since albumbase is down (at least for my internets) i have no idea where to get some new music besides this board here.

in the past i used soulseek but direct downloads from rapidshare etc are just so superior to that so guys i need some help

Zevaka

torrents
more than 50% internet traffic all over the world is transfered via p2p,  btw
if u need http sites, try forum.funkysouls.com, mediaportal.ru, www.google.com (works the best so far)
But i really have no clue what http sites are popular now. I use torrents only

Nailec

ok thx i am familiar with torrent from the past.

uhm am i supposed to "seed" stuff or is leeching only ok?

i am asking coz people how upload stuff could be jailed here in germany

yeah, some german guy said it but i believe it's illegal only if u're using GERMAN trackers. well, it's not legal anyway, but he said german police and anti-piracy organisations don't pay much attention to forreign-torrent-sites-users.

If you use torrent-site where registration is required, then you must sed (upload) in order to be able to leech stuff
The best torrent-trackers now are waffles.fm, what.cd, stmusic.org.... they are all invite-only private sites

http://tuchinsky.blogspot.com/ (jazz/eletronica)
http://jasonsfreemusic.blogspot.com/ (rock/metal)

Hav'nt used these for a while but they should still work.Just a blog directory.

Only real issue is most of them use rapidshare which cuts you off after an album or two unless your a member.

I've been using Soulseek for years - but kind of like the pre-register torrent sites (like DimeADozen.org, etc. where you have to seed and keep a certain ratio otherwise you have to donate a small amount of $ to continue using), with Soulseek you need to be sharing files with others otherwise you're liable to get 'banned' from the person you're dl/ing from and have to try someone else... but as long as you have files to share, I've usually been able to find what I'm looking for - Full albums... bootlegs and live recordings can be kinda tricky, just depends on who has 'em and if they stay/get online enough.

As for torrents, I use uTorrent and you can search for and leech (d/l) albums (among other things) without having to re-seed - look around www.isohunt.com , www.btjunkie.org , www.thepiratebay.org , etc. (You must use a BitTorrent client to download torrents available)

Just thought I'd throw in my 2¢

i really don't like soulseek. too much crap can be found there: transcode, bad tagged shit,  low bitrates, missing tracks... Crap.

st3v3n_g

Just speaking from personal experience Zevaka, if you know what you're what you're looking for music wise and details (bitrate info, proper tags, etc.) I haven't had too many problems in the past.

well. your english is rather mysterious or i'm too tired,  i haven't got the whole idea of your last post.
anyway, i'm bittorrent fan, speeds there are much greater than in slsk, and quality is much, much higher. Yes, i'm not ta;lking about TPB, i'm talking about good music torrent-sites
