Golden Gods 2013 Deftones and Chi

Watching the "Black Carpet" and GG Award Pre-Show...First off RIP to Slayer Guitarist Jeff Hanneman, a true gift to metal that passed too soon. Mentions of his passing abound on the show. In fact the show itself is dedicated to Jeff from Slayer. I get it, but so far not one mention of Chi Cheng's passing. I know Slayer is "bigger" than Deftones but come on...

Is it wrong for this to bother me a bit? I am Probably being a Deftones Homer too much, but you would think for the contribution Chi made and the life he lived it would be at least worth a mention. Hopefully during the show he will be recognized....

These shows are stupid but must admit I am rooting for the Tones to win in the several catigories they are nominated in....

Yeah it's fucked especially considering how even though their fan base isn't as big Chi and Deftones are highly respected by their fellow musicians, I'm guessing with all the Deftones nominations it will come up at some point though.

Yeah what has he and Rob Zombie even done recently? I wasn't expecting Stephen to win I thought maybe Misha but I'm pretty sure they're are just picking people that could come they guy from Halestorm just best drummer over Neil Peart and Abe WTF I don't care that Abe lost but to choose him is just wrong and has completely taken any meaning from these awards.

Was pretty sweet Greg doesn't sing normal well though, and that drum destruction got awkward when the drummer gently laid down his snare then realised he needed it and gently stood it up again lol
