Quote from: DanksalotI've got a friend, Drew Foppe, who is the guitar tech for Stephen Carpenter (Deftones guitar player). He was mentioned in the March Guitar World Magazine article about Stephen's rig. He said that he is building a brand new guitar rig for Stephen, and selling the old rig intact. Gear AND settings for each Deftones song included. Sold all together, no parting out pieces.

There will be a website up in the next few weeks with more details. I'll update this thread when I get a url.

Peace,
Danksalot

I would love a guitar at least. I'll have to get it from some rich guy acroos the globe though who doesn't have half the passion for Carpenter as most of us here do, lol
Pushing you back but still you ain't goooooooooone!!!!!!

If I were on the "Rock n Roll hall of Fame Committee" I would want it there in Ohio where it belongs. After all, they are an American band and belong in the hall of fame which is in America where rock n roll was born. Please stay here and I will be at peace. Would be cool to check out there, u know?

well i asked him once and he said he'll use the GuitarRig software for all his shit from now on, but that for the old songs he still uses his old setup... so i wonder if he's getting all new equipment to replace the old shit, or simply dropping it all and sticking with GuitarRig...

doesn't he have an exact duplicate rig stored in the UK too or something like that?

Starz

I don't think he does but Abe has all his drum shit stored somewhere in Europe for when they tour over here.

Just haven't had the time or the patience to list everything up for sale and put together a dedicated website for selling Stef's rig! He had been using the Bradshaw midi controlling system for over a decade to control his effects as well as Marshall JMP-1 preamps and Marshall 100/100 EL34 power amps, as well as the guitar rig program for the Diamond Eye's effect patches. The rig will also include all the necessary cables, flight cases for the pedalboards/racks, 2 Marshall 4x12 cabinets as well as a full rig "Bible" if you will, of every possible setting which also details which patches were used for every song that was ever played that I have put together.

Stef has 3 complete identical rigs and he will eventually be selling one rig in its entirety. No joke! Just going to be some time still before it will be available for sale. P.S. - Nothing is stored in England, it has all made it back to California.

The only reason Stef is even selling off his previous rig is because he made the switch over to the Fractal Audio Axe-Fx units and they do everything that all this other gear does, except it is all within a 2 space rack unit! www.fractalaudio.com.

We started out with the Axe-Fx Ultras, but Stef is currently writing/recording their new album with the Axe-Fx II. All of his tones live for the last tour and this upcoming album are direct out from the unit itself. No mics, no cabs, just pure tone from the Axe-Fx units themselves. They are quite amazing pieces of gear!

Thanks for the response! Yeah I talked to him about the AxeFX, awesome equipment indeed. So versatile and accurate.

Am I in the ballpark with 10k? (drummer's guess.. ;p)

Looking forward to the 'auction'

I'd be more than happy if i could get Steph's GuitarRig 3 laptop and foot controller.

So... no 4x12 speakers behind him from now on?

I make music too

he'll have the speakers of course... it's just the matter of what's coming through those speakers....

I think the AXEFX goes straight into the soundboard.. and he hears himself on the in-ears..

indeed, it's the case. it's also used for studio purposes, directly to the preamp.

I'm gathering AxeFx, Power Amp, Cabs as it's the most popular configuration. Don't know much about it but I think you may be able to run 2+ signals, so you could run it into the house PA and also some cabs on stage.

That's what I'm thinking... Just run it side by side... Plus wouldn't it sound different if it wasn't miced versus just being a DI in the soundboard? I've used different setups and I have GuitarRig myself actually and still nothing really beats a real mic'ed cab...
