this is a pretty big show in canada at least. I happened to hear the dude mention deftones in my car tonite so I checked the website out and found this interview.
it kinda is cool and i guess they have the mixes of the new "untitled" record themselves as at one point chino says "stephen will probly play you some later"
stephen also fives a speach about all the craziness that goes on before the record comes out. probly a little bit of that is to do with insane obsessive boards like this but hey, were just fans.

Nine songs written in fourteen days? Wow.
Interesting facts about "Around the fur"
Ive been searching interviews mentioning their demos or anythin related to it..have they ever been asked about it?
NEXT YEAR ?!
now i can easly say that album is gonna out at 2035
great interview. Always nice to hear an interview done by a knowledgable person rather than the usual guff we have to put up with.
And I love that over 10 years on, there are still facts to learn about Around the Fur.
Thanks for sharing the interview
stef is always like >>> ;D

yup his name is nick..its in another thread
Alan Cross's shows always have good interviews on them or at least interesting stuff. He has 2 shows that play in Canada ones called Ongoing History of New Music and other is called Explore Music and thats like news and new stuff. its probly one of the only decent things on the air besides college radio
They seemed pretty laid back and feeling pretty good. I'm glad they don't feel the need to call it their best work ever. Just wanting to put it out. It was a very honest interview. One of the better ones around. Thanks for this.
one thing i noticed, Chino said he got like half his vocals done for eros. so it's not finished/mixed/mastered
great stuff, thanks for posting. i love how steph is already talking how they will sound after this new upcoming record "only a new record for now... after 6 motnhs.. it gets put back on the shelf... and we say "now were working the NEW release over HERE check this one OUT...that ones old, we sold that one, check this shit out this is NEW" ;D
and as a swede its pretty cool that the first 2 records they recommend is both from bands from a town up north in sweden called umeƄ.(meshuggah and refused) what are the odds
Someone tell us, what are the new facts? I'm curious about the around the fur ones specially.
freddy!

I'm not one bit worried about that. Alice In Chains wrote and recorded the Jar of Flies EP in 7 days and it's a true classic.

well.. deftones isnt aic... im not saying its impossible for other bands at all, im just concerned about this particular band. they usually take their time, i just dont want them to cough up something just to get something out there when eros is on hold
can someone transcript the interview or rip it? I can hear it.. :'/
Didn't they write ATF in like four months?

yes, when they were young and had only 1 record on the road. When you've done lets say 30 or 40 songs there's so much things you've already done and so much things you don't want to do...it varies on bands and its periods in time anyway.
