Title: Devil Sold His Soul
Post by: Martin on Jun 05, 2007, 06:28 PM
Great alternative metalband from the UK. Have an EP out ('Darkness Prevails') and an album coming up ('A Fragile Hope').
They have a couple of songs on their My Space (http://www.myspace.com/devilsoldhissoul) (check out the new single 'Between Two Words' and another new track 'As The Storm Unfolds').
Band was formed out if the ashes of Mahumodo.

Awesome band. Awesome music.

Great live band! It's a shame that everytime I've seen them, about 5 other people have been in the room with me... They deserve to be big!

great song, crappy video.

I don't understand why they make these lame radio edits of good songs. there are at least two songs on the album at 4-5 minutes length that'd make just as good videos as the two they've made so far.

Radio edits are always lame. The whole 3 minute-and-something mark, I'm sure it works well in some ways, the whole psychological thing, but I'd much rather have the full song as a single. Allthough I dig the Between Two Words single mix as well as the long version.
Maybe the shorter songs on there are a little to hard for the radio/music television things?

Ow well.

Just seen the band twice in the Netherlands, both times a little misplaced between hardcore/metalcore bands. Nonetheless good shows, good music made by good people.

They have written their second album and are ready to record.
They've released one new track called Crane Lake on a split 7"Inch with Tortuga. Freiwald has upped the track. It's a beauty and even more so on the actual vinyl.

they sound black metalish

The name? Yeah, they kinda do.
The sound however is not. More like, posthardcore with some progressive elements.

I was thinking about the video "starting".

And the name is not b-metalish; the names of most black metal bands are crappy.

True, but there's a lot of death and blood and devils in those names.
The Starting is cool and cruel vid.

when is it supposed to be out and have they released a name for it?

i love this band. all i have is A Fragile Hope but it's tight.

Don't know exactly, all I know is that they're ready to begin recording. No name either. They do play a couple of new tracks, who are also nameless at the moment, during live shows.

A Fragile Hope is great indeed, definitely one of my favorite records. The Darkness Prevails EP is cool to, you get a re-released version which comes with bonus tracks (demos and a remix) and a DVD here (http://dshs.bigcartel.com/).
