they were two different movies.  The first batman was trying to be dark true to the comic.  But still a bit cheezy, true to the TV show that most people associated batman with.  The new batman movies are not trying to be cheezy at all.  The two parts were just written differently

Batman '89 is just so inaccurate to the comics. Still an enjoyable film though.

Agreed.  Heath Ledger, imo, will be a better joker.  He was scary in the comics,  hell, he beat robin  to death with a fucking crowbar.

aaron eckhart is equally awesome as heath ledger in my book.
this movie has the perfect casting, with the exception of maggie gyllenhaal.

Hahahahaha. She's a good actress though...and from the clips we've seen of her in TDK, she doesn't look that bad. Kind of pretty if you ask me.
