the guy just asked a simple question..why don't you guys stop acting like a bunch of dicks.
he could have go to the download thread or the streaming videos thread, they're sticky for a reason. That wasnt a good way to reply tho.

moana is great.

moana is great.
I agree. its like a longer version of your skull is red :P
Never got into it, Chino's annoying singing turned me off.
Moana..
i love moana and rats rats rats... if i had to choose... I dislike street carp.... :(
Altho I've never been keen on Rats Rats Rats (it was definitely a grower) it is no where near as bad as the Idiot Pilot version of Teenager. I think I've maybe listened to that song maybe 4times. It's awful and completely out of tune. It shouldn't have made it onto the BSides album.
It was... different.
As for Rats! I love it as a Deftones fan, but I guess parts do not fit - I imagine that would bemuse someone who's not use to them. In away the song sounds like it's "insert token heavy bit here" with regards to the breakdown and the chorus sounds slightly out of place. Still great tune though - love the intro.
i always thought steph was going for a meshuggah-like sound on this song...totally made sense to me

i loveee rats rats rats... awesome drumming
Hahah it wasn't that bad..Bad enough for steph to go back in the studio and rewrite the parts into Melanie...
Nice bump. I love Rats!
That scream at the end of Mouse Mouse Mouse = monster.
I like the alternate Teenager version...
Very underrated song on the deftones catalog!
I dig rats!rats!rats! but Melanie takes the punch
Easily in my top 10 songs by Deftones
The alternate version of "Teenager" is great. I like it just as much as the original. "Rats" would be better without Chino's screaming, however. Totally ruins the song.

Dude, his screams in this song are unreal. Rats is more in the same vein like say a Converge or Dillinger Escape Plan song. I think you have to be familiar and used to the the harsh sound of those bands I mentioned before you can fully appreciate Rats, though.

I'm familiar with those groups and harsh music in general. Meshuggah fan here. But screaming "DECIDE!" over and over in the most annoying pitch isn't my kind of thing. I don't know. "When Girls Telephone Boys" is probably my favorite Deftones track, so it's not like I have anything against their heavier material.

Let me guess you're one of those scrubs who doesn't like Hexagram either?

I was just generalizing. I just got the feeling that some people complaining about Rats don't listen to music with this level of intensity in general and therefore shouldn't be the judge here.

"Hexagram" is outstanding. Not one of my favorites off the self-titled record, but still a great song.
Again. I love the heavier Deftones material and might even prefer it over their calmer stuff. I mentioned WGTB. "Engine No. 9" and "Around the Fur" are two other favorites. Sorry, but his piercing screams in "Rats" sound forced. Just my opinion.

I agree, I like the song except for the whole "decide!!" thought it was pretty uninspired and repetitive... musically the songs is pretty damn cool though I must say, vocals are definitely kind of lacking on that one...
The screams, the drum, the final inhale scream, a fucking good song to me.
