't blame each other for anything at all").
weird.
all in all there is still so much room for interpretation!
I wonder how the show would effect someone without any religous background.
after all there is lots hidden symbolism in every episode!

but you know about good/evil and heaven/hell ;)
that's what i meant.
btw, there was a jimmy kimmel special about lost.
things are definitely left for interpretation. another theory my dad would rather believe is that EVERYONE died in the 815 crash (hence the lifeless videos of the 815 wreckage during the end credits). i don't believe this theory and can't even make sense of how flash-forwards and such would play into this.
and i did watch that jimmy kimmel special, and one interesting point he brought up was him showing when he believed Jack died. It was in the season premiere in the flash-sideways when the plane went into turbulence and he closes his eyes, clutching Rose's hand. Rose then said "you can let go now" as if there was some double meaning to it. This is an interesting idea, but then it conflicts with Jack's death in the bamboo at the end. whatever, though. the more i think about the finale, the like i love it, but at the same time i think i'm confusing myself.
the more I think about it, it actually could be that everyone died in the plane crash and then the island and the flashbacks is some kind of "way" to heaven or hell.
in the last episode Jack's father also said something like "they made this place, so they could find them again" refering to the church

my problem with that theory is how did they learn to love each other and such? like sayid and shannon loved each other in the island. if they died in the original plane crash, wouldn't they have technically never met?

no
haha okay then I'd say only the "what if the plane didn't crash" timeline is the afterlife scenario

Indeed. Summed that feeling up.
Now I been able to digest it, I loved it. It gives me that feeling that only Lost ever has when I look back on everything. Truly magical and I'm glad I was able to experience it.
It's funny when I think that when I have kids, this would be one of those shows, to them, that's just some 'old' show their Dad liked that was pretty big before they were born.

you're probably right. i just hope another show comes along that can grab these same emotions that Lost somehow did. part of me thinks Lost was a once-in-a-lifetime show, and with its mythology and pop-culture impact, it'll go completely over people's heads in future generations.
OKAY, JUST WATCHED IT.
the first thing out of my mouth was "i'm confused..." i had my mouth open the whole time. it was about the characters. i never found that the reason for watching the show was because i wanted to know what the island was and what its special qualities were. i wanted to know what was going to happen to the characters - their fate. now that it's sinking in (that is six years of my life!) i'm happy with how it ended. i'm assuming they were all dead and waiting around for each other to pass on so they could be together.
i think the things they didn't try to explain were best left that way; exactly what technical explanation for time travel would i have accepted as plausible, anyway? basically it was a choice of either giving ridiculous answers or not bothering. and i think they made the right choice. i think the last episode was more about winding up the character stories and on that level it worked. the last scene was moving, what with the dog, and the way it referred back to the very opening shot of the first series.

i'm religious so i loved it. i don't know if i believe in an afterlife so that has always been something i've been interested in looking at. the whole idea of purgatory is extremely appealing to me. i love the way art looks at it and lost kind of took it and did something completely well with it.
it set off in the first episode of this season if you think about it when the plane doesn't crash and rose tells jack, "it's okay, you can let go." it was all leading up to jack dying because jack protected the island. and when kate says, "i've missed you," it's all because she hadn't seen him for years and years because she got off the island and presumably lived for a very long time.

agreed completely. the big mysteries of the actual island are best left unsolved, and open for discussion and speculation.

i know it's been months since it ended but i have been rethinking and retalking about lost because my friend is watching it and she's up to the finale now. we were talking about character development in the show and how in the beginning i really disliked ben but then he owned season five and six. take the scene that i posted between ben and ilana that was by far the best dialogue i'd heard since 'the constant'. ben is the most complex and complete character. i guess he's complete in a sense that he isn't complete, he's so faulty and his loyalties always seem to be shifting.
i loved desmond but i think ben linus was definitely my favourite character. desmond's accent stumps all though.
i was just wondering what character you started off gravitating to and then who you shifted to in the end when you saw the complete transformation of each character.
my best friend is actually watching this now too, and myself and a couple of others catch some of the episodes with him. he's ending season 4 this weekend, but I watched the season 3 finale (Through the Looking Glass) with him and that might be my favorite episode. just so much shit going on, so much emotion, so much great acting(including great scenes between Locke and Ben on the quest to meet Jacob), and then Charlie... yeah. basically i really am appreciating this show even more now than when it was on. it was definitely meant to be seen consecutively, instead of 16 weekly episodes per year (I don't know how we did that). I catch so many little things now that get brought up weeks later, especially the little cameos early in the series of key characters like Richard and Faraday's mother.
as for your question, I honestly enjoyed the badassery of guys like Sayid, Locke and Sawyer and Eko early on (I was devastated when Eko died, but looking back they concluded his story so I'm fine with it). by season 3, I gravitated to the obvious choice of Jack, first because I kind of related to some of his personal troubles. then when we see the future, and he's depressed and suicidal, I really began to feel for him. then he began to transform from his "oh we gotta get off this rock" to "WE HAVE TO GO BACK" and upon the eventual return his kind of religious turn was perfect for the show. and that final shot of the finale... brilliant. I can't wait to rewatch seasons 5 & 6.

that is so fucking creepy! lost has affected all facets of life now. this is proof of the greatness of this show.
None of you remember that lottery years ago? I think it was in Ireland or something. Numbers were 4 8 15 16 23 24
i just googled it. the last number was 42 instead of 24, but still, very fucking freaky. i want to go to a lost theme party. oh gosh, who would i be? maybe ben. or ilana.
a lost party, eh? sounds fine to me. i would totally be depressed jack.
is the lost fan-base turning into the trekkies? or the star wars nerds? are we getting that obsessed? yes.
I was watching season one today and does anyone remember when locke was in his office at his job talking on the phone all military talk, and randy his boss walks over and insults him. Well if you listen closely you can hear the smoke monster sound when Locke starts to punch in numbers in his calculator angrily. Maybe John Locke was always the smoke monster?
did not know this. and i was perfectly happy believing he became the monster after the ajira 316 crash.
wait, also, didn't they conclude everything by successfully keeping the monster from leaving the island? or else the world was going to end or something.
to my knowledge, the smoke monster never left the island. this is interesting. we have to find out.
I found the video of the scene I was talking about on you tube
Crazy Smoke Monster (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpOrU4dmFa4#)
that's just the adding machine making that noise. or whatever that thing is. something with receipts. what is hurley referring to though, in the clip?
he was referring to who is locke, thats when locke showed everyone his knifes
haha so one of the many theories with locke - oh my god I really miss this. you could talk and discuss this show over years. when I watched the last episode again, it's a totally different feeling if you know the backgrounds. i totally cried my eyes out ^^. does anyone have the whole lost dvd package?
my friend bought that huge ass box set, which a group of us are STILL in the process of watching all the way through. Believe we're 1 disc into season 6, so we're close to the end. It's awesome how much more you get out of it when you watch the series straight through. I still can't understand how I went 7 days between episodes.... and then over 6 months between seasons. I'll admit I cried at the end when it aired, but now that I understand (I think) everything, I can't wait till I see the Richard episode and then those last 4 hours or so. Lost is inching its way up toward my favorite show of all time.

just wondering if anyone watches it
Only losers can watch an entire season of something in 2 days.
I've watched an entire season of The Wire in 2 days. But I convince myself I'm not a loser because those entire seasons were only like 10 hours.
The Wire is acceptable since it is the greatest television show ever.
haha you're goddamn right about that
lost greatest tv show ever
when my son was only like 2 months old.. me and my wife we watched season 1. 2 and 3 in 4 to 5 days.... for some weird reason... we both had really bad headaches....lol
you watched it for nothing..
because the story tells nothing
i watched it cause i loved the show.... The ending was a little wack.. But... It was still a great fucking show...

asshole knows what up. I still found enjoyment out of the finale, and 90% of the episodes had great stories to tell.
You can see how much I liked this show in the beginning and how I began to hate it throughout this thread. I lolled at it.
the only thing i didnt like about the ending... Was the little things they didnt explain... But in all still one of my favorite show... I miss it...lol
I like how ABC keeps trying to find a show to replace it... but keeps falling on their faces.
yep.. Totally agree...lol
So I finally finished watching Lost and it's really about
the characters and purgatory
haha the last word gives away...yet its a must see. Something original yet cleverly retold in different ways and gives the audience a lot depth.

Absolutely. This is the ONLY show with a continuous story (as opposed to like animated comedies or sitcoms etc) I've ever really cared about. Loved it from start to finish. Got into it around 4th season, watched the first 2 seasons in less than a week, EASILY. It was all downhill for me from there :P Quickly became an addict, and even loved the ending. Nuts to the haters, this show still has a profound effect on me. Wonderful, movie-like storytelling in the form of a TV show.
i got into it seeing the last couple of minutes of the season 1 finale when the others take walt..... man that spooked me... and made me want to see more

I'm not sure if you guys ever noticed
I always Wondered if Chino is a LOST fan.... Cause Season 5, Episode 5 name is "This Place Is Death".... Im not sure if it's that episode as well but I remember that "Eloise" or could of been someone else not sure they say the same thing *This Place is Death*
Yeah dude I'm pretty sure I read an interview where they said that was where they got the song title from. It was a crucial episode too if I recall, when they were about to go back.
cool..
Question for lost fans:
so in season 6 , the man in black told Jack that Locke had to be dead before he can look like him. Locke's death occured off the Island and obviously we didnt see the man in black or whatever appearance he took get off the Island. So any theories as to how he did it?
Thats one thing the writers SHOULD have explained!

I don't understand what you're asking. The Man In Black looked like Locke before Locke was dead?
When did we see Man in Black look like Locke? When we see him sitting on the beach underneath the blanket. In season 6, MiB told Jack that John Locke had to be dead before he could look like him. We watch John die in a motel room and then get placed in coffin so my question is how did the MiB become John Locke if the body just laid in the coffin and then get locked away in cargo?
He appears as Locke, that doesn't mean it is Locke. The corpse is going to be somewhere, buried or in a coffin somewhere. But the MiB takes his shape. Just like how Christian died in Australia but then his coffin was in the original crash so MiB was able to appear as Christian.
Right, but Christian's body was on the Island when we saw the MiB take his shape. His casket was open so possibly he was able to take his shape because the physical body was there.
As for Locke, his body was locked away in a coffin and then in the cargo box that Ilyana was carrying.
Ok. I just never thought it really mattered whether or not it was locked up or not.
I just finished watching LOST and the ending was utter crap. Otherwise, I really loved the show.
Is there any explanation given about the polar bears? My brother said it would be answered but I don't remember it ever being answered.
I cant believe you did like the Lost.
20 episodes in one season
17 seperate memories/story
3 ''explaining nothing'' final episodes
Lost is a good serie if you REALLY have so many spare times.
I actually watched this during Finals Week, which is probably why I got a few B+ in my classes. But it was all worth it.
You study at collage?
somewhere in season 3 they explained the polar bears... but at the moment i cant remember..lol

Yeah. I'll be a senior in the fall. I feel like I've been in college forever.

Argh! How did I miss that?
What's your branch?
I'm studying Radio/TV/Film.
Did anyone else get sick of Jack's God complex or Kate being a hot mess? I could complain that they should have killed her off sooner, but I guess that doesn't really matter anymore does it?
No way, they needed Kate around, running in them skimpy tanktops every episode.
Granted, she is a very pretty woman but c'mon! The only thing she was good for was mucking everything up.

he kinda looks like thom yorke
Bump.
After being @ work with no other distractors and being this the only page that is open, and with my cellphone broken, I'm reading this thread because i've also started watching this show a couple of months ago and even when i've missed some episodes, it has me really interested from the very beginning.
And yeah, I also keep saying that Ben looks a lot like Thom Yorke.
How I miss this show... I thinks it's time for me to re watch this....

oh yes. definitely. "this place is death" came from this show. and it showed yesterday.
That's what I was thinking also. Plus, the episode was broadcasted on Feb 09, perfect timing.
I've just finished this show yesterday and at the end, a lot of questions where remaining, even when they may have not been that relevant at the end.
And all the theories that I had after "the incident" for the finale they went to the pipe.
I don't know if I would laugh or cry or how to feel at all after watching "The End".
But I'm sure I want to start it again from thebeginning.

however those who survived the ending (hugo, ben, kate, claire, sawyer, etc.), lived on but obviously eventually passed on entered the purgatory. (this is from the ending when ben and hugo are chatting it up, mentioning that "you were a great #2". that signified that at least those 2 guys lived on for a while still on the island)
I had the impression that those all who escaped on the plane... died when it crashed right after taking off, wasn't this the same plane that appears on the final credits? :o
