He was a bull dog.  They sent him out as the assassin.  Just because you aren't used to seeing people not kissing Obama's ass doesn't make them a dick.  But which parts of his speech did you find laughable?

I was pretty impressed with Palins speech too.  It wasn't just me either.  The democrats I was working with were even very impressed ( 3 black democrats since race seems to matter so much in this election)

bright lights, big city

is race really that much of an issue? actually, it probably is to half of America.
but anyway i just thought that some of what Giuliani was either a complete fabrication and exaggeration of something Biden or Obama said. (off the top of my head, i remember multiple referrals to Obama wanting to raise everyone's taxes, when in reality they both have fairly similar plans for taxes)

actually i will agree with you on Palin. she didn't seem too bad, it was a good first impression, but then again i still don't know that much about her.

Yes, race is a big issue.  Need proof?  Answer me this.  Would Obama have even made it to the primary if he was not black?  Can you honestly tell me that a white man with his credentials would be candidate of his party?  I think it is ridiculous that race matters so much to people in 2008.  and I dont think that this parade has progressed America at all.  Calling this a "huge step" for America is bull shit.  It would be a huge step if a black man reached this point without anyone bringing up the fact that he was black.  that is progression.  But we are the products of Affirmative Action.  It is ok to be racist as long as it works in the favor of minorities.  Makes perfect sense to me.

Can you honestly tell me that you think Obama's and McCains tax plans are similar?  Obama is a socialist.  McCain is a Federalist-Capitalist.  Obama is calling for the largest tax increase since anyone can remember.  He is hiding it under the fact that he is not taxing the middle and lower class directly.  But tell me sir, if you tax businesses and corporations, are you still not taxing the middle and lower class?  Those businesses and corporations will still have to pay their employees.  Its not like the price of production is going to go down either.  Meaning that chances are they will have to raise prices on their products to maintain....so not only will big business be paying taxes out the ass, but the middle and lower class will be paying to make up for their loss.  OHHH, now I understand where Obama is going to get all the money for his "universal health care" and other social programs.  He is going to drastically raise taxes!

I cant stand when people criticize Republicans for looking out for the top 1% of the country and giving them breaks ( not syaing this is you) It goes to show that either they have no idea about anything to do with economics.  Or they are trying to manipulate their audience.  Because anyone with a basic knowledge of economics can figure out that if you ensure that the instillation who provide employment to your citizens have money and are successful, it is a good thing for your citizens and economy.  If you drive them into the ground with taxes, it is not good for anybody.  (oh wait, didn't Obama criticize the Republicans for giving tax breaks to cooporations?  hmmmmm that means either he is a moron and need to take an economics class.  Or he is lying right to your face to try to manipulate you.  What a breath of fresh air, this is truly change)
This is why democrats have such a hard time getting re-elected.  they talk a huge game about how everyone is going to have more food on their plate.  Then when the country gets smothered in taxes to pay for other peoples food, and other people plates.  they get fucking sick of it and will abandon their party to vote in the party who believes in smaller government so that they (the people) can get some relief from all the taxing.

long story short, Obamas tax plan is wack.  But only to people who use money.

i thought palins speech really said a whole lot of nothing, just GOP rhetoric.

and to throw my two cents in, the last few fiscal messes our country has experienced have come because of republican overspending

I remember back in the day when Clinton was prez...I got gas for .99 a gallon.

And you talk about how Obama would tax businesses and stuff....hasn't the Republican party been doing that as awell? I mean... $6 for a gallon of milk? I would much rather get ass raped by a tax hiking democrat that a tax hiking republican.

Absolutely GOP rhetoric.  She is psyching the fuck out of the conservative base.  It is McCain's ticket to the white house.  She served her purpose well

And I see what you are saying out "Republican overspending" and I agree with you, with one minor change.  It was "Bush administration overspending"  After all, one of the fundamental differences between democrats and republicans ( if it still even matters to people to know why they belong to their party) is that Republicans believe in less government spending.  This is why men like Ron Paul are republicans.  the Bush administration just happened to go completely rogue and fucking do whatever the fuck they wanted.  They were not a Republican administration by definition.

Of course, the democrat majority congress didn't do shit to stop them either.  I mean, if we are pointing fingers that is.

yeah but that's pretty irrelevant to today.  That really didn't have anything to do with the economy or overspending.  Supply and Demand.  We really cant control how much these ass holes are going to charge us.  Not to mention that our  Middle Eastern friends have even admitted to purposely driving up the price of oil to make up for better fuel efficiency in modern automobiles.

and I think that really has more to do with the high prices of gas ( transportation of the milk ) and inflation ( the farmer has to charge more because his dollar is worth less ) Not to mention that farmers are getting ass rapped left and right in this country.  So they have to charge more to make ends meat.

I haven't really ever researched it , because I live in japan and shop at the military PX so my shit is pretty cheap.  But I don't think the rise in food prices was due to taxing.

Republicans believe in helping the people through providing a strong economy through capitalism.  They provide the market, you work in it and prosper.  Not , you dont do shit but still get food and medical care for it.  Governments have an obligation to look after their citizens.  their poor and hungry and struggling citizens.  Its called a social contract ( I know, huge oversimplification) .  However, I ( Trey Gregory ) do no have an obligation to give my money to the hungry and poor.  now maybe I will give out of my own pocket because I am a nice guy and I have morals.  But it is not the governments job to take it from me, and give it to them.  I would rather live in a strong prosperous market ( IE the long term ) than live in a country of hand outs ( IE the short term)

Need proof that it works?  check out the 80s, they were way more prosperous than 92-2000.  Go ahead and google to find out who was president back then.

Like I said, George W. was not a republican president.  He had his own agenda.  But the whole reason that he got elected was because people voted based on party affiliation and refused to research the real facts.  He won votes in small town america because he made them feel like he was one of them, not because he was the best man for the job.  Is this sounding familiar?  Lets not make the same mistake AGAIN America, do the fucking research this time.

true true, but i think you also have to include reagan and the first bush as well. clinton was no saint, but at least he balanced the budget. and i doubt congress coudl stop a dust bunny imo
