I view Slipknot and Mudvayne as this... at least from my perspective and experience with people.

They were the bridge that helped a lot of people discover and like death metal.

I agree, but Vol 3 was awesome.
So were The End of All Things To Come and Lost and Found.

I always liked L.D. 50 and Slipknot's first one, whatever it was called. Haven't listened to them in ages.

Side note, not really bashing a band per say but a movement. But...

What the fuck is up with all these wannabe Mumford and Son's wannabes recently? Don't get me wrong, I like the stuff but damn... there's SO many kids trying to cash in on it now around my parts. It's silly. Like OMGz I got an acoustic geetar I can do thats.

Lamesauce.

Yeah Mumford and Sons sounds pretty terrible to me :P

And the first Slipknot album was self titled.

I dunno, I like those albums too.. But Vol 3 was kinda like WP for Deftones. It was a real transformation of sound.

no, it was mate.feed.kill.repeat. but I'm sure he/she was referring to S/T.

I fucking hate Seether and was forced to listen to them for over 2 hours at work. I can't believe I didn't fucking stab anybody.

and yeah fuck mumford and sons too they suck.

The Beatles are great.  Not because of their slew of highly poppy hits but because of the talent and creativity they showed in many of their other songs.

I don't care for:

The Tragically Hip
The Rolling Stones
Radiohead
U2
Pink Floyd
Dave Matthews Band
AC/DC
Guns N Roses
Nine Inch Nails
Nirvana

etc. etc.

Remove pink Floyd, Nirvana, and NiN, and we got a deal. I also like a few Radiohead songs..

OUCH... one of my favorite bands is on there... Radiohead is phenominal. i'd flip the bird to bands like Nickelback (obviously), AFI, Fall Out Boy, Black Veil Brides (GOD KILL IT WITH ALL THE FIRE), BOTDF, Meshuggah, Kiss, Seether, all those "metalcore bands" (TDWP, ETF, BMTH...), Slipknot. I'll add more when I can think of em. Bands that I don't care for but will take over mainstream crap are bands like Opeth, Grateful Dead, The Rolling Stones, Marilyn Manson (who comes off as a bit of a poser)... among others.

bright lights, big city

we're bashing Radiohead and Meshuggah now on here?

it's been real, ya'll.
