This is amazing. I found it from another forum member who posted on Crazylegs' thread. That album was Kozmokoma, but I think I like this one even better. It's a little less eratic and it's more "post-metally." Sounds like your classic post-metal.

Steak Number Eight - The Hutch

Highlights include-
Black Eyed
Phototonic
Pilgrimage of a Black Heart
Exile of Our Marrow
Slumber
Ashore

Pretty much the whole album is fantastic...

I'm actually really surprised that a search only brings up two mentions of this album on the forum, considering that for some time now I have considered it a top 20 all-time for me. The album is a concept album, where each song represents a deeper part of the ocean. So the first song is just below the surface, and the last song represents the deepest depths of the Mariana Trench.

The band is The Ocean, the album is Pelagial, and genre is somewhere between Progressive Metal and Post-Metal.

Highlights Include-
Into the Uncanny
Impasses
The Wish in Dreams
Signals of Anxiety
Let Them Believe
Cognitive Dissonance

This link is a playlist to the album, which comes in two versions, with vocals and without. So, if you like the instrumentals but aren't into the vocals, then never fear... just skip to halfway through the playlist and you'll have the instrumental version.

Found these guys a couple months ago, and they're great. Very short album, less than 40 minutes.

The band is Oh Hiroshima, the album is In Silence We Yearn, and the genre is Post-Rock.

Highlights include-
Ellipse
Ruach
Aria (particularly the climax)
Drones

I think you'll like it if you're into post-rock.

Checked it out. Sounds good, i guess, but it seems kinda sterile and unimaginative to me, unfortunately.

Pelagial is an amazing record. Listened to it countless times.

Saw the band perform the whole album from start to finish a couple years ago. Great stuff.

I am insanely jealous! I'm not a huge fan of their earlier work, though Heliocentric is very good (Firmament is perhaps even better than anything on Pelagial). As a whole, though they just hit the sweet spot with Pelagial. It's been in near-constant rotation for me since I first discovered it/them the year it came out, 2013. I hope the next record lives up to the greatness, and they continue to explore the softer nature of their sound. The earlier work is too "one-note" for me. I love screaming in my music, but I also like dynamics.

I dig their earlier stuff too.

'Aeolian' is a mammoth and the double release of 'Anthropocentric' (I prefer this over the other.) and 'Heliocentric' (gets a tad too clean though) is great too...especially the lyrical attack on Christianity. Clever and thoughtful.

Instrumental Post-Rock/Metal is generally a sub-sub-genre I try to stay away from. It seems over-saturated and overdone. These guys have always been on point, though. They sort of break the mold of most Instrumental Post-Stuff. They eschew the long-standing practice of the long slow build lasting an entire song, with a huge climax at the end and resulting quietness to finish the song. These guys have always brought the noise all throughout each song.

In case you missed it, this album was released in May of last year. Personally, I consider it the best of their amazing catalog.

The band is If These Trees Could Talk, the album is The Bones of a Dying World.

Highlights Include-
Solstice
Earth Crawler
After the Smoke Clears
Iron Glacier
The Giving Tree

U right!

You might prefer this one. It's the same band, but this album is much heavier. It's reminiscent of bands like Mastodon.

This is really good, and I only recently found it within the past week or so.

It seems like it's mostly labeled as Sludge Metal. I do hear Sludge in here, but also a few other genres. I also get a bit of a Post-Metal vibe, as well as even some early Alt-Rock styles like Pixies in there. It's an interesting mix.

I'd give you highlights, but honestly I'm not familiar enough with the album to pick out the songs themselves. There's no Wikipedia on the album to give track times, and the guy who posted the video didn't give times in the description (I hate that). It's worth a listen all the way through though, for sure.

The band is Helms Alee, the album is Sleepwalking Sailors (2014).

Helms Alee is good shit. I haven't listened to them nearly enough, thanks for the reminder.

Go listen to it on spotify if you want a bit more practical playback.
