don't know if you guys have heard of this blog, but it is the tits. http://postrockcommunity.blogspot.com/

when you get some free time check out some of those bands, I'd never heard of any of them before, but found quite a few that I really like now.

Echelon Effect, found it through the above blog. it's ambient and has a great Epic45/July Skies/Mogwai/GIAA vibe to it.

how much GIAA? I kinda dislike them so I'm on borderline decision here on this band

bright lights, big city

i guess i would call them more ambient and less post-rock than GIAA, if that helps at all, lol  :)

if you live in the North West i'm sure you know what i'm talking about.

Just in case they haven't been mentioned already for everyone who like Mogwai and Isis you should check out Jakob, they're a kiwi post-rock band, supported Isis on their european tour, I reckon they're possibly the best post-rock band I've heard. ( More post-metal maybe )

Also if you wanna check out something new, check out my (heavily post rock inspired) band Fractal Theory, theres even a deftones cover !-  http://www.youtube.com/user/FractalTheoryBand (/shamelessplug)

Does anyone else like this? I think it's pretty cool :)

Exit Calm - Exit Calm (Advance) 2010

01. You've Got It All Wrong 5:56
02. We're On Our Own 6:55
03. When You Realise 5:16
04. Hearts & Minds 6:56
05. Don't Look Down 5:11
06. Forgiveness 6:45
07. Reference 5:59
08. With Angels 5:17
09. Atone 5:52
10. Recovery 5:12
11. Serenity 5:04

QuoteA sonic and soulful masterpiece, this impressive debut showcases the
bands distinctive wall of immense and anthemic sound whilst
simultaneously introducing you to a band whose sincerity, presence and
originality serves to remind you what 'real' bands are all about.

Produced by Paddy Byrne (Unkle, The Hours) and mixed by renowned mixer
and remixer, Ulrich Schnauss the album features current single "Hearts
and Minds" alongside live favourites such as "We're On Our Own",
"Serenity", the cinematically beautiful "Reference" and psychedelic
ambition of "Recovery".

No stranger to travelling the length and breadth of Britain, Exit Calm
toured the UK last year supporting the likes of Echo and The Bunnymen,
The Charlatans, Modest Mouse and Soulsavers; gathering and expanding a
fervently loyal fan base along the way.

With heady guitars, ambient and effect laden layers, echoes of musical
heroes such as The Verve and Spiritualized are undeniable, yet Exit
Calm's delivery is incomparably unique and in a class of its own. This
is a band that once seen, leave no doubt in belief; coming alive on
stage and evoking an atmosphere of epic proportions. Exit Calm is sure
to be the greatest album you will hear this year.

The streets have gone dark. They've been dark for days. We board up the house. Hide upstairs and wait!
