In another interview, Chino said:

"The songs are definitely weird, which is a breath of fresh air to me. I haven't been playing guitar on these new songs so Steph has taken up the helm and that's worked out really well. He's been very creative has been writing very weird, melodic stuff. That's great because I want the album to be as weird as we can possibly make it without completely alienating people. If I had to compare it to any of our records, then I think it probably reminds me of White Pony the most.
Now I see that not necessary what Chino says is the complete true. If he said he said he has not been playing guitar, means that he even played bass. And, if we see, Smile has 2 guitars, so it is possibly Chi playing the 2nd guitar and Chino the bass. Now that I read it, it might have been his tribute, Chino playing bass on Smile in tribute to Chi.
But hey... Those are just suppositions, from what I've been seen during all the Eros process...

Yes yes, Deftones, yes yes, heavy metal, yes yes, nü metal, yes yes, fucking queer, yes yes...

On voit que tu n'as pas l'habitude de ce genre de situation. ;)

Tu es dans la description, ceci dit. Merci pour le rip.

Yup
Merci le belge !

By the way, I can't source this because I just don't remember where I got the info, but I'm pretty confident this song wasn't supposed to make it to Eros.

It's a shame, it sounds a lot like smile.

And Ves, I don't care if you take my rip, re-upload it (without quoting me) but at least say thanks. C'est la moindre des choses.
Sounds nothing like Smile in my opinion. Also really hope the song is on the album and gets released sometime.

I mean, there is similarities with the high guitar notes.

Freedomsoldier17

thank you very much to the uploaders

as for the song it's pretty good, it's heavier but doesn't take away from the relaxed mellow vibe

deftoneseba

Thanks for this video. I'm really loving it.

it's a cool bit of music bit after hearing more of it I'm really curious as to how Chino sang over it

deftones86

I always wondered where that intro was going when they were releasing those in studio clips

DeftonesNZ

Yeah can't say i expected the melodic sort of riff, I like it but I thought it would be more like a simple chord thing it's pretty cool to hear Steph mix it up a bit some of that has an Adam Jones type feel aswell with ringing sound.

I've seen you guys sometimes say that you hope they'll release Eros and donate the money to Chi's family. Do you think their record label would allow that? I mean, when Chino released Smile, they took it down very quickly, didn't they? It seems like they wouldn't allow them to do that. But I guess they could release it when they're not with a record label or when they're done making music, and they could do it that way.

deftones86

I think we'll just get parts of it over the years

Each band member would make money off the album if officially released. They could donate that to Chi's family and it's certainly possible, but the record label's cut would be up to the label. I wouldn't hold my breath on that though.

I am really enjoying this track, it gives me more hope for Eros (if it ever comes out). I kind of always suspected Eros was more hype than anything and if it ever made it out it wouldn't meet expectations but maybe I was just being pessimistic.

CHI is still attached to that album on contractual and legal terms so would the royalties and some proceeds from the sales not go to him?

From what you've heard how do you think this album sounds/will sound? To me, and I've only heard the rehearsal clip, it sounds like S/T with more variety and inspired songwriting and SNW with atmosphere. It would likely be heavier than their newer stuff but maybe not as heavy as the really early stuff. So pretty balanced maybe?

I hadn't heard Melanie and I forgot Smile was an Eros song. I discovered the band in 2009 so Eros stuff predates me.

Nothing is official but that's what we're working with. It's very likely that none of the eros tracks will be on the new album.
