I only remember playing the original vaguely but I remember that it was pretty damn hard too.
it's come to that point where I get so fucking annoyed I just throw the controller to the side and turn off the tv every 20 minutes or so. a couple days ago I thought I had finally got the hand of the game since I didn't have any problems killing the ordinary ninja enemies and climbing around on walls etc. but then I realized it was still early on in the game and the real tough parts were still to come.
fucking piece of crap. it's as close I'll ever get to being a ninja for real though, so I'm sticking with it.

Its was a classic PSOne game in which you played one of two ninjas.It was a stealth game mainly in which the idea was to sneak up on enemies and stealth kill them rather than all out hack and slash and part 3 came out on the PS2 and rocked my world for 6 months.
It got average ratings but was an aquired taste and is well worth a look if your into games of that theme.

cool, I still use my PSOne a lot so I'll check it out. I was a bit disappointed in Ninja Gaiden for the fact that you don't sneak around like a real ninja. it's still cool though, but I prefer the assassin style gameplay. Hitman 2 rawks.

IF you love the FF series then Kingdom Hearts is very similar, just straight on the action gameplay, Not strategey style.

I havent played Legend yet, but yeah agree with what you say about The Last Revelation and Chronicles. They just completely lack the ace-ness of the first 3 games. Taking away the 'Home' option was a bad move haha!

And Resident Evil is still kick ass graphics wise on PS2, But i spose GameCube never really did have that many awesome games, So it's a nice addition to the GC collection.

YES! Like in Sims2... when you are building up your home and land and such it pauses the game. On this, Im trying to make a pond... lay grass... get homes for these bastid pinata's and the whole time life goes on... And them FCKIN SOUR PINATA'S. The Crocodile thing is the worst. What level are you guys? We just got to level 33 I believe.

OMG Manhunt is still owning my soul! Trying to beat everything on Hardcore with no radar so I can get the special codes. Got the Pigsy suit though, and that shit's sick. I have about six or seven more levels to complete and then I've cleared the game 100%.
Thinking about moving onto the Onimusha series next. I've got all four so I'll probably play them in order. Samurai and demons, how much cooler can you get?

Rule of Rose, some weird Silent Hill type game where a secret society of little girls live alone in an orphanage and do really cruel, horrible things. It's like Lord of the Flies, but even darker. Within the first five minutes you see two girls with paper sacks over their heads beating a bloody burlap sack with sticks. My kind of game.

I'm actually with you on most of that. Morrowind is lightyears ahead in many ways. it's more beautiful, it's more dark and scary which I like... but there are a few parts of the gameplay I prefer with Oblivion. such as the number of levels you can gain, and the fact that you can no longer pump up your Strength by just jumping endlessly. and a few other things.
but the thing with enemies levelling with you really really sucks. I've tried several characters with different skills and stats and I always think the game is really hard.
Yeah man, the point in levelling is that at the beginning of the game or something you'll be too weak to beat a certain guy.. So you'll run off, go kill a shitload of weak fuckers, have a big ol' adventure killing and levelling.. Then come back to the original guy and kick his ass all over the place. Coming back to Balmora and taking out a guard in one hit is a great feeling man. Morrowind was a great game. Truly open ended.
Oblivion has a couple things over it I guess, but nothing too important besides graphics. Plus I can understand how people who never played Morrowind thought highly of Oblivion.
I really hope Bethesda pays attention to fan feedback this time and makes the next installment better.
agreed. Bethesda will be developing Fallout 3 btw. I dunno if you're familiar with the earlier Fallout games, but Fallout 2 is considered one of the best rpg's ever. it's old though, has 2D graphics and is turnbased. but the whole thing with those games is that they're set in a really cool post-apocalyptic wasteland, totally Mad Max style. and the humor is awesome. I'm a bit worried that Bethesda will take away all the jokes and gore and just turn Fallout 3 into Oblivion set in another world. and there are also rumours saying it will be an online rpg only. however, if they don't completely ruin it, it might turn out to be one of the best and fucking coolest games ever made. so keep your eyes open for that one.
other than that I can recommend Neverwinter Nights 2 if you want a good rpg.
I have a friend at work who's really into his games. He recommended Neverwinter Nights aswell. I'll check 'em out. Baldurs Gate he wont stfu about either.
The whole Fallout things sounds good too.. With the post-apocalyptic setting and shit.
Baldur's Gate is a great game too, one of my favorites. especially the first game. but it's a lot more "serious" rpg than Morrowind and Oblivion. it's not the same kind of action.
check out Fallout 2 if you want a hilarious and gory game set in an awesome environment but don't mind old 2D graphics and turn-based combat. it can get a bit slow at times, but there's nothing more satisfying than walking up to an enemy with a minigun and blasting him into little pieces that fly all over the screen.

I know. I have it. I didn't like the story as much and KOTOR had a much better feeling atmosphere, but alot of the things in KOTOR2 that were expanded upon are really fucking cool. Like lightsaber customization and the fact that almost all of your party members can be trained to become jedi. I really liked that. The first time I played through, I had Atton as just some boring blaster pistol dude that I never used, the second time I had him swinging lightsabers all over the place. I also liked the fact that you can persuade party members to like you more and then have an entire party full of people that lean to the dark side. A couple of the planets are cool too. I really liked Dxun and Onderon.
yeah, I agree on all of that. it's a shame they released KOTOR2 too early (not the developers fault, they were pushed to it) because it could've become such an amazing game.
btw, like I said earlier in this thread... Neverwinter Nights 2 is a great game, and it's developed by the same people as KOTOR. actually, they're pretty much the same game except that NWN2 is in a fantasy world and you have more freedom. same rules and all that.

yeah, man. they're both based on dungeons & dragons rules, haha. like it or not. of course, they made some changes for KOTOR to fit the Star Wars world. but the combat is the same.

no, not really. it's not like Diablo or Titan Quest. it has a lot more to do with KOTOR.
thing is, it's pretty much the same people making all these games. they've just moved over to other companies and changed names etc. dating back to Fallout and to NWN2 which is the latest game they released.
and out of all these game these are the ones that use the same combat system and similar game engines, the difference between the games being graphics, setting, and what edition of D&D rules they use: Baldur's Gate 1+2, Icewind Dale 1+2, Planescape: Torment, KOTOR 1+2 and Neverwinter Nights 1+2.

-Changing the color crystal will "reset" your lightsaber, meaning that all of the glitched effects will be lost. This also means that you can't duplicate a glitched lightsaber.

started playing BioShock today. kickass game. I love the atmosphere, the storyline and the scariness. I just gotta get a little more comfortable with the fighting (I play on PC)... it's so damn dark and when 5 Splicers are charging you and you can barely see them things can get a bit... awkward.
remember how I asked if it's a lot like System Shock 2? well, it's a "spiritual" sequel to that game and it's indeed a lot like it. so I suggest anyone who enjoys BioShock check out System Shock 2. it's pretty old, not nearly as good looking as BioShock... but it's one of my alltime favorite games and the story and atmosphere are at least as good and scary. the gameplay is pretty much the same, only a little more RPG-inspired. you purchase upgrades for your character and can make him stronger, faster, more agile... and choose which type of weapon to be good with. check it out.

cool, enjoy it. it's awesome. I gotta say though, after completing it I was kinda disappointed. like I said before, System Shock 2 is one of my all-time favorite games, and if you look past the nice surface of BioShock it's pretty much just a dumbed down version of that game.
Yeah I read up on it and shit. I been following it for a long time but didn't buy it on release. I've heard that the ending is a bit of a letdown from a few different sources. That's cool with me though because the game is really fucking amazing.
I can understand you leaning towards the previous title too. I've never played it, but so many game sequels get cummed all over when the original was just soo much better in my eyes. Oblivion following Morrowind is an example I use a lot. Really just a watered down version that looks better.
I'm enjoying this so far though. Living up to my expectations. I just have soo many things to cram into my days off work that it's hard to sit down and take in a game. It's more short little bursts that don't let me enjoy it properly.

been playing Gears of War at a friends place for a few nights now. fucking awesome game. we've only done the first chapter in co-op as we're mostly just playing on Xbox Live or against each other. but holy shit, that is a lot of fun. even though it's split screen and you see what the other guy's doing, the games can get really interesting.

Halo definately has more variety, but gears is more intense. If you don't stay alive you are out for the round, where in halo you can run around like an idiot cause you know you will respawn.

I've played through CoD4 once and I'm playing on Hardened now. I don't know if it's only because I get pretty bad frame rates in large battles, but this game seems a lot harder than CoD2. sure, you have better weapons and some other nice things at your disposal, but a lot of the time you can barely see the enemies and they tend to surround you all the friggin time.
really cool game though. they kept the spirit of CoD2 and simply modernized it. the campaign is way too short though.

I haven't looked it up that much simply because I know it will be fucking awesome but I still want to be surprised when I play it for the first time, if you know what I mean. I don't want to know exactly what to expect.
so many great games nowadays. first we get Call of Duty 4, Hellgate: London and Gears of War for PC. soon Mass Effect and next year Fallout 3. plus a whole lot else I simply haven't looked up yet but I've heard are/will be awesome.

Haha, no way. It's hella short yeah apparently, but I don't have the time to sit down at games for too long now. I'm not 15 anymore unfortunately. Gone are the days of my Playstation being on for like 2 days straight.

just completed Gears of War for PC. it's a great game but I just don't see what the big hype was all about. it's pretty monotone and the story isn't engaging at all. plus, it's really short. and I read that they added lots of content to the PC version so I can only imagine how short the 360 version must've been.
it's still a fucking awesome multiplayer game.
I wasn't blown away by gears either, but it looks and plays great.
I still wish someone from here would play AVP 2 for PC! bastids.....

Crysis is fucking awesome. I definitely recommend it to all you PC gamers. the story, the scenery, the weapons, the special powers... so fucking good. I don't get the whole deal with people saying it's the best looking game so far though. on my computer Call of Duty 4 looks ten times better.

There is only one thing wrong with this game, sometimes the combat sequences are just unfair. Like, the part on the moon (luna) where you go in and destroy that rogue AI, the third building is fucking impossible to clear out on any difficulty setting than easy. I had a hard time both times I did that quest.

spectrobes was good if you like pokemon, i also enjoyed elite beat agents, super princess peach, animal crossing, FFIII and drawn to life. I heard about a game from japan that detects magnetic fields to find monsters and the bigger the field the bigger the monster. i cant remember what its called but my g33k friend told me it was awesome.

Pretty good actually. I'm still learning some new skills and getting a hang of the basics but the combos are awesome and the story is really nice. I like to rev up the sword and bust out some firey uppercut combos in midair.

i will stick with starcraft though coz warcraft is way to chaotic for me. every fucking unit has special abilities. really hard to win against the cpu on easy for me.

it's a great game but I agree, playing custom games against the cpu takes a lot of skill... I've beaten it once and I did that on the smallest map by attacking constantly from the very beginning of the game. real-time strategy games are not for me...

I mean, I loved the story, the dialogues, the graphics and a lot of small details they managed to get in there. but a very big part of the game just felt really lazy and generic. but I guess that's become standard in video games nowadays.

damn, I don't know what to play next... after finishing Mass Effect that's all I can think of. I miss the story and my character. and the ending was so powerful I feel like no other game can affect me that much right now.

I don't agree :P playing with friends is a lot of fun with certain games, but on the whole I prefer long single player games with a good story. to me, good games are like reading an interactive book, or watching an interactive movie that lasts for many many hours. I'm not too fond of games that only offer simple entertainment for a short while and can then be forgotten.
So true man. Playing with friends is can be pretty awesome, but a quality game with an engaging story is so much better. I just picked up and started playing metal gear solid for the first time in my life, even though the graphics and gameplay both are really outdated, i can't stop playing.

So true man. Playing with friends is can be pretty awesome, but a quality game with an engaging story is so much better. I just picked up and started playing metal gear solid for the first time in my life, even though the graphics and gameplay both are really outdated, i can't stop playing.
I'm playing it too. The Twin Snakes Remake on the Gamecube so the graphics aren't as dated as the PS version and it's a little different.
It brings back so many memories though. I got the original PS version on release and it was probably the first time I'd been moved by a videogame. It's fantastic.

I'm on the first missions with the Rasta dude, which some could say a coincidence seeing as how I'm really digging the Bad Brains lately...yes yes I know Right Brigade is on this game and yes I like the song, it's pretty much the only song on the L.C.H.R. (Liberty City HardCore) radio station that I actually like, lol...all the other bands on that station sort of sound the same to me, white punks who make their voices sound tough and harsh etc.

Bioshcok was such a disappointment for me. I know I've said it before, but you should play the old System Shock 2 instead. sure, the graphics are nowhere close to Bioshcok. but the atmosphere is even better, it's even scarier and it's a lot harder and has more interesting gameplay.

that shit is gonna rock. while I do love CoD4, I've missed the WW2 scenario a lot. CoD2 is still my favorite.
While it'll no doubt be a fun game, it's still WW2 so back to the old shitty weapons and stuff. Also, it's back to the COD3 guys and that game sucked.
To be honest though, I'm not the biggest fan of COD4. It's a good game, yeah. Online isn't all that though.

yeah Halo 3 online pisses me off, i just stopped playing it about a month after i got it. About 80% of the people on there use cheap tactics that was just so retarted. So i picked up CoD4 and that was so much more realistic, and it is probably the most fun and the longest I've played a game since Perfect Dark or Goldeneye on N64.
My recommendation for the single player campaign is to beat it on veteran mode. I guarantee you that will take you quite some time to beat. I loved the story of the single player.

Compared to the PC, yes, console shooters do suck. CS:Source ruled my life for a long time. Battlefield 2 on PC also for a while.
But in terms of what's available to play on xbox live, Halo 3 is my gizzame.
Although I don't play them anymore, PC games are better online IMO. Xbox is just easier. Kick back, play. Loads of my friends have Xboxes too so it's more a social thing.

say what you will, but console shooters are made easier and always have more or less auto-aim due to the difficulty aiming with a controller. PC shooters are made harder and most have no auto-aim at all.

I used to play the first Brothers In Arms a lot. it looked really cool on the surface and the idea was great. but every damn fight was the same: take cover, put down supressive fire, flank... rinse, repeat. got old real fast. add to that that neither graphics nor controls were anywhere near CoD2.
I haven't checked out the new game though, it might be lightyears better for all I know.

I was talking to him as he completed it about an hour ago. Said the end is a bit shitty but it was a very enjoyable game. But yeah, multiplayer is lacking.

well those were the best games on the system, but yeah the Gamecube has been a dead system for about 3 years so they really should be pretty cheap.

Silent Hill: Homecoming - awesome so far. Extremely impressed by the atmosphere and feel. It reminds me of SH2.
Indigo Prophecy - PS2 game, set up like a movie. Really cool story and you can play as a killer and the detectives trying to solve the case.

The new FF battle system (well, new for console games) takes some getting used to but the graphics are nice.

yeah sucks. i'm kind of overload lately with videogames. I'm currently playing 3 games, but that does NOT include Fallout 3, Fable 2, and Gears 2. all of which i hope to get soon.

actually this whole, I've been happy with a lot of games, especially since what everyone thought were going to be the "best" all came out last Spring (GTA4, MGS4, smash bros, mariokart, etc)

I'm not saying all games are bad these days, there have been plenty enjoyable games. but all my favorite games which I can still play over and over again are pretty much all made before 2000 with only a few exceptions. more recent games I can only enjoy for one maybe two playthroughs and then they just don't hold up anymore. but that's how developers do games these days - the industry has grown so big that there are more games coming out all the time and you don't need games to last very long these days because there's always something else to play. at the same time the casual gamers have become a huge majority of the gaming industry and pretty much all games are made for this group.
I probably sound like I'm trying to put people down here, but I'm definitely not. I just miss when games were innovative and had more depth.

Fuck yeah! I just finally bought a 360 but I keep all of my old systems and that is what I usually play on. I gradually upgrade because I don't see the point in dropping cash for a system that will be cheaper in a few years and I'll still have all of my old, better games to keep my occupied.

I agree with you to en extent man. The games industry is getting bigger all the time and there are more and more huge releases that just don't hold up in the long run. Games tend to go out of fashion quickly now too. Like at the moment I'm playing Assassins Creed, right? I had that shit last Christmas but I only just started playing. People hear I'm playing it though, or see I'm playing it on Live and they find it funny I'm playing a game that's like soooooo last year or whatever. That's ridiculous.
I work with a bunch of guys who are into the 360 and the whole accessibility of it, like it's their first games console, you know? Like their wife bought it for them or some shit because "all the other guys got one" or whatever. It used to be like me, a couple friends and whoever would own the same console.. or maybe I had a PSX and my friends would have a Saturn. Now EVERYBODY has a 360. Like maybe 30 people I know. To them it's just a must do to play the newest games and get rid of the old one a lot of the time. There really aren't many classics made nowadays.
It really sucks right now though because there are a bunch of games just coming out or that have recently been released that I wanted to jump on, but couldn't because my financial situation is fucked right now.
I'll say also that the gaming scene as a whole is just getting horrible. 13 and 14 year olds, raised in the PS2 era just turning every discussion into a 360 vs PS3 war or something. The same kids I have to mute on Halo 3 because they've grown up sitting in their rooms, making online 'friends' and not developing real social skills. It's sad, you know?
Online gaming is great, it really is. Counter Strike could be better than fucking sex back in the day. But while it's cool for us who've grown up through many previous console generations, I think it's a bad thing for gamers who are being raised on it, who don't know any better. Technically it is brilliant but socially it's fucking destructive.
I often miss the days of having to buy a fucking Playstation or Dreamcast magazine to know what was going on, or fucking Gamesmaster or some shit. Going round my friends for a Goldeneye all nighter and actually playing with people in the same room as me, you know? It was fun.
We still have Goldeneye parties! Two nights ago actually. And some of my brother's younger friends, those that barely know what an N64 is, fucking love it.
Respect man. Mine is stashed away somewhere with all my other consoles. It's just a shame it's not still like that. I mean why actually leave the room when you can meet up with the 'friends' online for 16 player, right?

remember GameSharks too?? I remember getting excited because my cousin got the Cradle level for multiplayer Goldeneye. Granted it was laggy as shit, but whoa that was one of the coolest things
oh and yeah, I am happy with my 360. I do enjoy the online experience, and the fact that all my friends have it. But our generation is totally the best, haha. Being raised during the SNES/Genesis wars or the the whole battle when Sony entered the market made us awesome. good times...

Only a small amount of levels atm but it's moddable so it should get better.Single player is pretty weak with pretty crap NPC A.I but it shines online.
Best co-op game I've played and being on the source engine means it looks awesome without having to spend $$$ on new gear.
If you dig run and gun FPS and are a Romero fan GET THIS GAME!!

bah, wait until you enter the metro tunnels for the 10th time, everything looks exactly the same and just like before you have to wade through a sea of ghouls (who Bethesda mistook for zombies, which they actually are not)... it gets tiring. the game is good, there are some really great parts in it - especially the VATS system impressed me more than I thought it would. but the game is simple like a walk in the park and repetative as fuck.

played Red Alert 3 for a while last night. can't say I'm impressed. I have very fond memories of Red Alert and Tiberian Sun but I'm not really into these base-bulding RTS games anymore. and while the humor and silliness of RA3 was fun for the first 5 minutes it got old pretty fast.

MGS is a great series. I played the newest one on my friend's PS3, and it is prett-y awesome. I've played a little bit of the 2nd one (very good) and the one for PSP that utilizes the card system (prett-y sill-y lol). Own the first one for PS1
and the 3rd one for PS2 but both our PS1

From what I've heard just Dead Air and Death Toll Versus maps and a new mode called Survival. Nothing terribly different, but will give me an excuse to play again. I love L4D.

So, No Mercy finale, I grab the molotov, run out of the safe room, turn, and light my team on fire screaming, "This is for Louis you sons a bitches!" Then I proceed to the elevator shaft and jump down.

Currently playing Left 4 Dead (I can't help it!), Condemned 1 and 2 for achievements, and GoW 1 and 2 for achievements. I'm all about achievement completion.
Okay, I've got to share this. I keep trying Left 4 Dead to finish the last achievement, but Expert is absolute bullshit and we end up screwing around more often than not. Anyway, while playing a Versus round on Blood Harvest, stage 2, I spawned as the tank outside of the tunnel near the save room. I managed to smash the downed tree into the tunnel to take out all four survivors single handedly. Dead. My score was 12,361. My team went fucking crazy lol. That's the highest score I've ever seen while playing versus, and I only tried it on a whim. Boosh!
what do you mean you can smash a downed tree? i need to get that All 4 Dead achievement.
Anything that glows red when you are the tank is smashable. If you hit a survivor with anything that can be batted then it is an instant incap. An easy place to get the achievement is the first stage of No Mercy. You can smack cars around and if they even brush a survivor they're down. What's your tag? I'm on at least a little bit every day.
Completely forgot I already had you as a friend. I'll see what you're up to next time you're on and we'll grab you some achievements.

i can not, but i can tell you that it's awesome. I got it a few days ago, i've been playing it a lot. One thing is bothering me though. I started playing with the computer on medium difficulty. Is it really? I thought it'd be quite the opposite. Who in their right minds would give Jack Black his own video game? He doesn't need anymore ego boosters, he already thinks Tenacious D is the greatest rock band ever.(Won't lie they're really good, but not the best.) Do you think there's a Kyle Gass storyline too?
Jack Black is the voice of the main character, yes, but other than that he had no say in it. I remember reading about this game about a year or 2 ago, and at that point Black wasn't even cast yet as the voice. In the end though, he is absolutely perfect for this role, the story and dialogue is hilarious. So far you can play the game as a hack-n-slash or more of a strategy game in the vein of Warcraft. Supposedly Kyle Gass in it in somewhere, but I haven't come across him. Ozzy is in it, Brian Posehn's character is funny as hell, and Tim Curry is cool as usual. Also, Lemmy Kilmister plays a guy named The Killmaster. How can you go wrong with that?

anyways, the more I think about Modern Warfare 2 the more I dislike it... the story is fucking ridiculous and to be honest it's still not totally clear to me exactly what is happening. but things are just way over the top and where the previous game had a believable story, this just feels like they came up with one "awesome" and "cool" level after the other, then just threw in some excuses to tie them together to some sort of story line.
and after reading a bit on how fucked up MP is I'm not even gonna touch that. apparantly heartbeat sensors ruin the game, and all people do is camp in corners, shoot through walls and use airstrikes and things like that.
i actually think that modern warfare 2 multiplayer is possibly the best i've ever played. i havent really played all that much of the single player yet.. but the multiplayer is just plain awesome
I just started playin MW2 multiplayer last night and am already level 17. It was actually pretty addictive and I'll be floating around between this and L4D2 from now on.

I love Domination! And the camping can be a pain, but you just have to learn to storm. Hit me up next time you're playing and I'll jump in for a round or two. Lol my friend called and asked me what was wrong since I wasn't on Left 4 Dead. However, my clan is L4D and I've pulled of few of my fellow zombie killers over as well.

I have been playing a shitload of NHL 10 lately. Both be a pro, and be a GM mode with a friend of mine. Playing 2 or more on the same team with position lock is so much fun.
I just got NHL 10 for Christmas. Such a brilliant hockey game.

I agree with you completely.
I thought ME1 was one of the greatest games I've ever played, but now ME2 is even more amazing (though I actually miss going to uncharted planets with Mako and encountering some weird shit going on there; even if the planets seemed kinda similar to each other and dull, I did enjoy it).
I'm now recruiting all the crew members (I have everyone except the first one, not highlighted, guess plot related, everyone is loyal except for Miranda (she was loyal, but then had a quarrel with Jack and deloyalized, lol) and will be going to the collector relay soon.
By the way, please, no spoilers - I do enjoy the plot very much and it'd be kinda disappointing to know that Jesus and Doumbledore (no idea how this is spelled) dies in the end :(

I have a hard-on for pretty much all sci-fi, and horror as well. So Dead Space was pretty awesome. ME1 was one of the best games I'd played in forever, in ways much better than Crysis for me.

it's great to see more games nowadays have incredible stories and narratives. next up, I'm hoping, is BioShock 2 next week. the original was another great game like mass effect that took me by complete surprise when it came out.
I brought out Manhunt and ran through several of the levels for the first time in a year or so. Classic.
Dead Space had some of the scariest game play I've ever witnessed in a game in such a long time -- and I've only ever played the demo..
I played Darksiders this past weekend and it struck me as a game I would have really enjoyed had I been a 13 year old again. Not a bad game, but not a good one. Mark Hamill was a plus.
downloading the new Alien vs Predator demo. kinda sucks that it's multiplayer only, but oh well. at least I get a new AvP fix!

the entire game was too simple even though I played on Veteran. like I said, on Insanity it's finally a challenge. now I have to actually worry about my team mates and use some tactics in combat.
Dragon Age was pretty cool, but I never finished it. I will pick it up again when I'm done with ME2. some things annoyed me a lot though, for example your inventory will always be full because you find so much loot it'll drive you insane. and the dungeon crawls are a bit too long. combat is really nice though.

I played MW2 up until i was a lvl 40? I got my mario price emblem and my Companion crate sign and pretty much stopped playing and moved on to Battle Field Bad company 2.
Borderlands is highly addicting haha Im almost a lvl 61 and im on my second played through. I have a 57 Hunter and a level 25 siren.
On PS3 ive been playing Heavy Rain and God of war 3.
I NEED to play Heavy Rain. looks really interesting, and it's all my cousin has been talking about for the last month. gotta borrow it from him.

I'm not a fanboy either way, but I play both and prefer MW2. The speed and chaos are more my style, but I do like how massive Battlefield is at times, and the vehicles are a plus. They both have their pros.

i will admit it's definitely inconsistent compared to BFBC2. it's like chatroulette, where you have to wade through the dicks to get something interesting. like that 38 streak i had was awesome, but it came after being 3 separate lobbies filled with, what my friends have officially referred to as, faggery.

That's always how it goes with us too. Team Deathmatch is a little better than Ground War usually.

it really is a spectacular game. my cousin got it and we switched off now and then with the missions. it might have the best graphics i've seen, it was truly like a movie. i love how there is so much to do like the hunting and meeting strangers, even when it takes like 15 minutes to go from one town to another.

yeah, it's been getting pretty bad reviews in the US, but here in Europe it's been getting alot better (usually around 7-8/10).
I'm almost at the very end and I've loved every bit of it so far. I played it non-stop from saturday noon until last night, that's how much I love it. I don't care that much about graphics, and the few glitches I've encountered have been very minor. the controls aren't top-notch and AI is pretty crap. but I'm playing on Hard, which means that if someone sees me and gets a shot off at me I'm pretty much dead. so AI isn't a big issue, seeing as how I sneak past most guards or take them down with stealth.
what I love about the game (and what I look for in these types of games) is the storytelling, how you choose your own path and affect which people to have on your side. the dialogue is amazing with great voice-acting and great characters. your choices really do affect the gameplay, which makes dialogue a lot more exciting (there's always a time-limit when you choose your answer). little things in-between missions like buying intel, reading e-mails and modding your equipment are also a lot of fun and add a lot of flavor.
I really think you should give it a try. might not be for everyone, but I love these kind of games (it reminds me a lot of one of my favorite games: Deus Ex) and like I said, most things reviewers complain about in this game have only felt secondary to the really good parts.
i think i will. i love these games with great dialogue systems. and also the fact that i've been anticipating this thing for over a year, dammit it does look really fun.
nice. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. just don't expect a highly polished AAA-title.
also, the tutorial might be a bit boring/annoying and isn't really a good start of the game. but stick it out and you'll notice that things get better when you start speclializing in skills and getting a hang of the gameplay.

definitely man, those exclusives are very good (I've actually recently rediscovered how great of a game Gears 2 is). plus then you get to play Splinter Cell, Left 4 Dead on top of the upcoming Halo Reacharound. oh yeah and fucking Fable. that series kicks ass.

I fucking laughed at the torquebow comment, as I have already screamed it about a dozen times today. And some of the instant kill shotgun blasts piss me off, since it takes at least two for me normally. I don't mind the close-up battles, but the camping with mortars, snipers, etc? Fuck that. It is an awesome game though, and congrats on 50, I'm still working on finishing that achievement.

i don't know man, i really dug the campaign mode and storyline in this, especially the co-op. you mentioned the customizations, which i fell in love with.
the changes they made to firefight are for the better, and the addition of invasion mode in multiplayer is great (think rush mode from the battlefield games, if you've played those).

It's pretty fun. The multiplayer took me a minute too, like a combination of MW2's speed with Battlefield's team games and feel.
On the other hand, Dead Rising 2 is the tits. That is all.

Been playing Black Ops. Fucking awesome. The spawns in multiplayer are a bit fucked, hit markers are off, and the servers are sluggish, but overall it's the most fun I've had with a COD for a while. Plus, zombies, a contra style mini game, and the new wager matches are the tits. And they brought back dogs.

and yes, I thought Fallout 3 was pretty boring without mods. I used mods to add more weaponry, to make enemies smarter and more dangerous, to add weapon mods and a survival aspect to it similar to the one in New Vegas.

heh, I don't even bother with game reviews anymore. too many being payed off, too many simply biased. name one AAA title in recent year that hasn't been praised to the moon and back.
that said, this time Bethesda outdid themselves on several levels. at the same time, they're good ol' lazy Beth who can't be bothered to fix some apparent bugs and who care more about how the game plays on console than PC. the PC version is little more than a pretty bad console port. the interface is clunky as hell and a real pain in the ass to handle.

HOLY FUCK. I'm in love with Skyrim. So much good stuff happening. I just had a random encounter with a dragon in the mountains and i had to run for my life to the nearest camp to get some help to fight the beast. Epic! Definitely a step up difficulty wise from oblivion. In oblivion i never had to abort a mission because it was too hard. I've had to do that twice so far in Skyrim. I could walk around all day just looking at the salmon jumping up the rivers.
Sadly I became addicted to Battlefield 3 now I must play my 3 to 5 hours in a row LOL

yeah, I'm so sick of that. I visit a game-related forum a lot and over there it's constant bickering over the ending. I was perfectly fine with it. most of the arguments against it are based on people needing to have all the answers in front of them. people can't think for themselves, can't use their imagination and think that as long as they get loud enough, they will get their way.
I can't believe people feel "entitled" to a different ending than the creators of the game have come up with. their piece of artwork, their decision. don't buy it if you aren't happy with it.

IT IS SHITTY little bit like RE5 does.

7- A zombie
8- Walk
9- Open 23 doors

12- 26 zombies and you are out of ammo (which is good)
The gameplay is nothing like RE4, it is completly RE5..
The good thing is it is a better version of RE5. There are 4 way dodges, it is really useful
But the annoying part is cutscenes ARE EVERYWHERE
But again, it is Resident Evil and YOU HAVE TO play it, you know.
About B2..I completly agree with you..im on a break cause of RE6. The game is too long..

No way, I can't wait to play Dishonored. The voice cast is fantastic, the gameplay videos look awesome, and the style reminds you of Bioshock probably because it was made by dudes who made Bioshock. Also, I thought this is supposed to be a stealth game, since you can go the whole game without killing anyone.
And I played some of RE6 with my buddy. Fuck that game, it's terrible. I realize it's supposed to be more action (I won't even get into that bullshit in the RE universe), but even the gunplay blows compared to other shooters. Basically the same game as Operation Raccoon City.

- Story is incredible.I really impressed how they put all those seperate campains into a one great story.
- Cutscenes are so proffesional. So many, but after i get into the story it doesnt bother.
- The gameplay is not easy ! I fucking died so many times. And got out of ammos..
- Quickshot option is so great. Especially do it with Leon 4 times over and over with handgun. He is gonna do Dante (of DMC) gunslinger move..
- The music is movielike. I was waiting something more with piano but, still fits with the game.
- It is fucking loooong. Capcom really made full of contents. Some other online people joined to my campain as creatures, it was fuckin dope.
- 4 way dodges are so good. So many new things added.
- Increadible action scenes. Also so many suprises. I picked Pierce and got 1 arm infected and became a godlike zombie..it was amazing..
- Ada and Jake are so fuckin cool.
- Dialogs are well done

This is an interesting point. Horror in movies and therefore video games has evolved in the last 10 decade or so. It's not that new, but Condemned is on the 360 and is good example of a horror video game. Go check it out, it gave me the creeps.

Going along with the above, I realize horror and mechanics change (look at the tank controls from the PS1 days), but at least make an effort to have some atmosphere or some scary moments, like in the first 4 games. That creepy atmosphere was what made it stand out from all the other bullshit in that era.
This also conflicts with nostalgia. Everyone raves about what they grew up on (like me with recent conversations on Bond, ALF, Resident Evil, Dukes of Hazzard), but the truth is, even though you have fond memories of it, years later a lot of nostalgic stuff is crap.
Sorry for the mini-essay, haha. And all that said, I will eventually trudge through this eventually. Just to know how far the storyline has gone to hell.

That looks I dunno,I never played the other games so for me is like any other RPG game.
The bioshock games, are more action adventure than anything else. The atmosphere in the two prior ones is so good. But i must admit that i never finished bioshock 2. Infinite looks pretty good though.

Bioshock is a FPS game.
The difference between this and classic CoD-like games is Bioshock is one hand GUN, one hand SPECIAL POWER game.
There are many powers like Telekinesis, electric, fire, ice, teleport, stone etc..
The first 2 game was underwater - ATLANTIS.
This one has SKY concept named Columbia.

Unlike the 2nd game which had like 5 different developers and kinda stunk to be honest (especially the multiplayer).

The story is what kept me in with the last couple. Love the history they involve in the stories, like the Borgias, Machiavelli, etc in the Ezio Trilogy. The first game is the only one I couldn't finish. It was pretty bad, especially compared to subsequent games.

Well the actual Mario are pretty bitchin', so I can't complain about that. And Mariokart is one of my favorite series ever. Nintendo's also been for some Metroid games, and Kirby, Donkey Kong, Punch-Out, Sin & Punishment. Too bad those are basically the only good games the Wii's seen in its 6 year life.

Skyrim is one of the best games I have put my time into ...I know that makes all the old Elder Scrolls gamers from day 1 heads salty for some reason.....but it is. The missions are awesome and the NPC's you meet almost make it like a neverending tale.
Ive played it for awhile and havent had to many glitch probs and the visuals are so awesome on a hd 55 inch even though i have a shitty 360 and the factory speakers are shit.Its best game ive played ( and yea for all you ags i never owned a PC that can play games up to par....

Even after all the talking up I did on the Wii, nope. I'm still not convinced it'll be more powerful than the 360/ps3. Plus, no large HDD, I despise Nintendo's online, and some other companies need to make some good games. I think the wii u has potential but it all relies on developers to make good games for it, the wii had a ton of shovelware. ill probably pick one up in a few months, i really wanna play zombie u and who doesnt love the mario games. i think nintendo should have came out of the gate with a better flagship title than new super mario bros for release though.
Who here use's a flashed or modded console, I use a x360key on my Xbox 360 to play games off a extertnal hardrive best thing i ever bought.

The bad thing is there is no ''RENT'' option in here. And games always come like 2 or 3 weeks later after release in here.

In co-op mode we usually we kick each other from platforms by mistake all the time, and that gets a little annoying. But its still fun to drive each other mad all the time ;)
Playing Origins brings back a feeling of good old good times .... Like playing Donkey Kong Country for SNES back in the day.

I've not really been into the whole "point and click" genre of gaming for a long time but imo Telltale do it really well.If you dig the TV show or Romero you''ll dig the game imo.It's more about the story than the gameplay. Just be prepared for lot's of quicktime events :P
yeah. I tried the demo and it was definitely different. After i started looking up reviews and stuff though it seems like everyone is praising these games, so might as well check them out. Story is always good. And i've enjoyed games earlier telltale games aswell. Did you play through all episodes?
I'm up to episode 3 and I've thoroughly enjoyed the whole game game so far.
In saying I'm a huge Zombie/Apocalyptic fan so any game/book/movie/tv show with that setting or genre entailed means I'm usually easily biased.Even so it's a great game but many of my gaming friends didn't get it due to the narrative being of more relevance and import than the actual game-play.
I've heard that it's very narrative based aswell but I also heard the whole choice/consequence thing doesn't even matter that much and you usually just end up having to choose one character or another depending on who you want to save and that after the initial choice apart from who you have around with you there are no other consequences is that right?
i recently started playing GTA IV again. i never completely beat the game, so i figured id go back, and finish it off.

First purchased it on PS3 at release, found out the PS3 version was a train wreck at release and traded it.Still I should know better than to buy a Beth game outside PC.Downloading a crap load of mods atm and looking forward to not needing to buy a game for a bit, if it's anything like my friends tell me I will be busy for some time.

I think it differs in terms of having relevance to the story when you conclude the game.In saying I've had to make choices of "save this person or that person" so far and obviously the one I saved still has content to deliver to the story.It's a choice based on narrative preference.It's basically like playing a TV show where I think most of the complaint comes from RPG players, which this game is not geared towards in terms of the usual definition of RPG.They tend to think relevance of choice at end-game, which imo is not what this game is about.
It's really different and refreshing.I'd suggest any gamer should try it.

Agreed on both games dude. I loved Hitman, I'm even considering splurging on that HD Trilogy that just came out. Either that or I'm holding out hope that the new Aliens game is halfway decent.

You really should try Conviction, especially if you have a friend to play it with. It's probably super cheap nowadays. Single player was a blast, and with the co-op campaign it was so much fun marking and executing and strategizing with a buddy.
Can't wait for Blacklist.

Man, I loved Tomb Raider. I never played any of the other games, didn't interest me. I always thought Lara Croft was a ridiculous character and the gameplay wasn't my thing. But this new game... oh man, it's so much fun. Sucks that I could easily finish it on 100% on the hardest difficulty right away though, no reason to play it again. I hate when games have no replayability.

been digging through my backlog. Finally finished: Portal 2, Skyrim, Rayman Origins, Crysis.
Just finished Tomb Raider. I thought it was too short and the puzzles were way too easy. Not to mention if you even got stuck you could press a button that would show you what you could interact with, etc... Other than that I thought it was great. I wish they would bring the game back to Egypt or something or make it a little more mystical like the originals. Not this high-tech shit...
