Hey guys,
What are your favourite screams of Chino? What show, which song, which part of that song?
I am a huge fan of WGTB because of Chino's incredible vocals. For me, the Melkweg Amsterdam 2010 version of that song contains some crisp, fierce screams on the lines 'in case we ever do meet again'. ;D
I think this thread has been done before but mine are the end of bloody cape, the end of royal from the trees webcast and the end of rats! I think that last one doesn't get enough credit. I guess I just like when the song ends on a high note... Literally.
dai the flu
Last scream of Around the Fur. So raw and visceral.
His vox on Knife Party have always stood out for me, especially that bit where it slows down and he does all those really high lengthy oo's and ah's. Pretty dashed impressive.

That is a girl named Rodleen, not Chino. Chino is just moaning in the background.

+ 1 Oh, and KOREA!!!! ;D (alternately, my favorite Deftones' track)
My favorite screams of each album:
Birthmark
Around the fur
Korea
Bloddy Cape
Rats!
Royal
Rats! Rats! Rats! ends of with a legendary scream.
It's got the perfect amount of reverb on it so when he takes a breathe right after it sounds like he's got blood in his mouth.
2:25 on... :D

100%.
Gtta say after jamming ATF today, I will say Korea was my answer only bc I favor it as a song, I've realized. ATF has the deepest screams to me, but I really can't choose in this category. Can't do it man.
"Bloody Cape" on Late Night with Carson Daly was incredible as far as live performances are concerned.
As for studio albums, Chino's screams were incredible on:
"Hexagram"
"Pins and Needles"
"Rats! Rats! Rats!"
"When Girls Telephone Boys"
"Korea"
"Bloody Cape"
Guys I have a new favourite.
It's one of the last screams during Birthmark on the Switzerland 23-06-2010 show. So intense, he gives everything on that one!
Definitely, at the end of "Bored" poor guy sounds like he is going to blow his vocal chords out. Nothing but amazing from our Chino.
I've always loved the screams at the finish of this particular performance.

And most people on here say Chino was lazy or half assed on the ST album. Best record in my opinion. Good call
im starting to like st more and more. more than atf. maybe...
The scream on hexagram when he says "i trust everyone quicker with every faint smile!"
When he screams "smile", its like you can LITERALLY hear his vocal cords shredding.
The craziest scream i think i've ever heard in my life. period.

if you listen to the live version of hexagram on the hole in the earth single, you can litterally here the blood seeping out the soft tissue of his vocal chords, it is quite something.
seriously though, i know what you mean, great example of the post Adren and ATF chino scream. Almost a hybrid of the later pig squeal screams.

That's because the guy was as sick as a dog, mostly.
don't like that version at all, the guitar is all muffled out

I did the day I picked it up, and stared at the cover. They day it was released as a matter of fact after listening to WP for 3 or so years and digging it more than Adrenaline. That's when I knew they were special and I could stay unconditionally (almost) loyal to this group of artists forever perhaps. I was even quicker to get to my sound system in my ride at the time to hear it when I realized the familiar "fur circle" or whatever it is on Adren and ATF
wasn't there AGAIN!!! Stupid reason, but it was a nostalgic moment that I remember having the same feeling when I peeled open my special edition WP. And both records were better to me than the first 2. AAAH, it's the little things in life that create good memories and especially Deftones records. All the rumors and throwoffs they bring to us.. Oh! Think I may have said this but ST definately has the most brutal screaming and almost seemed part of a theme to me on the record. He was not happy with his life then either. I scream too when moody ::)
royal.........hands down
