Title: Young Person's Guide into classic rock
Post by: whodunit? on Jul 23, 2008, 07:20 AM
The purpose of the thread is to talk about band from the period of 1960's-1980's that are pretty interesting but not widely known to a large group of people. Please, don't talk about Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple etc. band that people already know. I look for such bands myself and I'd love to find some real gems.

I'll start the thread with

Gentle Giant
"In a glass house"

8/10

Soft Machine
"The Soft Machine"

8/10

I have to admit I've heard about the band after The Mars Volta's released cover of their song "Memories". The band in it's beginnings was a kind of proto-death from above 1979, as there were only two members - a drummer/percusionist and a bass/keys player.
