Maybe they just make their one last brutal song on eros (or maybe they didnt do any of them).
the other just some experimental-shit.
i like that experimental stuff but i really need a lot more deftones's brutal songs on their next album!
Whatever, just if the whole thing as one is good.
Btw, i doubt if they will name it Eros. You know you'll never know with deftones

yeah i doubt it too, kind of hope it isn't. i don't really like the name.
come to think of it saturday night wrist is kind of stupid too, but a great cd.
You forgot some heavy songs (Hexagram, Headup or Birthmark...) imo, but yeah the band always gave us brutal songs on each release.

hexagram and headup are both there... birthmark might not be, but the other 2 are
what about bloody cape, i think that songs pretty brutal

Chino:" So far, it's shaping up to be our most unorthodox piece of work, not only sound-wise but the way a lot of the songs have come about. There is also some of that good old "fuck you, i hope you die!" aggression I know a lot of you love and miss from us."
Keep your eyes open;).
kimdracula & combat are pretty heavy too
man ive talked to old school metal heads and when i mention the tones they always say.."they r abunch of pussies" , which totally pisses me off b/c they compare them to bands like clutch..which ..well to be honest i HATE the fact that poeple think they are so hard.thtas like saying lynyrd skynyrf is hard...fuckin retarded. >:(

lol no there not
staight forward in your face... that's heavy. thats nosebleed and engine no.9
the topic is "hope for another brutal songs" , kimdracula isnt that brutal.at all. i dont know what version you got of the song but id love to hear it
Kimdracula is not that brutal. It definitely has a heavy pulse but its nothing like "Elite" or "Rats!Rats!Rats!" But I would say that "Combat" is definitely one of their heavier tracks. Not quite as much as the aforementioned two but its up there.
Even rats x 3 has a warm, sunny chorus. Rapture is kind of heavy.

hahaha!
i hate this song.
its so wierd cause i never hated a single deftones song until snw came about :(
no bless.
SNW was a bit too disparate, not joined up. Perhaps due to the recording process being all fooked up.

yeah i know what you mean....
and yeah we need some old deftones style songs for the new album
Well, I actually think Snw was better than S/T. At least I like more the brutal songs they made in Snw. And I like the fact that Snw is a bit brighter, but I agree that I don't know up to which point the flow goes well. Oh, and the fact that Buffalo didn't make the record will always be a point less. But fuck it, we have a live version and an instrumental demo, that's something.
I think the next album will anything but "brutal" The more they try to switch it up the farther they are from the old days. Face it, they are not the band to rehash old sounds. Whatever the sound for the new album is, I just hope it's melodic. I'm sure it'll have it's heavy moments. I will be pissed if there is a lot of electronica songs(ie pink cellphone and lucky you) Chino can leace that shit for Team Sleep
you guys...are always complaining. If you want straight evil music...why dont you listen to Slipknot, or some cradle of filth or any shit with screams and crazy drums and riffs?
deftones songs are a balance between emotions, styles, heart, soul, dark, light.
I like agressive songs from them too...but you are always saying that..."oh we need some old shit...like old days"...yeah? They are older...they have more knowledge, more experience...and we are in 2008...not in 1998 or 1995! Do you want them to repeat themselves?
SO PLEASE DEFTONES MAKE AROUND THE FUR II OR ADRENALINE II, OR JUST MAKE COVERS FROM SCREAMO BANDS!
they need to do...everything, cause they are deftones!
Are not teenager, bloody cape, minerva, beware, pink maggit, knife party, battle-axe or even BQAD..."brutal songs"?

Agreed. You guys dont get it by now then deftones just aint your band. Im suprised with all the hate on SNW. I fucking loved Combat, Kimdracula, Rats, HITE, Xerces, Cherry Waves, Beware, and Riviere. Good album despite your lust for "old shit".
actually i dont want deftones to make another adrenaline or atf, i just need a fresh-aggresive and heavy as hell songs from new deftones!
i know they are growing old, but i believe they could give us some "mature-poetic-experimental" brutal songs.
they can do it, cuz they are deftones.
but even if they did another atf or adrenaline, i'd love to hear that.
lol
and yes, pink cellphone and lucky SHOULDN'T be on deftones record.
its fits on teamsleep.
teenager, minerva, bqad = brutal songs?
fuck no.
they are too beautiful to become brutal.
compare it with
teething, head up, lotion, RATS, RAPTURE.
that's brutal.

They should put those songs wherever they like. I honestly believe that those songs sound good just where they are. I mean, plenty of Team Sleep songs could've fit just as well on a Deftones record. The weird electronic stuff is just as much a part of Deftones as any of their other elements.
for me deftones can be sumed up in 3 words.
style, emotion, and grace.
i think a big reason why they toned down is becasue of frank and his atmospheric additions to the heavy riffs. I mean adrenaline and ATF didnt really have much from him and they had the most hardest songs according to pony 01 and most other people, so it kinda makes sense.
I don't know about that. WGTB is quite a heavy tune and you can just about hear Frank's sample action in that song which sits quite low in the mix but I guess it had to.
there are some "nice" songs on SNW, but the heaviest would have been Buffalo, at LEAST in its Demo form without the lyrics...

yea that is an exception...another one would also be Korea becasue i don't think the heaviness would have been pulled off as well if frank had not had added that belowing swishy swirly(can't really descibe it better) effect behind stefs verse riff...i think this was one of the rare instances of sound combinations that could capture that heaviness
what about mein. its a pretty brutal song guys
Brutal compared to... what exactly?
Its a heavy and fast riff but the song overall fails to rip your face off at any point like the others that have been suggested as "brutal."

an exception to this or rather an equivelant would be the end of beware..this is the only instance on SNW where stefs detuned sound is unrestrained by chino's guitar...fuckin sick ass shit
Every song of the Deftones is great, but Lotion always gets me pumped up really bad. I hope for some of that clean, heavy shit on the next album.
