INCEPTION Trailer 3 - Official HD (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z75o-F6ja2I#ws)
yeah i'm looking forward to this one. it better be awesome since he stalled batman 3 to make it.
It looks fucking amazing.
Super excited about it. Nolan can do no wrong.
I'm with you guys on this, this movie looks good. Should make up for most of the crap coming out this summer

yea...this is the film Nolan actually wanted to make. Fuck Batman 3, that is doomed to failure anyway.
Why is it doomed to failure?

Are you serious? I would say the same thing if another director was making it, but with Nolan on board I don't have any worries.
I hope you guys are right. Just name a third good movie in a series outside of LOTR.
I'm just preparing myself. I don't want to have high expectations and get handed a bag of ridiculousness.
Looks pretty like a pretty good mind fucking movie :D
Army of darkness l. Star wars episode 3 (not great but better then the first 2), Harry potter 3,
Oops that "1" was a typo
Return of the Jedi I enjoyed. but seriously, overall I have to agree with ben. the endings of trilogies almost always let me down completely, ESPECIALLY in movies based off comic books.
but on topic for Inception, this is probably the only summer movie I'm really looking forward to. well, besides Expendables and Machete too.
as long as christian bale is not around he cant ruin everything good.

Goddamnit, this is gonna be incredible.
*waits for wax to tell us it'll suck*
Nah, I'll do it.
This looks pretty gay and will suck.
i'm purely going to watch it because it looks like an interesting storyline...oh, what the fuck am i saying? i'm purely going to watch it for cillian murphy.
Well I'm watching it cuz of Joseph Gordon leavitt! :p Lol
hahaha we both have solid reasons, my friend.
ok then one of my many reasons is Marion Cotillard
I guess no one is watchin purely because of Leo DiCaprio? Haha
The whole cast is stellar.

Boner.
i know man, i cannot wait to see this beast. it still stands as the only movie i'm REALLY looking forward. at least for this summer. Nolan never disappoints.
lookin' good
Snippets from early reviews:
"Inception is a masterpiece. Making a huge film with big ambitions, Christopher Nolan never missteps and manages to create a movie that, at times, feels like a miracle."
"Inception is an exhilarating cinematic experience that suggests there is still room, even in the blockbuster world, for big ideas and dangerous emotions, and that may be the single most thrilling thing about it."
"a stunning achievement and the most completely entertaining film I've seen in years."
"While THE DARK KNIGHT was the #1 film of 2008 and a pop-culture phenomenon, with INCEPTION, Nolan has truly created his magnum opus; an achievement of such grandeur, it's remarkable a film of this scale was made in this day and age. "
"Pure cinema at its best feels like dreaming with your eyes wide open. Cinema doesn't get much purer than INCEPTION."
Can't. Fucking. Wait.
!!!
Fucking genius! Hahaha.
The Simpsons Movie / Inception Trailer 3 Mash Up (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odpNE6ApxY0#ws)
shit that is some great editing!
my buddy got 4 tix for tomorrow night on IMAX. i haven't been this excited for a movie since Dark Knight.
Awesome!
I have to wait till the 29th when it premieres in Denmark.
Fucking fuck fuckity fuck! :(
wow i would agree with that sentiment. that's awful, at this point i can't even wait 24 hours, let alone 2 whole weeks.
That movie was quite the mindfuck. I think I'm going to see it again this weekend to wrap my mind around it. Well done. Also, Nolan leaves the audience with an ending that is open-ended just like The Prestige. Seriously Nolan should just stop the Batman movies (yeah I said it) and stick to the original movies because they are so much more satisfying.
I wouldn't say that, as I still consider Dark Knight as the best superhero movie as well as one of my favorite movies of all time. That said, Inception is a goddamn masterpiece, a beautiful work of art, and as you said above, a total mindfuck. Once again, Nolan got the very best out of all the actors, and good god how awesome is Joseph Gordon-Levitt? He probably got a little lucky that he starred in the best action scenes of the whole film, but for being a former child star he has grown into a damn good actor.
The only problem I had with it was Hans Zimmer's soundtrack. It was a good soundtrack, but just seemed like it was too much for this movie. There was music constantly being played in the background, and his big, huge scores sometimes got in the way of the dialogue that was taking place. But then again I saw it on IMAX so a lot of scenes were just LOUDNESS. 8)
Basically though, I loved Inception and I need to see this again.
Awesome, man.
Glad to hear you loved it. I'm almost positive I'm gonna love it myself now ;)
Can't wait to see Levitt's performance. He's easily one of my favorite actors.
I don't want to give anything away...but I'd give it a B to a B+. There was something missing from this film and I think some of the great actors like Levitt and Watanabe were horribly misused.
However, I really did enjoy this film. I think it will grow on me. Cillian Murphy is a great actor. Juno was very tolerable and good in it. Some of the action sequences were amazingly stunning. Good to see Tom Berenger have a nice role haha.
My expectations were for something with more to think about afterwards...people say Kubrick, but I don't see that comparison at all. Great action film with what I felt were some great moments of inspired emotion...but not a thinking man's classic. Far from that. I'm going to see it again in IMAX with new expectations that isn''t thinking this is our generation's Blade Runner...because unfortunately, it didn't take the torch.
I cant wait to see it maybe next week :) It has a rating of 9.3 in less than 24 on imdb.com I know Nolan said he wont be recasting the joker for the next batman, start production April 2011, but Levitt does look a little bit as Heath and I think he would do a swell job.
the popular rumor for Batman 3 is that Levitt will be the Riddler.
I don't see that as happening. Or atleast I wish for it not to happen. Why not use a better villain like Hush? The Riddler is perhaps the shittiest of all villains.
as long as christian bale has no part in it..
anywho, looking forward to seeing this movie. hearing ben's response, if it doesnt take the torch to blade runner or some good old kubrick-esque-after-thinking, i dont know. we'll see, because thats what i was hoping for
In my opinion, it doesn't. However, it is a really solid film and filled with a lot of good ideas (in regards to formulating a story and shooting film).
SPOILER
I think the subplot with the Leo's wife was a little drawn out and I think that was the only problem I had with the movie
I'm seeing this again (in IMAX) today.
It's currently #3 on IMDb top 250.
I think I'm gonna see this at least 3 times in the cinema.
Ugh, the waiting is killing me.

my mind was blown seeing it in IMAX.
Truly a fascinating film but one I'm going to have a see a couple more times to really wrap my head around.
Saw it last night! Was expecting a bit more action but nonetheless it's a very very solid movie. Jospeh Gordon Leavitt was so bad ass.
if you've actually seen the movie, read this article. it drastically changed what i thought actually was happening in the movie.

Yea, that's an interesting interpretation. One of many out there. I've read a few more that I think are better.
and hey, all signs point to you were right about Levitt playing the Riddler:

It's funny, even before the movie came out I thought that Leo in Inception looks like Christopher Nolan. You look at pictures of them on the set and they're dressed the same way and have the hair slicked back similarly. This seems to further suggest that theory. Bravo Nolan, bravo.

dude, you said it perfectly.
to me, the acting was rigid and determined. maybe along with the script everything just seemed over-analyzed and over-correct, if that makes sense?
it was a good movie overall but not a thought afterwards. i really feel like i understood everything about the movie, and im not too fond. wouldnt care to see it again.
the dreamscapes could have been soooooo much more. everything seemed rigid. the landscapes were not there. i see absolutely no resemblance with kubrick.
but a nice movie, well thought out and executed.
61/2 out of 10
If anyone wants their mind blown some more by the movie, watch the following video. Obviously not for those that haven't seen the movie.
Inception Music Comparison (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVkQ0C4qDvM&feature=player_embedded#)
also, coincidentally, the beautiful Marion Cotillard won the best actress Oscar for playing Edith Piaf. and the musical cue was intentional by Zimmer, even though Nolan supposedly didn't want to keep it in the film because the audience would be distracted. i saw this story on filmdrunk yesterday, so i can't take credit for this line, but this is hilarious:
QuoteOnly Christopher Nolan could overestimate his audience's intelligence so much that he'd worry that they could identify a Hans Zimmer musical cue as a super slowed-down version of a French song from 50 years ago, and THEN be distracted by the knowledge that said French song was sung by a woman who was portrayed by an actress who is also in Christopher Nolan's film. I got tired just typing that.
Meanwhile, in another part of the country, Michael Bay shouted, "MORE ROBOT PISS! I want this audience laughing, and we can't assume they weren't buying nachos during the scene where the minstrel bots hump Megan Fox's leg!"
http://filmdrunk.uproxx.com/2010/07/the-inception-music-is-really-just-other-music-slowed-down#more-31793 (http://filmdrunk.uproxx.com/2010/07/the-inception-music-is-really-just-other-music-slowed-down#more-31793)
What an extraordinary movie. My expectations were beyond fulfilled.
I don't really know what to say right now other than this is one of the few flawless movies I've ever seen. A piece of pure, original work.
THIS is really was cinema is all about. Can't wait to see it again.
10/10.
Beautiful.
lol i'm sorry but that's ridiculous...but it's cool, you seem to hype stuff up at the beginning and after time you become a lot more level-headed.
No, it's not ridiculous.
Nowadays, movies are either a remake or a sequel...or just complete shit. This was 100% original and nothing like it has been seen before. It practically consisted of all the elements that I love about movies. That, and it had some of the best actors working today.
I always get hyped when Nolan does a new movie since he haven't disappointed me with anything yet. Other than that, no, I don't get easily hyped. No need for smart ass comments just because it didn't live up to what you thought it was going to be.
hahaha ok. we'll just agree to disagree on this one.
flawless?
you cant be serious. you just cant
honestly, I think it really is close to flawless. Overall, it might be my favorite movie since Dark Knight (although Inglourious Basterds is up there too). I'm with Theis all the way with this movie, and would even put it higher than Memento, which seems to be the film I've seen people compare it to. The Christopher Nolan dick-sucking is totally justified.
And Theis, did you read that article I posted several days ago? I'm interested if your theories are different, as that article changed how I looked at some of the scenes and even overall theme.
