Lavinia - There Is Light Between Us

01. Destroy Yourself
02. A Damning Confession
03. Fires
04. Windmills
05. Bone And Arrow

The band consists of current & former members of indie rock heavyweights such as Caspian, Eksi Ekso, The Burning Paris, On Fire, and the Fatal Flaw, but should never be confused as some sort of "side project". Bleak, dark, and unforgiving - Lavinia trudge through terrain that is much different than any of the members other projects. And while there is an underlying hope in each song - the album dwells in an unshakable depression. A feeling of isolation and loneliness further exposed by the heart-on-the-sleeve vocals of guitarist/vocalist Nate Shumaker (ex-Eksi Ekso, On Fire, The Burning Paris, Everdown), that brings to mind a combination of Red House Painter's Mark Kozelek and The Cure's Robert Smith.

New Laura song. Can't wait for their new album this year. 2011 is going to be a great year for music imo.

I am anxious about new This Will Destroy You. I am in love with Communion Blood and hope that the album will sound something like that - more like drone, collapsing powers, noisier yet epic at the same time. Plus I will release my own massive album which will blow away most of the post-rock listeners :P

BBfan

So apparently Long Distance Calling released a new album? Anyone know of this?

Check this out -

Meniscus - Absence of I

progressive/post-rock. Very very nice band.

black coffee

I imagined you would like this. The EP is out for a couple years now, and they've been working on a full length ever since. It might come out this year, I  hope so at least.

lostpilot

I hope really. This is some fine fine fine post-rock. So soulful, so metaphysical somehow :)

End of Science is nice. Not too mind blowing, but definitely interesting.

I WANT NEW VESSELS.  I listened to a couple of songs and I am rather surprised how good they became. It's like new Oceansize but in post-rock way. Very professional, nice song-writing. High hopes for the album.
And the leet thing was because your post count was 1337

Starz

Ok thank you

When Vessels leaks you'll be sure to know Darius

Me too man. I'm afraid they'll never top "a hundred times in every direction" though. That song is beyond brilliant.
