Motorpsycho & Ståle Storløkken - The Death Defying Unicorn (2012)

genre: classic prog

Already my favorite of the year, and i doubt that anything will top it. Only time will tell, but this is bad ass. It's a totally rocking album, don't let the prog tag fool you, it doesn't have cheesy keyboard solos or anything of the sort. These guys are groovy as all hell. Listen to it! Favorite track at the moment is "Through the veil".

Sounds like:

True Widow - As High As the Highest Heavens and from the Center to the Circumference of the Earth (2011)

genre: stoner/shoegaze, or as some genius has dubbed it, stonegaze

I don't know what to say other than i like the sound of this band. Just check this video out. The vocals are fucking way off on this performance, but whatever.

The only song that i like is ''Slint'' of last two pages.
The last two song that you've sent raped my ears.
I think i love soft,melodic,melancholic things.
Any advise?

It's been hella long since my last post, but this is like an early christmas if your tastes are anything like mine.
I present to you:

Sunswitch - Sunswitch (2012)

genre: doom/post rock

This record was released not even a month ago. They've been flying under my radar until a few days ago, but i think they're pretty fresh on the scene. I watched a video of one of their live performances and was sold right away. They're quite unique due to the fact that their lead guitar is switched out with a tuba, which sounds ridiculous, but it's run through a lot of effects and stuff and it sounds fucking awesome. I hope you'll check them out and maybe get a hold of the vinyl release of this album. It sure as hell is on top of my wishlist for Christmas. My favorite track so far is another avenue.

this is what they sound like:

Sunswitch - "Another Avenue" - Blæst

HEADS UP IF YOU LIKE SOME SLUDGE! I can't see any of my last.fm friends already listening to these guys, but you should.

Norska - Norska (2012)

genre: sludge

I had to add this to my top albums of 2012, in 2013. Because it's just too awesome. It kept coming up in the best of the year lists on all sludge, stoner, doom pages i hang out on on facebook, so i thought it had to be good. And fuck me! is it ever. Rocks my socks off every time i put it on. And i've put it on quite a lot the last month or so.

See what they sound like on their bandcamp: http://norska.bandcamp.com/ I think the tracks Amnesia and Cholera are probably the most instantly likeable. Allthough there's not a dull moment on this record.
