after seeing lollercoaster post and tell us all how unfunny we are i was wondering if he'd ever actually show us what funny truly means. i guess he was just waiting for it to build up. he's finally showed us what it is and i for one am thankful. i've done my best to interpret the meaning behind the meaning and this is what i've come up with:
funny means going back 20 pages of threads to topics that haven't been posted in in about 9 months and saying something in "l33t" speak as to make fun of it a lot later, and then clogging up the front page with old topics of no relevance.
also, funny means making topics with one word titles mocking everyone on the board.

it has its moments. letter things is awesome, the slide guitar is so unique for their style of music. you will not be welcomed is a great, textbook PTW song. however, as far as i'm concerned you come before you is a masterpiece, it's their white pony-very experimental and with an amazing outcome and this one is more like their self-titled, which follows cue, because it's their fourth album. it has kind of an unfinished feel which i attribute to their constant member changes. i think for this album they only had a guitarist, the drummer and the vocalist? that doesn't help, but i haven't given it that many listens yet as i'm waiting for it to actually be released.
i don't know if you heard those demos that were leaked a while back, i was hoping 'oceanbreast' would be on the final cut.

It's not like Maiden are the core of Deftones influences though, Steph's riffs and song structures are nothing like Maidens way of doing things, Chino's singing is nothing like Maidens.
They aren't a huge influence on the band, They're probably a slight influence to Steph but he's always mentioned Slayer, Sabbath, Metallica over Maiden (Even though Slayer, Tallica are next generation to Sabbath and Maiden)
LISTEN to the songs man, There isn't a touch of Maiden in them apart from the heavy distorted guitars.
I can't stand Iron Maiden, but i LOVE metal. I have the utmost respect for them though since they paved the way for most metal bands i love.
Like fuck does it mean i have bad taste in music, Same with ToneDef.
