post rock needs a powerfull kick to its ass.

it has become way to homogeneous.

That's because you haven't listened to enough of it to know what you're talking about.

I think you need to listen to some more of the 'post-rock' to make you realise how different each band are, even if they sound like EITS on first listen...
Download some shit that has been posted in this thread, there are some very very good albums here.

I'd say start off with some Jakob maybe, and go from there.

Enjoy.

Jesu/Eluvium Split EP
http://rapidshare.com/files/44718696/su.rar.html

jesu actually brings on some nice stuff there. less heavyness and more trip-hop style and experimental , it feels much more dynamic than the usual stuff, although i miss the dark guitar riffs a bit.

thanx 4 upload

The streets have gone dark. They've been dark for days. We board up the house. Hide upstairs and wait!

So 65 ruled. This Will Destroy you cancelled their tour though. So I payed 12 bucks to put up with two completely shitty emocore bands just so see 65daysofstatic at a venue I don't even like. I can't believe I gave money to Fear Before the March of Flames.

Afterthepostrock is just a site dedicated to post-rock music. It's a cool site to discover new music and bands but the people on there can be real uptight if you don't listen to Godspeed You! Black Emperor or music that wasn't made in the 90's/00's...

I'll be sure to check out that Last Fm though thanks
