2. ETID - The Big Dirty
3. NIN - Year Zero
4. Machine Head - The Blackening

Not a bad year at all, I noticed quality rather than quantity. I think 2008 will be huge, perhaps a bit more fertile? - Metallica, Deftones, GlassJAw, etc...

Alvar

yakuza - transmutations
DEP - ire works
god is an astronaut - far from refuge
the ocean collective - precambrian
tomahawk - anonymous
poison the well - versions
will haven - hierophant

oh yes, it was a good year.

Starz

The Fair To Midland album is very good, I still prefer Inter.Funda.Stifle though...

Albums this year that stood out for me:

not sure about:

biggest disappointment:
jimmy eat world - chase this light
radiohead - in rainbows (still in top10)
oceansize - frames

Jacob

I agree that Oceansize's Frames was a big disappointment. it's not that it's a bad album, but personally I thought that Efloresce had its faults. but with Everyone Into Position they took a great leap in the right direction. with Frames they just took a huge step back though.

like holy shit i liked the music that came out this year huh.  there's probably some i'm forgetting as well.  there's a lot on my list that i can't fuckin believe i haven't seen anyone mention yet.
