The Dillinger Escape Plan and Deftones are very likely hitting the road for a North American Tour in March 2010, this comes from a very reliable source. You can call bullshit and brush this off as another rumour, but I definitely would'nt.
then you are cool
If that actually happened, that would be amazing.
come to europe, too.
I'm going to be in Las Vegas for a week in March. Hopefully they will stop by when I'm there...
fuck DEP. buncha queeeas

shut up and go to another topic if you don't like them.
TDEP!
Deftones w/ Greg Puciato(TDEP) - Passenger: Chi Cheng Benefit 11/19/09:

I would buy tix in a heartbeat
is that much asking both bands to come to Mexico?
March Tour was tole to me...I dont know if theyre taking overseas as well but deff North American...it was supposed to happen a long time ago but obv didnt...this times for real though or at least thats what was tole to me by an insider
Lets just say I went to the Dillinger/Thursday show in New York this past Friday...
Tour with better bands please.
I'd much rather see Celine Dion or the Chocolate Rain guy. lol.
You don't have to be there for DEP if it bothers you that much.
Seriously. After so many years of going to Deftones' shows, there has never been one opening band that has gotten a good response from the crowd. Deftones fans are just there for Chino's cock.
How can you guys not be excited for DEP? They're intense, interesting, and should be a good performance.

Idk man they're just one of those bands that I cant enjoy. I've given them plenty of chances, but I cant take their music. No doubt they are very talented. I was hoping for Deftones/Thrice. Or M83 but I knew that wasn't happening. I don't consider the Deftones a metal band. I don't think they need to be touring with really heavy bands. But Im not knocking DEP at all.
M83, Thrice, and Deftones would be sweet.
I prefer DEP over slipknot, that's a plus i guess.
The Dillinger Escape Plan will be the best band Deftones have ever toured with.

yep. i wouldnt mind if they add will haven to the line up, though. that would be a killer gig.
Actually the Glassjaw/Deftones tours were the best, Thrice/Thursday/Deftones was also good, even when Fall of Troy/Dir En Grey opened last time i saw tones it was sweet....so I think DEP will be a great opener, saw them last week and they were more intense than any band ive seen

Word.
GLASSJAW/DEFTONES.......cant beat that!
Okay, maybe back in the day Glassjaw would have been good...but listening to 'Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence' now just doesn't have the same effect on me it did a few years ago. DEP I still love but this is the only band in that kind of genre I really listen to now. I'm mainly into abstract/ambient type music... I think Mogwai would be a great opening act for Deftones. I have a feeling the new Deftones album is going to be some of the heaviest shit they've ever released; Chino keeps talking about 'riffs' so maybe DEP is a wise choice... ;)
Deftones would have to open for Mogwai

Wrong, and I personally think that there isn't any DEP material that even comes close to any of Glassjaws music. I saw Deftones and Glassjaw in 06 and they are great paired together. Mogwai would be sick too! Especially with Team Sleep!
haha no fighting from me....but do u guys seriously think the Tones would open for Mogwai?? I cant see that. But who knows....

who opened for who?
Revolution Smile and A Perfect Circle opened for Deftones. They played Battle-Axe at Wembley Arena and I missed it...
cool

Come on guys...the Deftones have toured with Black Sabbath, Pantera, APC and Incubus before,,,that statement in ridiculous. Even with Korn when they were actually good...
I still prefer DEP over ALL those bands. Opinions, eh?

Its not that I think one band is better than the other, its more based on the amount of equipment that mogwai uses versus that of the deftones. Honestly, I could see them alternating opening nights, or, more ideally, sharing the stage. Could you imagine the deftones and mogwai playing each others songs together. That would never happen, but a boy can dream.

I got ya! I've never seen Mogwai live before. Didn't know they had tons of shit on stage. But yea, that show would be amazing. It will never happen tho :(
I still think Mogwai and Team Sleep would go perfect together!!
Glassjaw/Deftones could still happen again in 2010 because theyll both have new material coming out and both shall be touring throughout the year

But Glassjaw might not come out with a album in 2010. They're having issues with their old record label and cant release any music until they get it figured out. Hopefully they resolve that shit soon. Hopefully we get lucky!
sounds like a good deal for me

and THAT would be fucking awesome!
I loved the incubus/deftones shows of the white pony era...
as for Dillinger, i would enjoy seeing them...i just hope their fans don't do dropkicks and that stupid backhand punching the air repeatedly thing...pits are for moshing, not silly fighting moves.
If DEP tour with Deftones, once again, it would be great if they come to the americas (Mexico :P )
but glassJaw or Thrice would be just perfect ::)
I haven't seen DEP for awhile, and to have both together would be 100% amazing. I WILL TRAVEL for this, if they don't pop by me.
new DEP album, new Deftones album........... so happy.
Deftones actually shared a stage before with Mogwai (the bassist in Mogwai had a Deftones shirt on too). Think it was back in 98 or something at the Astoria, London on the 'NME Clean Sweep' Tour

I used to have a video of the whole gig on VHS. Therapy were on as well. It was part of a week long thing at the Astoria and Deftones/Mogwai played the same night.
Think they were recorded for TV so the videos may be knocking about somewhere!

I only ever saw the My Own Summer footage that was broadcast but nothing else. Shame really. Think the VHS I had was the audience one as well.
Oh, the days before YouTube...
