There are a lot of HUGE bases in Iraq and Afghanistan.  With no real danger at all.  Just a bunch of military members making shit tons of money.  Have fast food and salsa night and all kinds of shit.  So guys like me get pissed of at them because we are so far forward deployed.  Don't even have showers or real food.  Then they go home acting like war heroes.  It's annoying. 

I'm not saying this is your cousin.  Just a general rant I make.  When I was over there, very far forward.  I love it.  I had the best time of my life.  Some outsider might have assumed I was on the big FOBs myself.  It all just depends on what you are looking for.

I have only been to two conderts.  Tool in like....2001 I think.  and Deftones ont he ST tour.

Well I don't know why.  Maybe there isn't a huge concert culture in Albuquerque?  Pretty much none of my friends like rock.  So I really never had people to go with.  My buddy matt just knew how much I loved deftones so he drove me to see them. My parents are not into music at all, so they never took me.  And the past 3 years, when I can afford to do it, and would go on my own anyways.  I have been either in a training command with strict rules.  Or over seas.  When I first got in I kept missing deftones shows for stupid reasons by like 1 day or 1 week.  God it was pissing me offf. I'm hoping it doesn't happen again.  I'm hoping that moving to cali will help.

But at the same time.  I think I would get bored at  show where I wasn't really into the band.  I mean, I have only seen deftones once.  But think about how awesome that was for me.  And my very first concert was tool.  Thats a pretty awesome concert for your first time.  Ozzfest and all that shit comes through Albuquerque a lot.  But im never like really into the bands, so I didn't go.  I have a pretty short list of bands that I said if they came through town I would HAVE to go see them.  It has grown a little bit since I joined the Navy.  But back then it pretty much would have been Deftones, Tool, and NIN.  But like I said, im hoping for more shows this time around.

same here. I have only been to two Deftones shows, and that's it. It's just that bands of my liking do not come very near where I live. sucks..
