I'd like to inform you about a band from my neck of the woods, called Kvelertak (translation: chokehold).

they call their music "Necro'n'roll", and it's basically a mix between elements from black metal and pop rock.
Here's a single from their upcoming debut album, the track is called Mjød.

Gotta bumb this thread because I still havent checked out all the stuff mentioned in it. Im ashamed to say that I still havent even checked out the 5 recommendations by firelyry from back in May... Theres probably other stuff I havent checked either, so maybe my motivation to check them will come back if I see this thread every day on the front page.

Probably its just the Album Weeks bringing so much stuff weekly that I cant get myself to check out anything else. Does anyone else feel exhausted with all the new stuff coming from all directions? Im still loving it though :)

Oh, and Im saving my next new album recommendations for my week of the Album Week by the way  ;) Just checked that I didnt recommend any of them in this thread either. Haha, actually noticed that I've only recommended like 5 albums during this whole thread! Strangeeeee.

bright lights, big city

they're pretty good. i remember seeing them on those old epitaph punk-o-rama compilations like 10 years ago.

i figure that since i don't have 5 new artists for the album of the week thread, i would just throw this one out there. i came across this artist called Bersarin Quartett a few days ago, even though his album is from 2008. really good ambient/down-tempo.

also might as well throw Hurts in there as well (although Starz was probably the one who I saw talk about them first). their debut is in the itleaked thread, they are really fucking good. everyone should check them out. http://www.myspace.com/ithurts

Washed Out is dope.  Pretty popular and not really a band...just one dude from Georgia

Here's my two cents:  Avec is a good female-fronted indie/punk band from Baltimore.  To my knowledge, they have 2 full length albums, "Lines" and "When I Breathe I Fall Asleep," and a self-titled EP.  Blackmail is a rock band from Germany.  All their albums are good.

I have his first 'EP' I think but it doesn't include the song You and I. Do you know if it's been released at all as a single or something?

Yea, pretty sure it was just released as a single...  I got it from Pitchfork a while back.  Great track tho!  He also has some remixes with Small Black...
