Instrument wise it would remain as good but, do you see chino singing songs like hexagram then? ;D

I honestly don't see Chino's voice holding up for very much longer should he keep up his current path (lots of drinking and drugs and not warming up before shows). The guy seriously needs to see a voice coach and cut out the hard life before he completely screws up his throat (more so than it already is).
in 20 years they will be in their mid 50s...i dont see them being the rolling stones, but who knows. maybe chino will lipsynch all the songs ;D
In 20 years, there is no deftones

how do you know he doesn't take care of his voice?. I heard he uses a technique to harm it the least possible.

How do I know? Because it's obvious. I'm a singer too and I know that he doesn't warm up before shows (I believe Chi said something about Chino never warming up) and it's incredibly important as a vocalist. The guy also smokes, drinks, and does drugs which are all terrible for your throat. Ever notice how he sounds completely different between ATF and White Pony? It's because he nearly destroyed his throat in between those albums.
as much as i love the deftones, i honestly don't think they'll still be around in 20 years.
maybe chino'll have a voice box in 20 years and it'll sound like that dude from south park is singing all the songs.

Interesting. I had never noticed that his voice from adrenaline/atf is really different to the one on wp until now.
PD: Sorry for double post.
in 20 years me and my pal Chino will be smoking a lot of weed in Hawaii
nah I think Chino's throat will be pretty fucked up then, so no more deftones...
they will be like....metallica.
kings and queens.
Skeletons.

There won't be Deftones.... I rather see them not playing than playing shit music like metallica.

QFT.
I know the Rolling Stones deserve their props, I'm sure everyone can pretty much agree to that, but they need to just stop already. They are the perfect example (along with Metallica and even Bon Jovi) of what I hope the Deftones
DON'T try to do in 20 years.
I don't think Chino's voice would hold out either. Someone mentioned the difference between his voice in ATF and WP, aside from that his voice in almost all of SNW has a different sound to it as well from what I can tell. Aging, drinking, smoking and drugs do nothing but speed up the process of screwing up your vocal cords.
I rather them do a couple more albums and just go out on top. I want to remember them at their best, not see them messing it all up by trying to relive their "glory days". But that's just me.
dead and broke are the first two words that come to mind. If you actually think the deftones will be around in 20 year you're a moron
Abe: oversized family guy
Chi: suffering hepatic cirrhosis
Chino: speed overdose survivor
Stephen: successful record producer
Frank: gone missing in the Bermuda Triangle
are you trying to sound smart by saying hepatic cirrhosis instead of liver failure, or liver scaring? I mean you know most people dont know what that means.
I didn't know that, but thanks for noticing. If anybody cares, just open a new window in your browser and, like, search for it in google or something... if you don't think the internet will provide you with a couple of answers, you're a moron.

haha! thats a knee slapper.
20 years from now, chino will be the only original member left and this board is disscussing when, after years of waiting, "chino's democracy" will finally come out.
Hahhaahahah, bermuda's triangle, chino's democracy...good shit.

Personally i think Deftones WILL be around in 20 years.
they have a sound that doesnt need to be heavy,..they can mellow it out with age.

If you think the phrase "hepatic cirrhosis" is a commonly know term outside the medical community, you're a cock.

chino's voice isn't bad. on CD it sound flawless, live he may need some improvement but it still kicks more ass than johnathan davis' voice

I wasn't trying to sound smart or... cock-like... it's just that an uncle of mine died of hepatic cirrhosis some years ago, so I got familiarized with the term. Peace.
Hopefully retired from the game with class! One more album plus Eros and b-sides & rarities 2 Il be good with that! ;D
Its crazy how much shit has happened since this tread started! ???
I think that they will still be able to pull it off. Will Chino be singing Kimdracula at every show? No, but they will still make it work with the 100 or so songs (and counting) that they have in their catalogue. Why would you want them to not play with each other? Isn't that the whole point of being a fan of them?
Maybe Chino could try again whisperings, one scream here and there, and sing some classic stuff during live shows, dunno, it's been 7 years since this thread started and they are still great live/in studio.
