Stephen is endorsing yet another brand of digital amp modeling and fx called BIAS FX. For most of you who are non-musicians this is really not that interesting. However, this videos pretty cool... Stephen plays his new red-sparkle Telecaster and demos some improv riffs. Probably not new material, but it was cool to see him actually play a bit of leads and him using the whammy bar, which he's never used in his playing in the past.

Speaking of using a whammy bar it'd be cool to Steph use this awesome Steinberger looking 8 string with fanned fret and true temperament http://geargods.net/playthrough/allan-marcus-and-his-most-daunting-of-all-guitars-returns-with-another-emg-playthrough/ with a TransTrem type whammy or one of those new stupid named but awesomely inventive Virtual Jeff type whammy - http://www.fomofx.com and with laser pickups - http://www.gizmag.com/laser-system-detects-guitar-string-pitch/19278/ and and Eventide H8000FW.

stephen is deftones, dawg.

Steph doing more solos would be cool. Actually take that guitar I linked too, and make it a 36 fret like the Kramer Turbulence R-36 with realistic fret spacing like the Uli Jon Roth Sky guitar and you've got a crazy guitar for soloing.

Or crazier yet add an extra high A string like this guy:
! No longer available

So tuned F#, B, E, A, D, G, B, E, A

Someone even talked about going to high D after the high A.
http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/extended-range-guitars/34561-seven-string-guitar-high-string-sound.html.

So a 10 string tuned F#, B, E, A, D, G, B, E, A, D  :o

There's already 9 string guitars with a lower string. Be cool to see someone go the other way with higher strings. Apparently someone even made a 40 fret guitar. http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/extended-range-guitars/7437-41-frets-guitars.html. A 40 fret 10 string would be an interesting contrast with the low F.  :o :o

Sorry buddy, but I've tried it. The High A string is too thin to stay in tune properly or bend consistently. A high D would be straight up impossible.

Sorry buddy, but you must not have watched the video I posted where the guy uses a high A. :)
Ever hear of jazz guitar great Lenny Breau? He also famously used a high A. You can read about him hear buddy:
http://www.sandguitars.com/artists/breaul/artistpage.htm

Vai used this set up too and switched too the low B only because his high A would break when he used his whammy bar. Google it.

Here's another guy buddy that had a custom Strat built with high A: http://www.maestroalexgregory.net/id17.html.

He also had a patent to address the high A buddy: http://maestroalexgregory.net/id25.html

Nothing on the high D other than the link I posted.

That all said yes you can have a guitar with a high A buddy.  :D

I'm sorry, you seem to be offended by me calling you "buddy."

I didn't mean to offend you.

I also never once said that you can't have a guitar with a high A. I simply said it isn't reliable. You'll go through 5 a week.

Steph doing a solo EP would be cool.
I'd also add this to his arsenal for sonic exploration and more:
Min'd pick www.keyboardmag.com/video/lesson/31257074001, Gizmotron http://www.gizmotron.com, Roland Integra 7 http://www.rolandus.com/products/integra-7/, Guitar wing http://lividinstruments.com/products/guitar-wing/, Scala software http://www.huygens-fokker.org/scala/, oscilloscope, Jacob's ladder.

Nope, not offended.  8)  Nothing suggests it's reliability being limited to 5 weeks. Show me a link?  ;D

Love you.

Personal experience, that's it, that's all. No links, sorry ;)

Tried putting an .007 string tuned to A, broke while shredding on a bend less than an hour after putting it on.
