Hello,

nice idea Variable.
But you're missing one big point: Your ideas are limited to U.S domestic ecconomy only. But we live in a globalized and the U.S.A are dealing with many foreign countries. (U.S banks to foreign banks, U.S government to foreign government) .
Take in concern that the U.S.A are highly in debt to asian states and the Gulf states. These "thingies" are called government securities/stocks. If you abate all debts in domestic U.S, their will be no equivalent to the masses of U.S government securities in theses countries. So all this owners of U.S stocks will sell this securities immediately, because the became an "empty bubble". This means U.S banks and government had to pay back high amounts to foreigners. So no more money for loans and U.S.A could file in for bankruptcy ;D.

its probablly a matter of believe. i am just surprised that just now (where everyone asks for more political intervention in the financial system (even the more liberal partys here in germany)) there is a small group that wants the contrary of that. every analysis of the financial crisis that i read, points out, that the system allowed our bankers too much freedom.

i just dont understand the radical-libertarion position. while i see how more jobs could be created i dont see how the system would help the poors and minorities at all. i just dont believe in so much morality of human beings. every aspect of society is just dependent from money and voluntary work. where neither is available, its misfortune for the subject.

socialized health care works in germany. i can be pretty sure to get medical aid whenever i need it because a pay a monthly value for my assurance. being in this insurance is a duty for every german citizen. this means u also pay if you dont need any medical aid at all. and i think the libertarian position just isnt able to understand this kind of solidarity and created equality. but this system makes me feel comfortable. when i am in a coma, i can be sure that my insurance pays for it for example. we just have to pay something for some pills our doctor recommends us to take. (here we are free to decide if we buy the branded product or probablly a cheaper version).
Ron Paul asks for a financial system with less taxes where everyone has more money on their bank account. i think that just a single disease could make you poor or you probablly dont have any money to see a docotr at all.

-if youre jobless in germany, you get a (pretty small) unemployement aid
-if you want to study but dont have rich parents, you get money from the governmant
-if get disabled, you get money for your whole live because you arent able to work anymore
-culturual projects are getting money by the government to big parts
-you dont pay fo your school-education (i think you dont have to pay either in the usa)

all those social systems are financed through several taxes. they give us great securities here in germany that i wont miss. nothing is perfect of course but i feel that this is a fair system.

oh btw:

i hope i pointed out that i am not able to decide what the better system really is. i just try to compare personal experiences. so im not saying that youre wrong. that just doubt a radical libertarism as well as i would doubt a radical socialism.

another btw: i would like if this community starts to listen to and argue with other dudes than this Ron Paul.
i think i opposed to him in another thread here because of his dangerous attitude to foreign affairs (everyone for himself). the global peace-movement has this same problem. they totally blame war but at the same time this makes them blind and  incapable of action to murdering and genocide in other countries. Paul and the peace movement just have different motivations for their views.
