though I've tried to get into independent/etc hip hop this year, it's just not my cup of tea. not that the music is bad or something, just not enjoyable to me personally :-)

I hear ya man, I honestly hated it for a while.  I've only really been a fan for a couple of years.  I think you might dig some of the beats on the album.  He teams up with a producer called Clams Casino and they make some pretty wild shit.  This is an instrumental of one of my favorite tracks on the album.  Its different, I guess thats why I like it...
