Ok so which track was one that you initially quite disliked or just didn't feel, but has suddenly crept up on you and not only become likeable, but become a favourite? Anyone? Granted some of these occurences can take months or years to happen.
TPID for me. I feel it's the Battleaxe of this album. it's the dark, FUBAR, resigned track.
Feel free to list the sleepers on other albums if you want. On Adrenaline I'd say it was Birthmark for me, none on ATF - that whole album stayed the way it was, Change (very recently) on WP, Hexagram on S/T, none on SNW.
976-Evil. Didnt like it as much as the others at first, but now its up in my favorites

this.
For a while, 976-EVIL was the only one I'd skip (sometimes) but now I love it. Not one of my favorites, but still there. Aaaand Sextape too. Wen I heard the reviews I figured I'd love Sextape, but then I figured it wasnt all that amazing, and now it's one of my favorites.
Frm Adrenaline, Birthmark had to grow on me a lot. I think the beginning part used to bore me and I'd get impatient and skip it, but now it's all good. On ATF, most of it had to grow on me (even now there are still a couple of songs I dont really like) mostly because it's more heavier, and I was into the softer stuff, but even then, I'd go back to it after a few months and find that I liked more. Same with Elite on White Pony and Hexagram on S-T. And SNW...Cherry Waves.
Agree with you guys about 976-EVIL............I kinda grow on you........like a good fungus. 8)
I have to go with real. WP was korea.On s/t it was hexagram and also when girls telephone boys. SNW rapture.
I dug 976 from the start. For me it was royal on this one. I did not give it a fair shake because it was wedged between DE and c&c, neither of which have been a favorite on this one.
SNW = Combat
WP = Elite
ST = Bloody Cape (my favorite on ST forever now)
Others = God who remembers that far back...
This. Place. Is. Death.
when it comes to deftones, the amazing and breathtaking songs at first listen always remained that way.. same with the meh songs and with the what the hell >:(?-songs.... and same with their records. none of em got better or worse. i don't know if that's good or bad in the end. it's safe i guess.
maybe birthmark.. it went from really really good to really really really good
the whole album puts me to sleep
damn that's cold
TPID grabbed me from the first playback, my pick would probably be Sextapes, although I still usually skip it.
The whole album is awesome.....but 976 went from being "eh" to one of my favorites.....I only skip one song (this place is death) but the rest of the album just keeps getting better for me.
Prince is my #1....hope they play it at one of the shows i attend.
Could never get into Diamond eyes ( the song ) Prince is a really cool track, it only got my full attention after I really heard franks synths on it.
i really hate beauty school :/ dont know why, but i think its a booring track for me

I love their mellow shit just as much as the hard shit.....Beauty school is a smoke a J and take a cruise with the top down type of joint....that and 976....they take me away to a good place.
I guess 976 and TPID, but they were two of my favorites from the get go. My choice is CTRL...some people here don't like it but I think it's a nice little gem.
from SNW=pink cellphone! ...its a dick
There are almost 0 sleepers
But for me
CMND/CTRL - Skip
Risk
Thats it. Risk I'll listen to on occasion though.
It all depends on circumstance or where I hear a song that was initially 'hidden'. Sextape for example - I totally loved that more after seeing it live and 976 Evil crept up after I started focusing on Franks effects in the chorus whilst on a bus going to work.
You've seen the Butcher, i didn't like it much at first, but now is one of my favorites =)

This. Place. Is. Death.
Sextape I still don't really like, but I'll tolerate. I'm waiting for it to creep back and eventually bite me in the ass.
I had 'sleepsongs' during early stages of listening. I've only heard Bored and BQAD at the time. Adrenaline grew on me later as well as S/T, I didn't even get stuff like Hexagram or WGTB, but ATF, SNW I listened to in its entirety. NOW (actually several years ago) I like every single song as well as played everything guitar, some of on drums.
First 9 songs are awesome.......last 2 aren't.
This Place Is Death really ended up being my DE sleeper song. It's not my favorite, but it definitely snuck up on me.
only songs i like are rocket skates risk the acoustic YSTB. the album never gets played. Always return to WP and S/T
Id say... sextape from top to bottom... no more questions asked... sorry but Id rather listen to pink cellphone than to this one...
rockat skate.
I think some of you are missing the point of what a "sleeper" song is. That means the song is generally underappreciated or a grower.
what 's worth mentioning is that the op explained it pretty well too

this.
still rokcet skates.
None of them...
Rocket skates
Feiticeira from White Pony.
DE = diamond eyes.
also : wp - white pony, s/t - self titled, atf - around the fur, lol - laughing out loud, brb - be right back
BBQ ?
I really didn't like Risk too much when I heard it, I thought it was kinda boring to be honest. Still not that found of Diamond Eyes (the song) and This Place Is Death is just meh.. This Place Is Death probably grew the most of those three, the rest of the album I thought was very good.
