If I remember correctly, the leak version had a Back To School demo on it, right? Making the whole story of the band writing the song post release, forced by the disk company, sound like a lie.

They got the timeline wrong but it was definitely recorded later than the rest of the songs. It's the one song on the leaked version that clearly hadn't yet been properly mixed and polished up — the intro, from memory, was also about twice as long — and Chino's voice does sound a bit different to the rest of the songs.
I think the story is likely more-or-less true but that it took place when they'd initially handed in the album, not after it came out.
