Hello, my name is Jason, and I love the Deftones.  I'm glad to be here with so many fellow Deftones fans.  I figured it would be more appropriate to post three poems under one heading, as opposed to three seperate ones.  Anyways, if anyone has time, I would love feedback.

1) Venomous Counterfeit Angels

Daily homicide led to my broken heart suicide
Tortured nights, but no one could see how I felt inside
With my intestines wrapped around your heart, I just couldn't digest your loss
So like a freshly buried corpse-
I began to waste away

Cause you told me goodnight, then stabbed me in the back
You told me goodnight, then stabbed me in the back

I've loved counterfeit angels
And had my intestines replaced with snakes
Painful slithering memories keep me trapped, in your barbwire embrace

Cause you told me goodnight, then stabbed me in the back
You told me goodnight, then stabbed me in the back

You created all the venomous demons I can't exorcise

2) Kisses Indicate

I can leave the place where time stops
Just outside reality
I can leave the place where time stops
Material paradise vanishes

Censored screams whispered
They're spectacular with the vernacular of confusion
Kisses indicate the illusion
There's correlations between your lacerations

Watch the sunrise
And fall asleep in your arms
Coffee kisses at sunset
And wake me from my dreams

Censored screams whispered
They're spectacular with the vernacular of confusion
Kisses indicate the illusion
There's correlations between your lacerations

3) Jade Green Eyes

A carnal pilgrimage
To the kingdom of pleasure
Where morals disappear
Beneath vanity and lust

Jade green eyes
And serpent like thighs
Pulling me in-
Deeper and deeper
Pulling me down-
Into the flames

Angels cry in sorrow-
As our souls descend to the second level
Among demons and lost souls
I taste your cherry red lips
And we make love

Angels shed tears-
For those lost to sins of the flesh
Angels shed tears-
For those condemned, for crawling from bed to bed
For slithering from lover to lover

Angels wept-
But in the fiery passion of your kiss
I've realized that devils are more fun

Carpe Diem

Part 1 (Poison Memories, and a Lonely Suicide)

As you stand there and speak, I slowly drift away
Poisoned by the memories of yesterday
Flashbacks play like a broken record in my mind
Cause have you ever felt-
Like your emotions were wrapped in barbwire?
Confused, trapped, and lonely
You open the cupboard door
And remove the long silver knife

Contemplating a million worries at once
The knife is trembling in your dead hand
Screaming out in silence, you desperately look around for comfort
But you find nothing-
No one knows you're there, slipping through the circles of hell
Alone and falling-
Despair is a cruel mistress

In a state of disbelief, you raise the knife to your throat
And wonder-
"Is this really what my life has become"?
Tensing your muscles, and tightening your grip, you're ready to end it
End it, and escape-
All the pain, all the lies, all the loneliness

Part 2 (Guardian Angels, and a Moment of Truth)

Suddenly, in a moment of truth
Your life flashes before your eyes
And some intense and bittersweet emotion
Rushes through your veins

Then-
As if your guardian angels finally arrived
You pull the knife away from your throat

But after a short-lived feeling of serenity
The aftermath hits you like a ton of bricks
The weight of confusion is crushing
"Was I really just about to slit my throat"?

Part 3 (Forgotten Flowers, Underneath the Snow)

As you begin the painful process of reflection
It becomes evident, that whatever guardian angels you had
Have since departed

Cold, lonely, and desperate
You try to find some silver lining
Some justification or rational
But there's nothing

Your soul has withered
Like forgotten flowers
Under the winter snow

And your heart turns bitter
Like someone left out in the cold
Who can only watch the warm fireplace
From outside the window

Part 4 (Cherry Red Roses, After a Long Winter)

Years have passed since those dark times in my life
And after much introspection and soul searching

I've realized that loneliness and despair
Can melt away, like snow and ice
And that happiness and serenity can blossom
Like cherry red roses, after a long winter

I've learned that love and friendship
Are what's truly important
And I no longer envy the warmth of the fireplace
From outside the window

In my soul, I used to contemplate suicide
But now I realize that life is a precious gift

In my soul, I used to find confusion
But now I realize the secret to life...

Crimes of Passion

Part 1

The interrogation room was dark and gloomy
The air was stale, and smelled of mold and mildew
No windows, and an old wooden door, that creaked when it opened
To me, it felt like an ancient tomb
A tomb where the darkest secrets are buried

The sound of the door, and the detective's voice, broke my trance
"Good morning Mrs. Lewis, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting"
"I'm going to need you to tell me what happened last night"
As he sat down, and straightened his tie, I smiled
And then I began to speak ...

Part 2

"His Judas Kiss made me orgasm"
As we fucked on the Ides of March
I wrapped my legs around his back, pulling him in closer
As I moaned in pleasure, he said "I love you"
I knew he was a liar
Oh, sweet lips that lie

Insincere words and empty promises
I had carelessly given my heart away
I remember the first day I learned of his sins

It was a warm spring afternoon
And I was working on a scrapbook in the kitchen
The cool spring breeze danced through the open windows
And filled the kitchen with a sense of serenity

When I came to the pictures of my honeymoon with Todd
I was filled with a sense of passion
As my memories flashed back to those romantic Caribbean Nights
When we made love on that deserted beach
All alone, and under the stars-
He told me I was his "one and only"

My flashback was broken by the ringing of the telephone
Too relaxed to get up, I decided to let the machine get it

As the words came in over the answering machine
I felt like my heart was being carved out of my chest
Each word like another painful incision

"Hey Todd, this is Melanie"-
"Just calling to say I can't get over last night".
"Listen; meet me next Friday at the Cesar's Palace Hotel- room sixty-six.  At six o'clock".
"They'll be champagne on ice"
"And I'll be wearing the outfit you like"
"See you then lover boy"

When the message finally ended-
I felt like my heart had been completely carved out of my chest
And then smashed into a thousand little pieces of sorrow

Heartbroken and betrayed
I cried
And cried until I was dehydrated

It was then-
That the thirst for revenge first entered my soul
My love slowly mutated into a deformed hatred
As I began to formulate a wicked plan

Part 3

"Give it to me Todd"
"Give it to me baby"
I moaned

As I continued to wrap my legs around his back, pulling him in closer
I could see the overwhelming ecstasy in his eyes

At the height of sexual intercourse
A man is blind to everything but pleasure
So he never saw it coming
When I slid the knife out
From beneath the sheets

The knife smoothly pierced his back
A sweet mix of surprise, pleasure, and pain
I could see the confusion and terror in his eyes
As he desperately gasped for air

Mockingly, I said, "I love you too sweetheart"
Angered by my sarcasm
He mustered one last bit of strength
And cursed me

"Bitch"!
"Bitch you'll fucking burn in hell for this"

I grabbed the knife-
Still sticking out of his back
And twisted

Mocking him one last time
I said

"Oh, lover boy"
"Don't you know"-
"That hell has no fury like a woman scorned"?

With that, I pulled the knife from his back
And kicked his body to the floor

As I licked the blood off the knife
I watched his body cautiously-
Half-expecting him to pop back up
Like the killer at the end of a scary movie

But there was nothing
His body lay lifeless on the floor
He was gone

The last grain of sand had fallen from his hourglass
And he now slept in the cold arms of the reaper

Part 4

"Umm..."
"Is that all"?
The detective asked, looking rather puzzled
"Yes, that's all" I replied, as a devilish grin crept across my face

"Mrs. Lewis, you understand that since you waived your Miranda Rights"
"Everything you just told me is admissible in court"?
"Now, if you tell me what you did with the body"
"I'll ask the District Attorney for leniency"

"Fine" I replied calmly
"Go to the Cesar's Palace Hotel"
"Room 66"
"You'll find the bodies there"

"Bodies"? The detective replied
Again looking puzzled

"Yes bodies"
"You'll find the bodies there"

Not wanting to waste anymore time
The detective and a team of police
Rushed to Cesar's Palace Hotel

In Room 66
They found the bodies of Todd
And his lover Melanie

Shedding Skin

Her green eyes are focused
Like a coiled rattlesnake
Ready to strike its prey

Her red lips are hungry
Like an ancient vampire
Who's slept for centuries
And awakes to hunt once more

Her purple tongue -
Is strangely sweet and seductive
Flickering in and out, with malevolence
But I don't care

Although each kiss brings me closer to the reaper
And each embrace brings my soul closer to hell
I don't care

Because being with her
Is like shedding skin
Reincarnated by lust
And born again

Outside of heaven's gates
Our hearts are discarded like fallen angels
Tossed aside and left to rot
Like morals when they're inconvenient

Shedding Skin (Broken Vows Version)

Her green eyes are focused
Like a coiled rattlesnake
Ready to strike its prey

Her red lips are hungry

And awakes to hunt once more

Her purple tongue
Is strangely sweet and seductive
Flickering in and out, with malevolence
But I don't care

Although each venomous kiss
Brings me closer to the reaper
And each sinful embrace
Brings my soul closer to hell
I don't care

Because being with her
Is like shedding skin
Reincarnated by lust
And born again

Outside of heaven's gates
Our hearts are carelessly discarded
Like broken wedding vows
Our souls tossed aside to rot
Like morals when they're inconvenient

It is one of my favorite writing tools.  Thanks for the feedback, and I hope all is well-

wither-I

yeah. its pretty good. but try not using "like" so often, as it will take away from your writing.

Sinister Aristocrats

At what point do capitalism and corruption intersect?
At what point do free markets and exploitation become synonymous?

Sinister aristocrats
Build luxurious castles, and extravagant kingdoms
Upon the backs of broken and bleeding workers
Who they pretend to care about

Prosperity doesn't trickle down
It accumulates at the top
Misery doesn't accumulate at the top
It floods down, washing away hopes and dreams

Corrupt politicians are mercenaries for Corporate America
Paid to assassinate any form of regulation
That stand in the way of unbridled greed
Through the economic rape of common men and women

Sinister aristocrats are hungry wolves in sheep's clothing
Disguised they speak of opportunity and prosperity
Secretly they salivate at the mouth
Longing to sink their greedy teeth
Into unsuspecting flesh
And taste the profit

At what point will we finally wake up?
At what point will we finally stand united against the wolves?

jabble524

Heavenly Hypocrisy

To deny someone love is a cruel thing
But in a selfish quest for eternal salvation
Fragile souls have to keep their morals straight
To avoid the wrath of a loving god

So with heavenly hypocrisy
They carve hearts out of chests
And leave them to decay
On the beaches of mortal sin

Beaches where the sand is stained red
And crimson colored waves gently kiss the shore
Where vultures pick at the remains of shattered romance
And the sour fragrance of broken dreams fills the air

Far away-
From shattered romance and broken dreams
Fragile souls bathe in heaven's radiance
Where they drink fine wine, and dance the night away

Far away-
From the pain and suffering caused by discrimination
Fragile souls listen to a self – righteous man
As he makes a toast, to equality

jabble524

Thirteen Tigers

Walk up to the gate in the ancient wilderness
Seven cobras guard the sacred waterfall
Cross the wooden bridge to the mystic portal
Thirteen tigers guard the passage between realms

Step through the sands of time, to another life
See the threads of destiny, which connect your life
See the threads of fate, which connect us all
See how love can rise like the phoenix
From the ashes of violence and war

Journey through a kingdom of hypocrisy
Past the aristocracy, and the corrupt elegance
Past the theocracy, and the soothing eloquence

Arrive in a town of mysterious lunacy
Where no one has a shadow, or reflection
Where women dance naked, and cry redemption

When the final grain of sand falls from the hourglass
The reaper will laugh at your mea culpa
And your deathbed epiphany, to finally seize the day
For even the reaper cannot stop time
From eventually devouring us all

Mortality is melting away
Like a careless vampire
Who gets caught in the sunrise

The sorcerer is laughing
Cause the sky is falling
Memento Mori
A new day is calling

jabble524

1) Kiss the Rattlesnake

The perilous path to paradise
Ominous omens in disguise
I left my soul at sunrise
On the beaches to be sacrificed

Orchestrated oblivion
Choreographed chaos

A ravenous rendezvous
Of insatiable lust
Kiss the rattlesnake
And poison your trust

Orchestrated oblivion
Choreographed chaos

The strongest aphrodisiac is curiosity
When the mystery is solved
The sweetest ambrosia loses its flavor
And passion slowly withers

2) Midnight Lovers

Two midnight lovers by the lake
The moonlight dances across the crystal water
I savor the taste from your luscious lips
And softly caress your beautiful hips
Warm velvet skin moves across me

Forever seems so far away
While lying in your lover's arms

My heart is an elegant cathedral
Exquisite designs of romance
Decorate the walls and the ceiling
Down the hallway, I hear angelic voices
Singing of priceless love

Your Judas Kiss was soft and tender
Betrayed by a seductive Aquarius
With lips blood red and nefarious
Pain and punishment are vicarious

My heart is a brothel
A revolving door of lost souls
Foreign lips and a stranger's hips
Cold scaly skin moves across me

Whether in celestial spheres
Or circles of the inferno
The concept of forever
Has become crystal clear
Outside of your arms

jabble524

Strange Bedfellows

You trusted me with your heart
And I smashed it to pieces
You wanted a soul mate
And I wanted to play Casanova

I could break a thousand hearts
And still not come close
To the pain I caused you
When I stabbed you in the back

I left you broken and bleeding
In a desolate wasteland of despair
Cold and lonely, I watched you shiver
As the love faded from your eyes

Rationalization is the antidote to a guilty conscience
So as I found carnal delights and sweet ecstasy
Between the sheets with strangers
I told myself, all is fair in love and war

But time and karma are strange bedfellows
And the charm and seduction
Of my cult of personality
Began to wither and fade

On warm summer nights, I lay beneath the sheets
My lover asleep beside me
As the moonlight dances through the bedroom window
I know why I'm cursed to shiver

I could offer a half-hearted mea culpa
Or simply the truth
That vanity is almost irresistible
Once you've had a taste

jabble524

Atrophy to Ashes

At first we could barely keep our hands off each other
But time is a slow venom
That causes romance to atrophy
Now we can barely stand to touch each other

I live a secret life
Like a fire chief
Who moonlights as an arsonist
Fiery desires replace complacent kisses

You burn in my selfish flames
But refuse to admit we've grown apart
Like Siamese twins
Who deny they've been separated

As I walk by the charred remains
Of a once vibrant romance
I see you desperately trying
To capture all the scattered ashes
As they blow in the wind

In a moment of clarity
I realize why love and reason
Are enemies

jabble524

Occult of Personality

I take the path of excess
To the palace of wisdom
Redemption is worthless
Beauty and fulfillment of the senses are priceless

I explore every vice
And indulge in deadly sins
To awaken my senses
And escape the soul's prison

Subconscious desires rise to the surface
Instinct replaces what I've been taught
Morality is relative
Ambition is blind

Chaos is strangely intriguing
Like the chance to sleep with an ex lover
One more time

I left you long ago
Because your kisses lost their flavor

Now I hear the serpent laughing
As I frantically stab my hideous portrait
My past sins punish me with age

Once I'm wretched and withered
The serpent smiles
And then slithers away

jabble524

The Poisonous Tree

The reaper leaves us
A trail of common sense
That leads to the grave

Divorced from reason
I nail my soul, to the devil's altar
In shadows and lust

Your lips on my skin
Are clever catalysts for chaos
Sweet ecstasy, until the sunrise betrays us

In the cold light of day
Happiness and pleasure
Are seldom synonymous

Denial is the architect of illusion
I can only look in the mirror
When I manipulate my reflection
