"You Remiss" (for Charly)

I.
Whence came you pilgrim?
You, soft white conqueror,
from nether the horizon,
to overthrow my capital pump, and reign exogenous within me!
Raveged swiftly, I heal a new Empire State,
and proud.

And as I recur,
in the gasp of fate falling native to my niche,
there is no one else around,
all chance of insurrection is trounced,
with no such axe.
The flood is everywhere behind me.

Bade unto me, -all those richest of words tongued,
and the cloying dreams, we spilled into each other's hands,
and wiped again, clean,
on the blankets we laid hastily to the ground,
for our candy picnics!

Kept busy indulging,
we did not see the kingdom starve.

Just to seep deeply,
and dive if you would have preferred!
-Into the lost autumn of your belly and all,
specked in powdered lime,
preserving the coming fall!

II.
What cause of you, traitor?
You, pale thin deserter.
Pulling the sea back over your face,
you flee in a dive.

You, ancient glacial filth,
-cannot be scourged clean.
You, a wetted cinder,
-will only dry as a dirtied diamond.

And if i knew, I would have never given to.
If given, I take for granted.
In dispose, it was all I could afford.

Still, the wrench there in my gut;
-has you born again in every sudden remembrance,
-to every new pass of "our" locale park,
-to every haplessly awaited supper...
Where once, We! -in our high dinning thrones of down!
Gladly ate each other's hearts!

CAUSE WRITING IS MEANT TO BE READ

of course writing is meant to be read.
though, as ATDI states - "I Write to Remember". actually this one fits more for me.
I write really much, but everything in Lithuanian - prose. And I think I do mostly write for myself, to express my thoughts and feelings, to play with the style of the writing, and generally to remember.
