Crooks input was terrible. Fucking terrible. His beats are repetitive as fuck and sounded awful. The entire albums production was weak IMO.
Also, Robs vocals: Bland as fuck.

Princeton Review is ok I guess, but it has Rob Crowes vocals on.. So that lets it down. His voice is just so boring.
And nah, Crooks parts for me were basially one type of sound spread all over the album. It's a good sound, but not after you hear it on more than a few songs.
I'm not a big fan of Princeton Review, either. It really lacks a special element that makes it worth listening to, so when it comes on, I don't care to skip it.
By listening to Team Sleeps new song "Jaguar", something tells me the next album will be much darker than the last.

Deftones are planning on releasing a new one in '08, and things seem to be going good so far, but you never know. They've been documenting the process at www.deftonesinstudio.blogspot.com
As for TS, Chino said they won't come out with another album until 2010. However, Todd has been updating www.teamsleep.net (which is currently down) with new songs, remastered demos, videos, etc.

I disagree, I feel that Rick and Zach are the strongest songwriters in the group though Zach hasn't written that much (that we've heard) for team sleep, Todd and Crook tend to be more concerned with experimenting and finding new and different ways to create sounds. Clearly, without Chino, the Team is still 4/5 there.
chino wasnt supposed to be a big part of the new album is what they said after the self titled tour
I think rick is seriously the weakest link in the group. There are many times when listening to self-titled that the bass just seems limp and uninspired, and I can imagine how a more inventive or technical bassist would drastically improve some of the songs. I also tend to think that this project suits Rob Crowe vocal style more than Chino's if they continue the trend of the last album. Not to say I dislike all of Chino's contributions (I think WWI and the leaked 2001 demos are amazing) but I wish chino and rob (if he is to ever work with Team Sleep again) would find a way to better blend their voices, or harmonize with each other, or something.

anyway nowadays he could take a portastudio with him and record during his time off in the hotel & things like that. Dustin from thrice released an acoustic solo record in that circunstances. Hell, he could even record the electric guitars too with all the technology that exist nowadays. He can record the sound he likes as a reference and the line, and then get the Line reamped in the studio.

Well we could see something from Team Sleep after deftones put out their new record, embark on a tour to support it and if Chino feels like getting something going with Todd.
i'm sooo content with Crosses right now I could care less at this point.
Im starting to really enjoy crosses but I'd rather have a new TS record than the rest of the EP's...
For now, those some, 50+ demos they've recorded have kept me busy for a while
But I'd always love to see a finished version of those because they tend to change their songs a lot from the beginning to the final version, but some new stuff would be even better
crosses doesn't hold a candle to TS.. bermuda locket has a cool melody and beat but it isn't mind-blowingly epic like the team sleep album

I love the Crosses eps, but this is a valid statement.
The first Team Sleep album is far from being mind-blowingly epic. I really like a lot of it but it's not THAT great.

Most certainly is. I feel a lot more from listening to the ambience of TS, however the songwriting on the two Crosses EPs are some of my favorite lyrics that Chino has ever wrote.
I love Option. Chino sounds so great and full of passion on that one. And some very interesting lyrics.

i think its just progress and growth on Chino's part, he's learned new ways to write and has developed HIS own way of making music aside from all the deftones stuff he's done, in the early years he was more or less sequestered away in the "deftones area", but now as technology and and stuff has advanced (not mention getting older and garnering wisdom)he can do more of what he likes musicly; and though they seems to be two different styles TS and crosses are in fact both a part of Chino's signature style of musical genius-just and two different points in time.

team sleep has adorable little tracks you can fall in love with.
crosses sounds like polished mainstream crap that could easily fit into the soundtrack of a twilight movie.

I agree about Rob Crowe. I'm not a big fan of his voice or style, or something. And I think the production should be different/better for Crosses. That's something that takes it down a bit for me I think but I really like some of the 2 EPs.

Those demos are priceless. I completely agree that the album ended up being meh compared to the material we heard that leaked. Makes me wonder how much of the deftones stuff is really bad ass in demo form but comes across as over produced or too thought out on the record.
Well, the "Unmastered" CD from Team Sleep was good, i wish that Ice Ache, Acoustic One, Kool Aid Party and Death By Plane made it to the selftitled... They were such good and atmospheric songs.
From their new demos (Tenisface, Formant, Liberace and others), i hope that they use some songs... Like Tennisface, it's so "retro" for me, like when i was younger and i ran to my house only to play Super Mario or old games from SNES (i think that it's because of the piano)

Looks like it, I'm just glad to finally get something solid for years they've said they will work together again but there's been no real signs that it would actually happen. I'm just stoked these guys are going to be making music together their unique chemistry can't really be replicated by any other band so there's been no way to satisfy that team sleep craving, as a guitar player aswell I'm really excited to hear more from Todd his style really appeals to me it's like that unique self taught thing where he's not huge on music theory and goes on feel, he ends up with these really hynoptic and beautiful riffs. It's also pretty cool to see a guy who was essentially a bedroom player being succesful with his own style.

In 2005 as their self titled album came out, they did a world tour, mostly played in clubs but also on festivals, and in 2007 they did a small US- club tour.
And for now we have to wait and see whats coming, hopefully they come to Europe :)!
