Yeah man, in my second year now doing a PhD in theoretical physics at the University of Hull (y'know that team that just got into the Premiership), lovin' it! That takes up a lot of my time to be honest, I am now single though after a terrible breakup from a 2 1/2 year relationship, but I am actually enjoying myself now, so things are looking up. Looking forward to being Dr Law though haha!

How are you man?

Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: Jacob on Jan 25, 2010, 12:55 PM
I've also put on weight, but it is not exactly evenly distributed... it's all around my belly and ass. so my old flat sexy belly is gone, but my ass looks much better these days. I can finally wear a pair of jeans with style.

so I'm like a brother to you? hm. I guess you're kind of a slightly older sister to me. but with no blood ties. so it's ok for me to find you attractive.

you won't be jealous when you hear about what i make him do. i made him swim in a ditch with me the other day. i'm still hung up on the last guy i liked and i don't think it was right for me to start seeing anyone until i got over my feelings for him. i think i'm the only person who gets absolutely no pleasure in dating and being in a relationship.

So in the mean time, swim in those ditches!
Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: blixa on Jan 26, 2010, 01:16 PM
he's very perceptive. he knows i'm not really into it but that just makes him more clingy. if there's anything i hate, it's clingy men. if i'm standing there making coffee, i don't want them to come over and wrap their arms around me. i don't always like to be touched. with the last guy i liked, and the one i'm still hung over a little, i always wanted to be around him. not necessarily a sexual thing. i actually never thought about him sexually, which is how i know i really like someone. i never told him how i felt. i was scared of how i felt for him 96% of the time and have been waiting for it to 'go away' for a while now.

nicholas, the guy i'm hanging out with now, is really cool. he's more my type - tall, thin, scruffy looking, tatts, looks like a white boy but is actually half asian.

my dad suggested that i don't think about men and 'courting' till i'm in my thirties hahaha
Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: Law on Jan 30, 2010, 10:44 PM

Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: blixa on Jan 31, 2010, 12:24 PM
i used to believe in sex after marriage as well but i found out along the years that it's bullshit. it's mostly just women doing it because they think it's a 'gift' because society and religion has taught them that. i can't help but think men made this up so that they can fuck whomever they please then marry a virgin. it makes me so angry. someone should want to marry your brain, not your virginity.

Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: blixa on Feb 01, 2010, 12:25 PM
so true. most of us here aren't who we are in person. when i was at the team sleep gig a few years ago, i came back to find private messages in my inbox from three people who had seen me there. one guy was even behind me throughout the whole gig and he was recounting to me my conversation with my two mates who i was there with. it was weird but he said that i was a lot more timid and well spoken than he expected me to be hahaha, another was telling me how hot i was when i told him to fuck off when he approached me. bede (feeling like more) was there and i saw him but i didn't want to weird him out by going up to him plus i wasn't sure it was him although it looked exactly like him. i always feel weird at deftones/team sleep related things because this board has been the only one i've been constant with the most. i've only been a member of three boards: this one, ani difranco (which got deleted a few years ago), and a nick cave and the bad seeds one, which i'm still a member of because i know most of the members there from real life.

but a batcave sounds really nice.

Got back from LA. Had a great time. Some weird instances though, namely with another chick of whom I got along with really well with (who was married but that didn't seem to stop her too much) then having to leave and feeling quite melon colie about the whole thing, sometimes things just don't go your way. hmmmm

i'm sorry, didn't we have a reputation for being big drinkers. it's not even a stereotype. you know what the brits do here? they have three beers and go for a swim in bondi then they get screwed and next thing you know, there's a helicopter flying around in the middle of the night and all you can do is curse that particular pom for being too soft after THREE BEERS.

edit: plus, our beer is not as light as all the other beer elsewhere.

but they did this survery where 70% of men said women who wear glasses are sexier so hey, something should happen for me soon. i'm totally ditching you and adam if a hot irish/scottish guy comes to chat me up.

well then, I and Adam surely cannot hang out together if you leave us just right there
cause well - there's some scoring to do!

but actually, only like 4% of irish chicks are at least CLOSE to looking hot. I guess it's the mcdonalds generation thing
yes, I made up the number just to prove a point here

so yes, you'd probably score some, cause irish guys are okay I guess (well the better looking ones are clearly taking up more than 4% of the population), and me and Adam will just end up playing stupid drinking games just to pass the time.

I'll put the boat out there, you can learn any physics you want... it's not too hard to be honest... once you understand the notation i.e. accept that it is another language, then you're fine.

Or we could just make sweet love that'd be fine by me. And eat nachos.

Sounds good to me, I like a jolly like that, as long as there is moderate sunshine or extreme bleakness.

LP 5 months is way too short a time to organise a celebrity like me! Kidding, yeah not a problem haha.

Post by: lostpilot on Apr 01, 2010, 01:54 PM
I'm a gemini, may 25.

I am borderline-believer when it comes to astrology.
I do believe that stars have some sort of power to determine your personality (not whole of it - then self-development through the causality in life would be meaningless), but I really do not believe in those daily horoscopes.

though, I had this situation now - I've read a yearly horoscope, and it said, that this year will be very prosperous for me, in form of "career" or "work". Since I am a musician and finishing a new album (which in my head is kinda the best music I've ever done), this gives me some (false?) hope over things. I start believing shit.. :)

edit: by the way, typical gemini profile kinda fits me

may 25 people are fighters. they may be devoted to protecting a cause, an idea, their country or family. yet in no way are they archaic or conservative in their beliefs, remaining up to date in their attitude toward the world. those born on this day value money, clothes, all the outward trappings of life, yet understand that they are merely the facade of a deeper spiritual life within.

the book goes on a bit more. it's really thick and it doesn't read like a normal astrology book. it's quite in depth about the personalities and characteristics of individuals born under each day.

well, many people would say "yeah this is the generalized truth", but it does say true things about me. I know the book would not fit me 100%, but I believe there are some minor characteristics and connotations that only fit me.

by the way - it's crazy how I am friends with this one girl (the one that pretty much inspired me to go to Turkey with Erasmus, she's now there, studying the same thing I will study later this year), she is also born on 25th May, and we are VERY alike. I mean, I know a lot of geminis, but me and her are the closest match when it comes to personality :)
Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: blixa on Apr 02, 2010, 10:36 AM
it goes on to day:

since those born on this day are attuned to the rhythms of the world around them, they are able to survive social change, sometimes going with the flow, sometimes removing themselves. their friends and family will find that they are charming and agreeable only to a point, however. they will never compromise their opinions, even if it makes them unpopular.

they are philosophically oriented. they have clear ideas on a wide variety of subjects, and those ideas are usually part of a larger, more universal code. this may be a code of conduct or belief, or both. not only do those born on may 25 hold themselves to this standard, but may expect everyone else to follow it as well. those born on this day can be extremely unforgiving to those who cross the lines of decency. honour and personal responsibility are immensely important to them, and their expectations are correspondingly high. they must learn, however, to be more forgiving and tolerant in their treatment of others.

Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: blixa on Apr 02, 2010, 11:16 AM
mine is exact word for word. that's why this book freaks me out. plus astrology was something that came out of mesopotamia and its people, whom i am a direct descendent from.

i guess i can understand why some people think it's bullshit because the most common form of astrology nowadays is the one in the papers and magazines. if you went to a proper astrologer and they drew up your chart, it would be different.
Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: lostpilot on Apr 02, 2010, 11:19 AM
I remember doing this star chart thing online, with exact date birth (hour-like), place etc.
There was really a lot of truth in the results I got (that was like, what, some 2000 words or something. A really big report back, with how every planet affects my personality). and what's fun that in that report it's not just the, you know, "general" qualities of a person; that was some really specific inner nature stuff. And it was kinda great.

is there any possibility of you posting everything about may 25 somewhere, lol, you got me really interested. I like reading about myself - it sort of induces self-reflection as a personality.

it goes on:

may 25 people are not just mentally orientated, but markedly physical as well. unfortunately, their emotional side may be a bit repressed or, if damaged in childhood, severely blocked. they value affection but find it both difficult to express and accept. since their self-trust is not the highest, they may also be loath to trust others. whatever they do - be it art, sport, sex, or work - is beautifully crafted or executed, but unfortunately can also lack feeling. indeed, some born on this day take pride in themselves as cool personalities who are not given to displays of emotion.

what those born on may 25 must constantly fight is their fear of rejection. learning to be less fearful in general is important for them, no matter how forceful they may seem on the outside. building a foundation of self-confidence, perhaps slowly over the years, will guarantee them success in the world and keep them from sabotaging their own plans. those born on this day must find a way to live by their code of ethics without paralysing themselves in introspection or self criticism; their ideals should find expression in pragmatic ways. otherwise, may 25 people run the danger of becoming unrealistic about what they believe, and a bit out of touch with their true needs.

Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: blixa on Apr 02, 2010, 01:30 PM
also:

those born on the 25th of the month are defined by the number 7 and by the planet neptune. because neptune is the watery planet ruling visions, dreams and psychic phenomena, losing touch with reality poses a danger, particularly as far as the feelings of others are concerned. those ruled by the number 7 traditionally like change and travel, and this causes no conflicts for may 25 people, who generally enjoy a frequent change of scene (underlined by mercury's rulership of gemini).

hahahaha

those born on the 16th of june know how to capitalise on their investments. the words "capitalise" and "investment" suggest money, but can also serve as metaphors for other areas (career, family) into which those born on this day put their energies. even if they are met with failure or stagnation, june 16 people usually manage to produce something positive from their projects or endevours, as they so often turn misfortunes to their advantage. in this respect they are true capitalists.

generally june 16 people choose their friends with great care. their intuitions are strong about those with whom they associate and they have a sixth sense for people who are trying to take advantage of them. certain june 16 people have very strongly developed psychic abilities and are interested in extra-sensory and spiritual studies. for them, there is no contradiction between the physical and the spiritual, the material and the metaphysical aspects of work. these june 16 people are at once practical and imaginative, and in touch with all worlds around them.

Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: blixa on Apr 04, 2010, 11:58 AM
those born on the 7th of february have a social vision and a desire to right existing inequalities. they are among the most idealistic people of the year, but can be mistaken for being harsh, ironic, even cynical by those who do not understand them. it is true that they are severely critical of life as it is, but not without an idea of what it could be. their efforts to live by their ideals, however, and hopes that others will also, are not always realistic.

those feb 7 people less openly critical are sometimes taken for being innocent or naive, primarily due to their natural air and youthful manner. indeed, they value greatly the sincerity of youth and seek to keep it alive in themselves. they generally believe that what is closest to divinity, nature or universal values is the best that there is.

kids, please motivate me. I'm dying here, lol
I have to give the first version of my coursework to my lecturer in less than a month and I haven't written anything yet, not a word.
the topic is not to bad - something along the lines on how the internet changed the independent music labels, and I have quite a lot of literature on it (pretty much everything I would need); I just need that kick to start things going.

Shit, I have so much work nowadays.
I have to finish the storybook for my new album; then me and my other band "slowattack" are planning to record our first and only album until summer, and there is a lot of work to be done in my university.

well, she pretty much dragged that out me, maybe because of my shitty mood today she kinda sensed something was wrong, so we just started to talk, and here we are. but in a way it's okay - I mean, she is really a smart girl and she said that it was not that much unexpected (I am a person which is really hard to be with in a relationship). so we just talked for a couple of hours, set things straight, told all the things we never told.

Of course, both her and I are kinda emotionally cracked at this moment, but it is nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. well, we're both adults and we will surely stay friends (with semi-awkward moments at start). so I guess it's all for the better.

when you said you were going to break up with her in 3 weeks i was a bit stunned, to be honest. i think if you know you will break up with someone it's never a good idea to postpone it. you should do it as soon as possible. putting the cracks aside, you must feel a lot better now that you've had the talk with her and it's done.

You're a lot more mature than me, I create way too much awkwardness in these sort of situations!

I'm glad you did it so soon, it wouldn't have been fair to her to just hold on and be in a relationship you don't want to be in. I would be furious out of my mind if I realized someone was planning to dump be for 3 weeks.

adam, it really doesn't have to be so awkward. it's only awkward when you decide to start casually sleeping with an ex...not that i'm doing that. the awkwardness of the whole thing would seriously fuck me up. actually, casual sex would seriously fuck me up.

and jacob, yes! i would be shitting bricks full of anger if someone had diary marked 'dumping mariam' day. i'm very happy that he did it. musicians are too emotional to put something like this off hahaha softies.

I have only made it awkward when I have been dumped, then I will act like a child in a similar manner to how House would do. Oh well, my maturity has no bounds. I have slept with ex's in the past, but not on many occasions at all, it's not something I try to do regularly as it does tend to screw with the parties involved.

I'd love to see these bricks of anger hahahaha

you know, the point of "three weeks into the future" was all about this one upcoming weekend with her and a couple of my friends.
we've been planning this weekend for months, and it means a lot to both me and her, and well - I just thought I'd stay in this for her, so she would enjoy that weekend as much as would want to, did not want to ruin that special weekend. but I'm glad we did this today.

all my lecturers are established artists, curators, and writers. my lecturer from last year, who i'm super close to, had andrew bird ask her if he could borrow one of her works as cover art for his record:

Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: lostpilot on Apr 11, 2010, 07:35 PM
well, I had some weird experiences lately (though I am not looking for anything serious now)

a) Our bands saxophonist, well, she is a real close friend of mine; and after that show I just went to say goodbye to her and just hug her; and while we were at that, we kinda finished the hug, and at that particular second my body thought it was perfectly natural to give her a kiss - while my brain said - dude, what, this can't be right. So I just had this intense weird moment and went away

b) There is this really nice girl from Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, about 120 km away. We've been friends for quite a while now, 4-5 years, and we've always been somewhat into one another, but after I broke up with my ex I started thinking a lot about her. A lot of dreams preceded. The content can only be available for 18+ people, lol
edit: by the way, she has same dreams about me, lol

Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: blixa on Apr 13, 2010, 02:18 PM
i don't really mean to do it. that's just how i react. i get really awkward and everytime i go to say something it comes out very wrong.

even when i start liking someone, there is never any intention on my part to act on those feelings and i almost never ever expect anything to happen. i just like them and it would take me a few months or years to get over them. i've never actually pursued or dated anyone i have had very strong feelings for because i'm too terrified to talk to them. the idea of someone knowing i like them is unappealing to me. it always feels like i'm exposing my weakness, especially if the guy i like is extremely good looking.

my ex-gf was taken to the hospital today due to sinus tachycardia, which was basically caused by stress of us breaking up, alcohol and lots of nicotine. I feel like shit now, cause this was directly my fault
Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: Jacob on Apr 13, 2010, 02:36 PM
it wasn't directly your fault. it was her own decision to do whatever she did after you broke up. so it might be because of you, but you're not to blame. sad to hear either way, I hope she's ok.

maz - I know what you mean and I'm kinda like that too. well, I used to be. I don't really have much of a problem talking to girls I find attractive anymore, but I still have a really hard time making any "moves" or showing interest at all. until a few weeks ago. when I have more time I'll tell you the entire story of the girl I've been seeing a few times now. my bravery will shock you just as it did me.
Title: Re: @Jambi

jacob's right, darius. you can't blame yourself. it would have been more damaging to the BOTH of you if you hadn't broken up because there is nothing fulfilling about a relationship that has run its course.

i. can't. do. it.

i know it's self-esteem issues too. my extended family only reflect their love in a cruel form at most times. i am told often that since i don't have the looks that i would have to be very smart and charming to find someone who will go out with me. i've tried to believe in myself but i always fall short on doing the full trot. i'm very masculine a lot of the time because learning to 'man up' was a way that i could deal with things. tell me your war stories hahaha i think i can learn something from them.

it's actually been a shitty couple of weeks. mum was in and out of hospital during easter and was in a lot of pain once she was home. she had an operation and she's still not completely alright. she doesn't get enough sleep because she's awake most of the night crying because she's in shitloads of pain, but sometimes she's okay. i hope she eventually gets better. i haven't been able to focus on uni work and i haven't started shooting for my honours work, which i'm hopefully starting this week.

anyway, that's a sob story and a half. what about you? any professors making indecent sexual proposals towards you?

Sorry to hear that, I hope she get's better soon so I send all my best wishes your way :) Don't worry about ranting, it's good to get it off your chest somehow. But anyway don't let your work fall behind, it's pretty hard to get back into the swing of things if you don't keep up with it from my experience.

I haven't had any Professors offering their services, damn. I am looking at a job in London at Imperial though...

On Saturday I went to a rock club and had a decent time, I definitely a light weight in comparison to my former self. Alas, I had a good badminton session yesterday, so good in fact that I broke a racket from smashing, nice.

Keep your chin up!

she's going for her second operation tomorrow. she's been feeling absolutely atrocious tonight. i made her some soup but she couldn't eat the noodles, only drank the liquid. she took some painkillers and she was telling me how she just wants to sleep because she's very tired. she can't sleep because of the pain and her pills take about two hours to kick in. it's complete and utter shit.

i can apply for a two year uk work visa in july. i have to make it to hackney at some point hahaha

he's sexy and most sexy people are at times pretentious knobs.

i lied. i rarely think about sex. it's the last thing on my mind and even then it doesn't even enter my mind.

i'm probably the most unsexual person someone can ever meet. i prefer to be fully clothed and lying next to someone in bed. i prefer that over almost a lot of other activities.

i'm a big fan of old fashioned sex too though. you know those few minutes where you lay there afterwards and you're both awake and you go, "hmmm" and it's a "hmmm" of content and then he goes and makes me some tea. it's nice. hasn't happened yet. no one thinks to make me a nice cup of tea.

there's this shop here called T2 and it is incredible. i think it's most definitely my favourite shop. they have amazing tea.

how do you take your tea?
Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: Law on Apr 21, 2010, 03:55 PM
Usually the Queens way, so with milk and no sugar, I'm sweet enough (cue the film Snatch).

Sometimes though I will have a herbal depending on if it's late but generally it's just bog standard tea and milk, like what I am having now. How about you? That shop sounds ace, one day maybe ;)

Post by: blixa on Apr 21, 2010, 04:15 PM
i usually drink tea black with no sugar. i also like french earl grey, vanilla rooibos and chai with milk. T2 is great because you can taste the tea before you buy anything.

here's the site:
www.t2tea.com/ (http://www.t2tea.com/)

you can find out what tea is most suitable to you by checking your zodiac on their site.

I'm back home, they released me today.
I feel like I am disabled, cause I cannot walk, talk, breathe or do anything else normally. The appendectomy scar is still very painful and I am really afraid to burst it out by doing something bad.

Nonetheless, I am giving myself a nice joint tonight, cause I deserve that.

Hospitals are fucking crazy.
First two nights I could not sleep because this one guy was talking to Jesus all night (he was in really much pain), nurses could not help him any way, and he is partially deaf, so he screamed his conversations even louder. Then the other nights there was just a lot of disturbance and this last night when I thought I'll get some rest at 4 AM they brought this guy with really bad condition, he was screaming and all, they dragged him out straight to surgery.. and then he just died. I could not be a doctor. Too much tragedy and pain going on there.

How have all you been?

"take that fucking hippie" BAMM.

and that scar will get you laid. i have dog teethmarks on the inside of my ankle and gashings on my foot. none of those are sexy enough to get me laid but that appendix scar...woah, you'll have many a-busy nights.

Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: blixa on Apr 26, 2010, 01:25 PM
oh, i think the more offensive the better the sex. i can actually believe an american when he talks dirty. i think it's affective because i already associate some sort of grittiness to americans. i'm not a believer in dirty talk but i think i can become one if i get myself an american lover, which i don't think will happen anytime soon. i'm open to it though. i say this as a person who finds dirty talk especially stupid. i'm more, "talk is cheap, more action!"

i've never heard an englishman talk dirty. it might be good. i've heard hugh grant talk dirty but i don't think that counts.

i love hugh grant. he's great at what he does.

i have a skinhead interested in me. i don't know why considering what he believes about the 'purity' of a certain race above another. his father has a tiny swastika tattoo on the inside of his left rib. he told my friend that he wants to fuck me senseless, which is what led me to think about dirty talk.

it's all pretty frightening. i'm semitic. that swastika tattoo is a direct insult to my people. plus imagine introducing him to my father...that's the last thing i want to visualise. my dad would kick my arse to the high heavens.

as far as i'm aware he thinks other cultures are beneath him. he refused to eat the dolmades my friend's mum made. his reason was that he doesn't eat ethnic food. why? because he's a fucking nazi. he sent me an email tonight which is very very disturbing. it's pretty much an explanation of why he's ashamed of himself for saying what he said to my mate, not because it was degrading towards me but because i'm not "on his level" and that he expected better from his taste in women.

i think i'm the most hated person here now because of my stance on people who eat meat. for fuckssake, what do they expect me to say? oh yeah, peter. you can totally love animals and eat a burger as well. how can i say it's okay when i don't believe that.

at least you hate the entire female race equally. he's a skinhead, and not the nice type of skinhead. his dad is a racist with a swastika tattoo. he's never ever had a thing for a non-white female. maybe he's having a mental breakdown. MAYBE I'M HIS MENTAL BREAKDOWN?

he's a racist. i've heard the shit he says and there's always an undertone to it. i'm surprised he has friends at all. all i've heard him say about me is disgusting things about my physical anatomy. i think he desires the things he hates and that frightens him. he'll have a mental breakdown if i pinned him down and kissed him.

oh no, tainted lips.

i hate that i am sexually attracted to him. in the way that he desires what he hates, i desire what hates me. fucked up. i need freud up in here. no...that'll fuck me up worse.

i'll drive to his house tomorrow. OH WAIT, NO ETHNIC PEOPLE ALLOWED. WHITES ONLY.

do you think i could be having an existential crisis? a lot of men have been complimenting me this year. i've never been this lavished with compliments before. today when i was at the gallery this man came up to me when i came out of the gallery store and was like, "i don't mean to be weird but would you be okay with being drawn?" and i automatically said no. then he said, "you have an incredible face" which i took to mean, "i want to rip off your head and keep your face" so i kind of said that i had to go and got out of there immediately.

i think that's why i have been watching he died with a felafel in his hand:
why can't i be as sexy as anya? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpzDCeLSxwU#ws)

definitely an existential crisis...

No I think you're just a confused of what you want and where you want to be, that may be a mild version of what you said but very mild at best. And no I don't think you're in a crisis and complementing because of that, I'm trying to be nice and considering that I am not the most comforting of people, well take it as a compliment. I believe there are rational and logic explanations to most things, so I tell it like it is normally. That's from my profession I guess, but I have found it easier to live like that... whether people like it or not I don't particularly care, I know I'm a good person and that you and the other guys here are too.

i have this bitch of a paper to write. i wrote an essay yesterday night and now i have to write one again for another class. it's due tomorrow and i'm working all day tomorrow. won't be home till 11pm. i also have this massive headache and it feels like i'm exhausted all the time.

you know when you wake up and you've had a decent sleep (6hrs of sleep) and you still feel tired as fuck. supposedly baristas are rarely tired. it's all the caffeine they're around all day.

dude, you can totally get laid. look at you!
Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: Law on Apr 29, 2010, 02:09 PM
Blogs are good to vent, you definitely start one... I'd read it for sure I like your comments generally.

Especially that last one actually! Haha no I don't see that at all, it's my personality I think, nothings ever good enough so thinking about my vanity in that sort of way is alien to me and I feel rude doing so, it's for other people to judge and if they like me well so be it. I appreciate it so much when people approach me though, it's a great feeling but I don't tend to think about it from my perspective and besides, some girl last night who was with a mate last night said to me I was weird, oh joy!

And when I was just reading that again, it sounds like I haven't tried it yet hahaha! Oops!
Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: blixa on Apr 29, 2010, 02:43 PM
keeping up with a blog is hard work. i think sharing the blogging aspect would help because it wouldn't feel like it is just you doing it all alone.

what is wrong with your personality? how are you weird? if you're weird then i'm a fucking science experiment gone wrong. you are good looking and you seem to be a decent guy. i don't think people should pass judgement after first meetings. i'm usually terrible with first meetings. i get flustered and paranoid about whether that person will like me and want to be my friend. utter garbage. i think it's hard for men. they have to make all the moves. i find that extremely terrifying. i would occasionally see a nice guy and i would never think to do anything about it because they are in the place to reject me. i think it would be much better if we were less afraid of rejection.

why is it so hard to get a root?
Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: Law on Apr 29, 2010, 03:13 PM
I guess my main thing is that I like to get plenty back from a convo, so someone who is inherently boring and appears stupid will be a instant no goer, so I guess that generally cuts out like 80% of people (I sound elitist I know). Getting 'a root' isn't hard at all I think when you observe people, I am good at reading people from just looking at them that is one thing I do pride myself on. I can talk to people quite easily, I have developed that over the last few years from this work... so I am lucky for that. But I do like people who challenge me, so someone who likes to think away from the norm and filter into my misanthropy generally are quite cool to me, but to be honest it isn't clear cut, I have mates and met people of whom on paper you wouldn't think I would get along with but hey presto I am fine with them, but general tarty fakeness in a club is such a old dog trick. And even though we are just talking about sex, for me an ability to have a tiny conversation does help lol.

Wow I do have issues. You're my new therapist.
Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: blixa on Apr 29, 2010, 03:27 PM
it's weird you say that about wanting to have a proper conversation with someone because i eavesdrop a bit (blame it on small crowded pubs) and i hear complete bullshit being said back and forth. it kind of reads like a bad script. it has put a bad taste in my mouth about the whole ordeal of meeting people and talking to them. at this point i say nothing when i meet new people, especially men. i only talk when i'm being talked to. what would you say is challenging to you? i still refuse to believe that you can't get a root and i'm right. you just want a meaningful conversation in the middle of it. you want someone worthy to have sex with, even if it is meaningless sex.

i'd laugh if we can't get along, but you never know. i'm very random when i start talking and i think that helps me in making friends. i'm just the kooky girl. i get called smart and i don't even have to prove it, which helps.

stop going to clubs. nothing but trouble there. oh, what's your pet peeve regarding clothes?
Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: Law on Apr 29, 2010, 03:50 PM
I don't want to talk to everyone, it's more the fact if someone approaches me... it's easier if you can talk to them without feeling that you are literally scraping the barrel, hehe. But yes you are right about the root, a lot easier when you said it. What's challenging? It's not that clear cut, I guess a decent personality, someone who takes the piss because to be honest I can wind people up left right and centre but all in all someone who isn't retarded. Harsh but true lol.

Yeah it would be pretty funny if we didn't get along, I guess we'd laugh it off though. I'd get you to prove your smartness though haha.

My pet peeve regarding clothes? Er does none count? haha
Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: blixa on Apr 29, 2010, 04:00 PM
i'll use fake intelligence. it has worked for me thus far. i'm very cool though hahaha. everyone says. there's this guy in my honours class who talks to me a bit. he's very intelligent so i try to avoid talking to him because i don't want to look like a fool. then i find out through one of my lecturers who has taught me for several years now that he is in fact very shy and finds it difficult to approach me. so now i have to make an effort to talk to him because i feel bad for not being friendlier.

i get into a lot of trouble for having a somewhat conservative stance on casual sex and stuff. we'll probably squabble over that. actually i think we'll squabble a lot. i fight with almost everyone. dude, i hate physics hahaha. i find the periodic table extremely beautiful to look at. it's the same joy i get from reading the dictionary.

i go to an art school. i have a lot of pet peeves regarding clothes...mostly people trying too hard. i hate girls who wear heels to uni. i always feel like pushing them over, taking their shoes off their feet and throwing it in their face. well, not really, it just irks me.
Title: Re: @Jambi
Post by: Law on Apr 29, 2010, 04:32 PM
Haha fake intelligence is the same in a way, takes a good mind to come up with it in the first place.

Always stand up for you believe in, I don't think we would squabble too much over certain things, I am pretty laid back but I guess coming from a standard English family has instilled some cautionary measures into my subconscious! And I know you think I am science geek, which I am... but I like to try a lot of things. Put it this way, when I was 4-15 I rode motorbikes, from 6 I used to sell art at school and make a profit, I was in line to go to artschool, I have played and wrote tunes for the last 10 years, gigged hell of a lot, street ride all the time and do stupid stunts which usually hurt when I get them wrong. PhD is just my day job and science and math I am good at, but I am very artistic in a lot of senses, with perhaps more logic than most haha.

it's good you tried all those things. it gives you range. makes you more of a catch hahaha which one would you say you enjoyed the most?

i've got a quote and two sentences written thus far. this class is just bullshit. up to this point, my honours year has been absolute bullshit. the classes i have to do are bordering on useless. i'm learning things i would learn if i was left to my own devices. this essay i'm writing is for a class that is based on the theory of design and design practice. it's dreary crap written by people who are writing directly for dreary pompous pricks. i can't believe this class even exists. i should be spending time on my work and shooting, but i'm sitting here like a zombie typing out words about something i don't want to be writing about and would not benefit me nor my work in any way. WHY DOES THIS CLASS EXIST?!?
