a little adrenaline-like rapping wouldn't be bad, i guess.

no, i think that deftones era is behind us now.

dont get me wrong chino can do some serious rapping, but i just don't think it'd be right for them now.

i'd love for them to prove me wrong though.

I mainly listen to hip hop and when i hear Chino rap it kinda sucks imo like the lyrics from back to school. It sounds cool on some songs but I think he should stick to moaning and screaming.

Yes, I agree. Time has passed.  Anyway the man has done some cool raps. For example, that weird "rap?" he did in lotion.

maybe he'll one day part ways with Deftones and go gangsta, his debut album: Ghetto Moreno

I like almost all their (officially released) stuff, but my opinion, nah... I'm more into songs like 'Hexagram', 'When Girls Telephone Boys,' but I do like his mellow style in songs like 'Digital Bath' and 'Riviere' too

Yeah, same here

Mixing hip-hop with metal or rock doesn't seem so demonic as it did back in '99 '00 '01. As long as it's done well, in a tasteful and meaningful way... They had one demo for SNW, mostly beats, and I though 'twas quite good... if they did that I wouldn't mind.

that'd be the ultimate gay, haha. I'd rather have a song where he does his "rap" over the verses or the chorus. but a song with normal singing and a rap break down would sound like nu-metal silliness.

4-5 years ago I would. not now. it'd just feel silly. I like their new aggressive edge better. and the mellow stuff is as good as they get imo.
