You may have to format your drive and re-install your operating system. It's been corrupted. Also, if you haven't been updating your operating system, the blue screen error could be a result of that.

its the blue screen of death. time to go computer shopping. you can probably buy a couple months by formatting your drive and re-installing your OS but id start saving unless your rich. if thats the case then you can buy an Asian kid to do it for you.

What is this 1997? Honestly you need a new computer.

I've had this computer less than 8 months. I'm using Windows 7 and have ample space on my hard drive and hardly ever visit/download anything that would mess my computer up.

Can happen to any newer windows operating system,it has nothing to do with hard drive space or viruses (most of the time) sometimes an update can do it or sometimes not doing an update can do it ,I am guessing it does the infinite boot loop as well only thing you can really do is see if you can get to the recovery options and backup your hard drive and then reinstall windows.

I just checked for Windows updates and there were 18 that I needed to install...just now installing them, maybe that was the problem.

You obviously don't have Blue Screen of death then otherwise you wouldn't be able to use it at all it wouldn't get past boot screen

No it isn't that, but a blue screen pops up whenever the computer shuts down unexpectedly. I will just be on a website or listening to music or whatever and then it just shuts off.

That blue screen is not shutting your computer down it shows every time it doesn't shut down properly powercut etc ,might be your power supply then cause usually if a program shuts it down for an update it does it properly not just straight away, also check your fans are clean and working especially round cpu could be overheating , something else is causing it to crash the blue screen just tells you it happened.

Thanks for the advice, dude. I just installed the updates and restarted as well. I think I am going to get a can of air and blow out all the dust too. You're by far the coolest dude here! Haha.

Allgood ,if the fan is squeaking you can put sewing machine oil on the bearing to make it turn smoother. This happened to my mate it would just randomly turn off then one day the motherboard just stopped working completely hopefully it won't be that though, i doubt it his computer was a lot older.

Well, makes sense.
I had my own problems with dying hard drive, BSODs, clicking sound.. and it suddenly stopped. Pops up once in a while but it's definitely not a DEFINITIVE omen of hardware failure. However, 2-3 months from now I will finally get SSD. Quite expensive but definitely worth it!

Im studying to get a bachelors in computing and mathematical science at the moment,Also good call on SSD so much faster and you can get them in respectable sizes now.
