saw this movie tonight. I was pretty entertained. Of course it was totally over the top. But what else would you expect? Robert Downey JR. did better than I would have thought too.

sorry. i really enjoyed it, one of the few good movies ive seen in 2008.
it was awesome seeing Jeff Bridges as a bad guy too. then seeing rhodes look at the war machine outfit near the end was cool
hopefully the sequel has War Machine and more S.H.I.E.L.D.
yeah I never even heard of Iron man until this movie. So I didn't get all those little things from it. But they for sure set it up for an easy sequel.
I liked the afghanistan setting too. The opening scene was in Kunar, that's where I spent 4 months this winter. And they did a pretty good job likeness of the Afghanistan National Army. It was just kind of cool to me.
and I wont speak specifics, but I loved the ending.

i thought the movie was kinda meh. it had its really cool moments, but the story was lacking just a tad.
robert downey jr. was great though; one of my favorite actors, along with the always charming and brilliant jeff bridges.
I agree that the story was a bit lacking. But it the cool - funny parts of the movie made up for all that.

Cheadle is a good actor, but I agree that the role would have been more fitting for terrance howard, or even the dude who played spawn.

well, in my mind it is. the story is one of the most predictable I've ever seen in a movie. and all the high-tech stuff was just silly. Guys guys you're breaking my balls. Stay on topic. Discuss Don Cheadle vs. Terrence Howard. I hate it when they break discontinuity with main characters. At that point you feel like the purpose of the movie is more of a business process instead of a creative, artistic process in which they give what the fans want. From what I've heard it sounds like Favreu and Downey Jr. were upset that Marvel decided to set a date for Iron Man 2 before even talking with them. As it stands, Iron Man 2 does not seem to be progressing very well.
I agree with anemic it wasn't that great of a movie for the most part, but Downey Jr. was too entertaining to completely hate it. He saved that movie, but a franchise does have potential. But wiith poor decisions from the studio it looks like this franchise may sink rather quickly.

azweetoddweiz thinks his movie taste is irrefutable only 'cause a few sharinglungs polesmokers told him he had some.
pretty sad considering he finds will ferrell funny, which pretty much not only makes your opinion on movies void, but just void in general about everything.
will ferrell is pretty funny, his style got old quick though, mainly cuz he was in to many movies to close together, and other people copy his style.
will ferrell is usually somewhat funny when he isn't the main character.
