I dont actually believe he lied about WMD. Saying he lied about the elections is just stupid, and you know it. I dont consider water boarding torture. And if you do, maybe you should take a stand for the hundreds of US military members that get water boarded every week at SERE school. I dont really know enought about the US attorneys or Patriot Act to respond. But im sure there are two sides to that story too
Bush is not perfect by any means. But people really are way harder on him than they should be. And people also do make up some pretty fantastic stories about him too.

Well the administration certainly picked and choosed their intelligence for their WMD case, as was seen after the fact. i watched powells testimony before the UN and was convinced of the WMD threat at the time. hindsight is 20/20, but it was clear that omissions were made as far as intelligence. as for the elections, i live in Ohio and our secretary of state and the GOP politicians did some really shady things with the results of the last election, like not count all the votes. he stated that all the provisional ballots and the absentee ballots would not have made a difference and had them destroyed before anyone could know for sure. so yeah, you could argue bush has plausible denialibility but i dont buy it for a minute.

Did it ever occur to you that perhaps Saddam is the one that was lying and making the illusions? The man had a tough job. It was not easy to keep his thrown (as we are now experiencing first hand). Perhaps, he wanted his neighbors to think that he had WMD so that they would fear him. Perhaps he wanted the world to think he had WMD so that we would respect him more. Maybe, Bush really did believe that Saddam had WMD. I mean he was in fact not the only one to think so. In fact at the time, most of the NATO and ISAF countries did believe Saddam to have WMD. I even remember reading a quote from the prime minister of france (no sorry I cant find it right now) where he said that he believed with all of his heart that Saddam did have WMD but was hoping for a more peaceful resolution. Sooooo, it was not only bush.
And I am sure that there are plenty of conspiricy theories that you can find (depending on exactly what it is you are looking for) about elections and all that. But just because some no body rigged an election in Ohio, doesn't mean that Bush got away with doing it in a presidental election. Or, maybe he did. Either way, If you are not cheating, you are not trying. And thats a fact. Gore and Kerry were probably trying to do the same, just not as successfully.

Good point. In my oppinion this is where the enitre "war on terror" started. Many many moons ago. There have been a couple men in the seat of the white house since Bin Laden came to power and wanted US troops removed from the holy land. And I think most people forget that 911 was not even close to Bin Ladens first attack. So at least we can spread the blame there a bit. But what to do? removal of troops from Sadi seems like a good start. but it is probably too late now anyways.

Bin Laden was born in Saudi yes. And because disgruntled with the government because he thought it was weak. But his real rise to power came when he was more or less a mujahadene during the soviet invasion of afghanistan. He was pretty much a recruiter. So when you came to afghanistan to fight the russians, the person who met you was Osama Bin Laden. And he wrote your name down in "the base" or "al qaeda" The base was just a list of muslim men who were willing to fight for islamic nations against foreign governments. That is where he got most of his reputation and power. I mean it didnt hurt that his family was very wealthy. But a reputation goes a long way out here.
When Iraq invaded Kuait, Bin Laden wanted to use "the base" to fight Saddam (really no one believed him to be a good muslim). Bin Laden went to saudi to try and convince them not to let the US come to fight a war he believed to be for islam , but let his muslim brothers do the fighting instead. But saudi, for one reason or another, thought it best for the US to fight. So that made him even more disgruntled with his home government.
Then, the US never left Saudi. And this was a major insult to the entire religion of Islam because non believers were right there in the holy land ( something the US really didnt understand, because....well....why the fuck should we care what a bunch of sand niggers think? right?) So that was in many ways what set Al Qaedas sights on the US. And after everything that has happened, we are still there.......

My point is simply that all the worlds problems are not due to George W. Bush. But so, so many people like to act like they are. The man is not perfect, at all. But he is not as stupid as people would like to believe either. And you can list all of his shot comings all day. But in the end, he was elected as leader of the free world, twice. That trumps everything you got.

Right I mean if it were me I probably would have left the class right away and gone to see what I could do. But when I really think about it, what could he have actually done? There are so many levels of staff that the US government has in place to handle things like this that really have nothing to do with the president. And at the time, im not even sure if they knew it was a terrorist attack, or just some drunk pilot ( I just remember watching the news and it was not clear, maybe that was just me) I know I sound like I am defending his every move. I really dont love bush as much as I come off to. But I just dont think he deserves all the shit that he takes.

you know what man. Being 100% serious for a second. Afghan women are beautiful. It is rare that you actually get to see one as afghanistan is the only country that I know of that makes their women wear the full body and face burka. However they are a bit more liberal in Kabul and you will see maybe 1 out of 10 women with out them. And seriously, very , very good looking women. There is a nomatic tribe out here called the kuchi. Their women dont really pay too much attention to the burka either. But they are ass ugly. Its a shame. But if you are lucky enough to actually see an afghan woman....its a treat. (in a total non creepy way)
