first post, let's see how this goes.

Deftones - Hexagram Drum Cover

Yeah! i've seen your cover before, one of the best ones (if not THE best cover) on youtube.

Offtopic: I remember watching on youtube an hexagram drum cover, the guy had a professional looking drum set (really cool gear with lots of cymbals and toms and stuff) but the guy just played random stuff and drummed allover the place like a little kid, he couldnt play drums for his life LoL but he insisted that he was playing the song and he was really serious about it... it was hilarious.  ;D

EDIT: i found the video.. prepare your hears

Deftones - Hexagram (Masakerr Extreme Syncopation Mix)

You couldn't be more wrong.

DeftonesNZ

Yeah he's using syncopated beats but the fact is it sounds nothing like hexagram.

Yes, he "can" play drums that's true but he has a very weird style and in my defense i can say that the first "review" was based on a very distant memory... i originally watched the video years before posting it here and i didn't watch it again until today and still is very funny to watch LoL

I make music too

lol....how was that considered a cover? (Masakerr Extreme Syncopation Mix)
it sounded nothing like Hexagram.

Sounded more like he threw his drums down a long staircase.

Since we'll never get anything again from Like Linus played live again, I think I'm going to cover some of those songs.. For sure going to try Guest and maybe Answers. @Whitefur, really awesome you could riff all the albums in there, just wish you'd played certain riffs just a couple seconds longer.

Gift/Guest is a good start

Then I guess Crazy Town's version of New Noise is better than Refused's

More seriously, the execution sure is good and it's decent for a rearrangement. But for a Deftones cover, I think the mood is just cheap. The melodic aspect in the song is supposed to be subtle, taking off the electric and putting an ethereal-sounding female singer is just... I don't know, easy. Give it more substance, make it more yours, if that makes sense. /rant
