Deftones @ Weenie Roast?

When they played the Weenie Roast in '03 it was the worst deftones show I have ever been to. Super short set and Chino passed out drunk during My Own Summer and started mumbling into the mic.
the SBD audio from 98 weenie roast is one of my favorite boots, plus shows like this equal alot of radio play cause the station wants to promote the show

For being as fucking drunk as he was. I'm pretty goddamn impressed. It seems like he was overcompensating for the fact that he knew he was too fucked up and he ended up putting a shitload of weight into some of his longer droning vocal notes and they sounded sick. Good shit. Awesome "Bloody Cape" "to play us out" (Bill O'Reilly) lol.
I loved Chino's interlude like the 4'26-4'45 one.
What a voice. I miss this era when i watch at this, and i miss Chi a lot...

Well, I can tell you that the atmosphere sucked if you were there. Deftones were supposed to go on at a certain time but then Janes Addiction came out as the surprise guests and it cut the deftones set short. People were confused.. (One girl even said, wow Deftones sound really different live, not realizing she was actually watching Janes Addiction) Most of the crowd left to get beers during deftones. The only songs I remember anyone getting excited aout was Change and Minerva which was huge on the radio in LA around then.
'03 was kind of like my deftones year for me. I saw them at least 6-7 times.. There was the club tour, I even saw their hometown show in Sacramento (although I think that was in Jan 04) and I was at the Hexagram shoot. This show was just really bad compared to all the others I saw around that time.

Im with you. I could barely make it through be quiet and drive. Chino timing wasnt right in certain places. It was like he was singing the acoustic version to the electric version.
