Draiman posted a tweet about Chi, it's was all CAPS ;-)

Didn't know Greg was so lame.. His big inspiration must be G.G. Allin or something... pff -10 for him..

Chino & Abe were pretty tipsy accepting the award. Anyone know why Head stepped away and Chino hugged him?
And somewhere, There's someone who cares. With a heart of gold, To have and to hold.

Probably to let Chino and Abe talk, but Chino wanted to hug his friends?

Cool that they won, always love seeing Deftones getting the recognition they deserve. And the album itself truly deserves it, even though I would argue that Soundgarden's King Animal could easily be a tied first place.

Watching that Dillinger Escape Plan performance was painful.  All that theatrics stuff just looked so contrived, especially as part of some awards show.  I liked Dillinger Escape Plan's EP with Mike Patton vocals a little bit, but I have tried to listen to some of their other albums, and it just isn't good.  I saw them open for the Deftones during a Diamond Eyes tour, and I literally had to wait outside most the time, just to make it through their set.

I would love to get a studio MP3 of that Depeche Mode cover with Chino though, I can't lie.  Chino should just do a whole Depeche Mode greatest hits cover album already.

I loved the performance even though I don't like the music that much it's completely uncrafted and completely unintelligible live but I like the attitude they had it was like a big fuck you to the whole commercialised awards ceremony, which played off the whole so hardcore metal thing but then had shit like BVB and halestorm and then Dillinger went on and put on a full out metal performance and completely shocked the audience.

Beyond well said (except that I actually really love the band's music, too). When the line up was first announced I was already wondering why the hell they were on the same bill as any of those other guys, and watching them blow them out of the water was great. Chino coming out was the icing on the cake.

Who the fuck is David Draiman?
Lead singer of Disturbed. He also produced Trivium's 2013 album

Din't get me wrong I like Dillengers studio stuff but live it's hard to hear everything and it sounds messy but then again you don't go to live shows to hear studio like performances anyway.

Just. watched the award show, recorded it on the DVR,  I really shouldn't say watched though. I fast forwarded like 95% of it just stopping for Chino with DEP and for Album of the Year. What from I did watch though it seems like a pretty crappy award show, sorry just my opinion.

I've seen other DEP performances and they sounded much better than that show.. I was like... WTF? Are they drunk/stoned?
Anyways, I kinda enjoyed their performance, and the part with Chino was really great.

And I also think Chino hugged him because he haven't seen him in a lot of time.. and maybe he's got back with Korn...

Yes yes, Deftones, yes yes, heavy metal, yes yes, nü metal, yes yes, fucking queer, yes yes...
