The Deftones are now plotting a tentative February release date for their new album. The band had previously recorded a new effort by the name of "Eros" but have since shelved that outing for the time being and instead went back to the studio to track another albums worth of material, which will now serve as their next outing. Further details are expected in the coming months.

February isn't too far away!
But why haven't they announced a title? Something...some artwork teasers. Their marketing sucks now. Atleast update their twitters, or whatevers bands are using these days, to help us get news straight from the horses mouth.

Fuck that! we could mention a thousand bands and mostly of them has videos from their recordings sessions or shits like that
I agree that deftones it's not really a comercial band, but... c'mon, we need something new, even their channel in Youtube doesn't even have any video :(
in all fairness, they haven't been working on this new album for that long. less than a year. Eros, on the other hand, did take bit longer.

The reason they have no videos on their channel is because Warner Brothers and Youtube had an issue.. so they took all their videos down, Metallica's youtube is the same way
Well then, if thats true. Both Deftones and Korn are releasing their new albums in February,
They should tour the world together with the albums! Could be really great.
2 asskicking bands with almost the same roots, and they have alot in common.
And no other sucking supportbands, or maybe Limp Bizkit. Their new album is almost done too!
And as it seems, all the bands are returning to the roots, especially korn.
Could be "The Return Of The Nu-Metal Legends" Tour.
Korn's been putting out a lot of albums recently.
i think korn sucks

I know Nu-metal isnt even a genre. It was back in the 90´s a way to separate modern metal band from sleaze shit from the 80´s.
Im pretty sure Deftones count´s as "new metal" when they came. It was new and fresh and definitely not a sleaze-metal band, and they´re are not hardcore.
the nu-metal word isnt working today cuz everything is modern metal. But it was one time.
LB, korn and deftones are all different bands, but they came the same time. And they we´re sticking together. And they´re still friends, just look at the Chi Song Fieldy made, and Fred Durst love´s deftones and send a get well card to chi.
Of course things have changed since the beginning of the 90´s, but i think that tour should be cool. And it would sell a lot of tickets.
Yeah I kind of see what you're saying. They're all different sounding, yet they all come from the same backgrounds. Grunge is back, why not nu-metal circa 1997

Okay? honestly, i´ve been seing deftones on mtv just as much as Korn and LB recently. and that´s not much at all.
And why the fuck would Deftones tour with slipknot if they dont care about money at all?

Music is their job! It´s their thing they do for living. Just because they arent that big and commercial mainstream like Linkin Park, it doesnt mean that they are playing for free and living on the streets like hobo´s.

1st what's the benefit for Deftones do tour with korn or LB when they get the album released???the Tones wouldn't headline the tour and that makes no sense since by that time what they should do is to do an headline tour for that record...2nd as you see most deftones fans don't have much respect for band's like korn and limpbizkit so it would that would be a turn off...like when they toured with metalica...most of the people that went to the show's went to see metalica and not deftones...I remember even seeing the guys from mudvayne being frustrated about playing for a crowd that didn't care about them in the afternoon. 3d Me personally I rather see them touring with a new band opening for them, I think it would be cool if bands like Kaospilot would open for the Deftones, or maybe M83 since apparently they made a colab on the new record.
Where'd you hear about deftones collaborating with M83?
yea I know frank (or someone) used the song "Be Wild" as an intro for there summer 2007 tour and it sounded sick but thats no colab.

DenOndaNissen I haven't see Deftones on MTV since the white pony era. And you right it is there job to make music. But they aren't like Korn who makes more albums super back to back, Why do you think Korn does that? Its because they know they Have a HUGE poser following fan base so they know the fans will buy anything they put out. Every Korn album sounds exactly the same for crying out loud. And I wasn't to happy to see Deftones touring with slipknot at all!

To get in the music industry and to get "big" and say it is not about the cash is a liar. Who is gonna pay for the bill's? the studio time? the tours? How to live?
Certainly not by being a underground band that plays in your town 4 nights a month.
Deftones are defiantly on a league of their own but they did start of with the Limp Bizkit and Korn guys. It's their roots as much as you people don't want it to be true. And, i dont know if you remember. But they also toured with Mudvayne, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park and Metallica on metallica´s own Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003.
That was when the tones had released their S/T album. It´s not that long ago really.
It´s after that they started tour with some more alternative rock/hardcore bands.
I think thats the cool thing about the deftones. They can be one of the biggest bands out there headlining festivals with metallica, but they can be very underground too and tour with band´s like Glasjaw, Thrice and other post-hardcore bands.

In the Europe leg they did it with Linkin Park, wish I could have seen them with Incubus. That would have been a gig.
Den- Summer Sanitarium was a huge arena tour, playing to a huge amount of people is great promotion. (Saying they share the same audience as Metallica, Limp and Mudyane) but by then all those bands have their own identity and sound now so their was no worry about sounding alike. Besides Chino did not want to do it. It was up to a vote in the band if memory serves.
I really hope they give us a treat for Halloween.

Halle Tony Garnier? Didn't the Foos play that gig as well??
Yeah Halle Tony Garnier. Don't recall Foos being with them. It was Deftones plus special guests Incubus.

Are you kidding, aren't you?
Deftones and Korn have been my favoirte bands since forever!
If they tour again together that would be badass!
But fuck all this "nu metal" shit.
I hate that word!
Deftones are Deftones and Korn is Korn!
i used to be a hardcore korn fan then i grew up and matured. deftones still seemed relevant to me and korn has just become a carbon copy of themselves. incubus would be a good tour mate but frankly light grenades was horrible.

Make Yourself is good too! :p but I agree.. I just wouldnt say Light Grenades is awful.
first time i heard 'issues ('99)' at the store 'korn' and i parted ways. i was 17 in 1999. so don't give me too much shit :) they were huge off their first 3 albums. 3rd one was well engineered too in retrospect.
